Avatar n tn I give him Supradyn (including Coenzyme Q10) twice a day to maintain his vitamin/mineral needs. But unfortunately his nutrition lacks of protein and he gets more fatigue. I have two questions: 1) How can I get him to eat or drink something? Cardiologists whom I know dont prescribe anything to stimulate his appetite nor advice to do something for it.
Avatar n tn He got a sandwich at a deli, last week, got sick soon after, and now I caught whatever it is he has. Neither of us has felt like eating much for a week, except for rice and hot chicken broth, Does anyone have any nutrition ideas? Thanks!
Avatar f tn What do y'all know about WIC? I'm eligible but I have never heard of it b4.
Avatar f tn WIC is a program that helps pregnant mothers & their babies with getting nutritional food that they need. You go to your appointments & they help you with questions regarding nutrition, breastfeeding & eating healthy. They give vouchers for juices, dairy products, eggs, fruits & veggies, whole grains & cereals. You buy only what the voucher says. Their goal us to have you start eating healthy so that you pass those habits onto your children.
Avatar f tn m 27 weeks pregnant the last 11 weeks I have not been eating meat after learning about pink slime and how disgusting fast food really is and watching the documentaries about food and nutrition on Netflix I just could not eat meat for a while I started eating a lot healthier and have been proud of my Nutrition changes but a huge but!!
1407457 tn?1281317353 You can also make low fat cupcakes using plain (or reduced sugar cake mix) and adding diet soda instead of eggs/oil. It cuts down the fat/calories and still tastes fabulous! 100 calorie snacks are the best....and still taste great! Meat: Pick lean meat, stick with more turkey then beef, chicken without the skin. I like to roast some skinless chicken breasts with some low sodium seasonings...mix with a small baked potato and fresh veggies...Yum!
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, we are born with our eggs that we carry throughout the years. Kinda of think of it as a chicken laying a 35 or 40 year old egg. Our eggs aren't produced with time, they diminish and get older every year. I read once that at the e of 25 your fertility goes down 50%, at age 32 it goes down another 50% and at age 35 another 50%. I do not want to get you down either...I have always been physically fit.
Avatar m tn Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, poultry, nuts, seeds and legumes. Healthy carbohydrate sources include fruits, vegetables and whole grains. You might also consider buying a protein powder and drink shakes between your meals and after exercising. Personally i use QuickMass from Allmax Nutrition. I was was 118 lbs when i started it 1 month ago and now I'm 129.
Avatar m tn Are you and tallgirl the same? You still need to continue with proper nutrition for the rest of your life until a cure for diabetes is found. Eat small well proportioned meals throughout the day. How you do this is up to you since we don't live in your body. The three keys to controlling glucose levels are: 1. Proper nutrition 2. Moderate exercise 3.
467897 tn?1240251837 I am aware of low proteins, but need to know about dairy, pasta, fresh fruits & veggies - I really need some guidelines so I can feed this poor body as good as possible. I do cook for myself, but due to the fatigue meals often come frozen in a box (you know microwavable "healthier eats"). But please, anyone out there that can recommend foods, recipes, basics???? Maybe someone is aware of a site, or maybe an old forum topic, I am willing to listen to good suggestions.
Avatar f tn I lost 28 pounds in my 1st trimester from nausea and vomiting. The only nutrition I had was being on an IV for 2 months. I could not eat or drink anything until I was 15 weeks. Like my doctor told me, babies are resilient. My daughter pulled everything from me to grow and thrive. Although I was sick, she was just fine. I'm 25 weeks and 1 day now; still on 3 prescriptions to stop the nausea and vomiting (including a Zofran pump in my stomach 24 hours a day) and my daughter is doing great!
Avatar f tn ve been reading and been told, one of the functions of the liver is to regulate the amount of glucose, protein and fats that enter the bloodstream. It also processes vitamins and minerals. Like Iron. My iron is elevated so this dietician also said to limit red meats. Guess that has the most iron in it. And there are two kinds of iron. Seems like the animal iron sources, like red meat, are the ones to avoid.
Avatar f tn I'm very concerned with my 7yr. old step-daughter. When with us, 2 weekends a month, I try to provide very balanced healthy meals, limiting the sugar and processed foods, and give her a multi-vitamin. The problem is the other 26 days of the month at her mother's where she eats mostly fastfood, candy, chips, soda and sugary juice paks, no vitamins to supplement, not made to eat any vegetables, fruits or meat if she doesn't want it.
621217 tn?1289009087 I'm just wondering what people are eating to get some sort of nutrition in their diet's when their stomachs are so upset? So far the things I can stick to are saltines, dry cheerio's, ginger ale, I make the potato buds and mix in an egg or two (its helps because the thought of just eating eggs makes me more nasouse and i know eggs are pretty nutrient packed) oh and apple sauce. On rare occasions i can eat a little bit of oatmeal.
Avatar n tn You may take whole-grain cereals, light yogurt; fresh fruit. Try taking hard boiled eggs instead of fried scrambled eggs.Antidepressants; cough remedies, painkillers can all lead to nausea.Gastroesophageal reflux disease is another possibility. Seeking the opinion of a primary care physician will be helpful. After a clinical examination you may be referred for specialist opinion. Hope it helps. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn Protein can be obtained from pulses, soya products, whole grains, dairy products, eggs, meat and fish. Increasing intake of citrus fruits, berries and green vegetables will boost vitamin C and aid circulation.Use only mild shampoos and conditioners made from natural ingredients. Use a good brush and don’t pull or damage the hair.Avoid frequent coloring with chemical treatments.Regular scalp massage will promote circulation of nutrients to the hair follicles.
Avatar n tn I'm a type II diabetic diagnosed this year with food allergies: corn, peanuts, soybeans, eggs and lettuce and various things in those families. That puts a great many "health" and low fat foods off my list and diabetic staples like eggs are a fond memory. I can't find any information out there to help me balance these evils (diabetes and allergies) against each other.
Avatar f tn I already have a high metabolism, so the extra calorie burn of anxiety/stress, plus lower nutrition going in always leads to some weight loss for me. Try to keep eating, even when you don't feel like it. I'm not familiar with a lot of cuisine options in the UK. Here in the US, when my anxiety is bad sometimes I live on ginger ale soda, toast with peanut butter & honey, and scrambled eggs.
Avatar f tn Eating more regularly helps some people balance their blood sugar. What healthy, between-meal munchies do you go to when a craving strikes? Here's one to try: a 1-ounce stick of string cheese with a handful of strawberries. It's only 100 calories and 4 grams of carbs! Check out some other ideas here and on our Sugar Sense app! http://www.medhelp.
Avatar n tn For your info, I have also been taking two boiled eggs daily for the past six weeks. I have never taken this way prior to this. Can excessive intake of eggs result in the said skin rashes.
Avatar f tn It depends on your age, and overall health! Woman between the age of 19 and 50 need 18 mg of iron per day. I suggest seeing your doctor and have it checked to see if you need more.
