417564 tn?1287982827 I stopped getting proper nutrition but kept up with the massive amounts of vitamins. I used supplements...but it would really take alot. I simply did not feel like eating, so I listened to my body and I did not eat...I drank water, I did everything else right. As our counselor said...I am no doctor. Vitamins are very hard on your stomach...especially coming off methadone because you lack proper gut function. Nutrition is of equal importance.
Avatar f tn It would help if I had a list of foods to go grocery shopping for, and what I could or couldn't eat.
2000931 tn?1401563007 Seriously just go back to a simpler time, in grandmas time food was actually nutritional, now a days cardboard has more nutritional value than half the stuff on the supermarket shelves. Hands up who thinks cheese is orange and stretchy enough to make a hammock out of, lol its simply not cheese if you can flapp it about for half an hour, cheese crumbles, breaks and does not have the colour of a mandarine lol who came up with cheese in a can??
Avatar m tn I am planning to go and visit nutrition doctor tomorrow. I want to make sure that I have good vitamins, minerals in my body to make sure that I am boosting immunity power. I don't know what all the tests they recommend, I will post you guys tomorrow. As I had Vit d3 level very low, I don't wonder if other vitamins/mineral levela are low. I will take supplements depending on the result. What you guys say? Is it better step or it's of no use for HBV?
Avatar f tn At the moment, I love dry foods. Potatoes especially and salads, all salads are on top of my list. I'm not into sweet stuff this time around like when I was pregnant with my daughter. I love to eat plain boiled potatoes with sour cream or potatoe salad with a little bit of olive oil, lemon juice, salt and crushed garlic.

Avatar m tn Treatment leaves most folks nutritional depleted with high oxidative stress. Glutathione, Vitamins A, C, E and selenium are all depleted. The treatment induces a pro-inflammatory state, and shifting back to an anti-inflammatory state is, in my opinion, of value, along with anti-fibrotic measures for the liver. Many of these items will accelerate brain recovery, one of the organs most profoundly affected by interferon.

20620809 tn?1504362969 com/daily/nutrition/glycemic-index-chart/ The food is listed, along with the serving size in parenthesis, then the glycemic value. The lower the glycemic value, the better. There are a lot of other lists available on the internet - just do a search for "low glycemic foods". Most vegetables "qualify" as low glycemic, except things like white potatoes, etc.
649848 tn?1534633700 Med Help has just launched a new Nutrition Application, which will help make it easier to find the nutritional value/calories of the foods you are eating - this should make it easier to keep up with the food tracker; it looks like you can link right to your food diary and exercise/weight trackers. There's an area where you can "ask an expert", as well as a lot of other valuable information.
400099 tn?1282954864 The supplements that boost the immune system - and some do - should be avoided in MS. According to a list I once had (it's probably around here somewhere) these run the risk of rev'ving up the MS. Vitamin C is one. Eichinacea is another. I need to find the listing. One that is very often recommended (even though it boost immunity) is Vitamin D. the strict docs say that you should take supplements if your level is less than 35.

Avatar f tn My Mom (68 years old very healthy otherwise) has been diagnosed with carcinosarcoma stage 3C ovarian cancer. I'm trying to find information on nutrition. She is undergoing chemo every three weeks taxol/carbo. I'm getting so much conflicting information on nutrition. I've been told she should have soy milk instead of cow's milk and another nutritionist said no soy milk and no rice milk! Milk is just one food that we are getting mixed info about.
