Avatar m tn Magnesium benefits? Where should we start? With reduced risk of cognitive decline? Or maybe… * Promotion of strong bones in postmenopausal women * Heart health support * Management of C-reactive protein (a key marker of inflammation) * Maintenance of tooth enamel Clearly, magnesium is a nutrient you don't want to get caught short on. Especially because magnesium has an important type 2 diabetes connection, which in turn has a gallstone connection.
Avatar f tn A person wanting to lose weight should do so in a scientific way for long term benefits. A healthy diet and regular exercise or incorporating yoga into your daily regime can help to lose weight. I suggest you to eat frequent small meals and eat more of green leafy vegetables, fruits and protein and less of fats, butter and potato etc. Drink lots of water and consume fruits rich in vitamin C as it is a fat burner. Get a diet chart made from a nutritionist.
Avatar f tn ve already applied for medicaid cash assistance and food card but my sister was telling me i should do some research because given my situation i should qualify for more benefits like free diapers and what not.
1414974 tn?1285958242 I don't know where you live but here in Australia you can get CoQ10 from nutritionists or naturopaths that don't contain soy .. I am a nutritionist and I have my hubby on it and also take it myself. The easiest way of explaining how it benefits is to say that it provides energy to cells ..
Avatar f tn I'm 17 years old and 6 weeks pregnant. The dad and I aren't together and I live with a grandparent. I'm pretty overwhelmed. Can anyone help me as to applying for WIC benefits? I don't know the first thing about doing that and everything I've read on the internet is confusing. I'm kind of freaking out here and any help or advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Avatar f tn WIC is an income based program that pesticides supplemental food to pregnant/breastfeeding mom's, infant and children. If you qualify income wise they'll check your height, weight, and iron and speak with a nutritionist. They'll give you vouchers or a card (depending on your state) with the benefits you can use.
Avatar n tn m not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with type 1, and I am also not a nutritionist or dietician. From what I understand about type 2, it is primarily controlled by diet and exercise, sometimes requiring medicine. If you balance your diet with enough exercise to make up for it, theoretically you could eat those two foods with no problem. Corn meal is higher in carbs, so it would mean more activity, but it is clearly possible.
Avatar n tn But, it is not a consistent weight loss medication. However it does have other benefits for women with PCOS, including improving the likelihood of spontaneous ovulation, or making women who need clomid to help them ovulate more sensitive to clomid. Are your periods regular? What are your goals - weight loss? Pregnancy? If weight loss, a nutritionist might be helpful.
Avatar f tn A partial answer, since I don't know all of what you have to avoid, would be that a diet based on the whole foods concept should help some. The whole foods concept is based on the idea of eating foods as close to how you get them from nature as possible without processing them. Going gluten free has helped several of my conditions, including pre-diabetes. I went gluten free for other health reasons and had many benefits.
Avatar f tn t have much experience with the benefits of certain foods, but even with the things already mentioned, you could have a physical or mental condition that requires medication or other therapies. As such, I would recommended a professional evaluation to narrow down the cause of your symptoms, as well as determine what treatment would be helpful.

862235 tn?1336060295 Is salmon OK or should I be sticking to leaner fishes like cod? What are the benefits of the omega fatty acids vs the restricted fat intake? Also some salmonids like Atlantic salmon are obviously fattier than others like wild Pacific salmon is this something I should consider?
7062279 tn?1388370086 re afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply). It is perfectly safe and even encouraged to help baby grow healthy. I take fish oil capsules on the side, in addition to my prenatal vitamin.
Avatar f tn I ate LOTS of eggs when I was on my GD diet. If you fail your 3 hour test you will just have regular meetings with a nutritionist and will have to watch your diet. Some women have to take insulin but that is rare. Good luck on your 3 hour test! It's a nasty test so I feel for you.
Avatar f tn Also, you could discuss personalized diet modifications with a nutritionist. For example, our Western diet includes many dairy sources containing hormones as well as foods with significant sugar content and other carbohydrates that promote increased production of androgens (hormones important in development of acne). Wishing You Optimal Health, Dr.
