I'll tell you this... for immediate blood sugar control, drastically cut your carbohydrate intake, increase your fiber intake, and increase your activity (yeah, "exercise" but really, just activity...
Avatar f tn This question is for Ted from Thailand. Or any doctor or nutritionist that has time to answer. How often can I take the baking soda and lemon juice mixture?? I have begun that regiment once a day so far, increased my magnesium, and 2 tbs black strap molasses as well. I have completely stopped taking my propranolol. The pvc's are fewer, but not completely gone.
Avatar n tn I promised to check back after seeing an endocrinologist. I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I have a low A1c and my weight is low but with a family history and symptoms along with elevated blood sugar., the physician said I'm diabetic. The A1c confused me as every other doctor says I'm fine. I'm taking a glucose tolerance test soon for 3hrs. Anyway, thanks for the supportive answers. You are all so helpful. I'm meeting a nutritionist Tuesday.
Avatar f tn s, and 1/4 of the menu items are listed, but then there are dozens of items with no information, just the name. Is this just because people are too lazy or ignorant to actually put what an item is when they add it?
Avatar f tn Calorific intake depends on your weight and you haven't stated your daughters weight BUT as your daughter is still growing I really think you need expert advice from a dietician as dieting while that young is a whole different ball game than it is to someone of the same weight and height that is over 21. Until you get some proper advice all I would recommend would be to cut out nearly all junk food, sweets, chips crisps etc. Introduce more fruit and veg.

Notice I did not say eliminate. I have my daily 85-90% dark chocolate and occasionally other treats, I do often put honey in my oatmeal, etc. I know this sounds cliche, but don't go on a "diet." You want to make a lifestyle change.
Avatar f tn I have ankylosing spondylitis and irritable bowel syndrome. I think they are most definitely related. I've been following a low starch diet (Carol Sinclair's IBS Low Starch Diet) and it has really helped. I've also recently started seeing a nutritionist and had food intolerance tests done, am taking Schussler Tissue Salts and incorporated the Anti-Inflammation Diet Plan into my menu planning. All this is detailed on my blog www.bonappetitreview.blogspot.

172023 tn?1334672284 Menu sounds good, I looked at a bag of broccoli slaw at the store today and put it back down because I am not sure how to prepare it. I love coleslaw but was thinking that I could toss some vinegar, lemon and pepper in with the broccoli slaw for a healthy alternative. Do you just add yours to salad? And also, I love laughing cow cheese, I spead it over a few fat-free salteens for a snack. I actually prefer the light laughing cow to regular hard cheeses.
Avatar f tn It's been a stressful week and weekend for everybody. I can feel the anxiety on this forum so let's have a nice, fun, relaxing MENU MONDAY today. What are you craving? What makes you gag? And mainly, what's on the menu today?! Well we already had lunch of PB&J sandwiches (my cupboards are getting bare...). Tonight I think I'll make a sheperd's pie-type meal. It's like a casserole of ground beef, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc. all layered in a pan. MMM MMM!
