Avatar m tn Well, I know you say you don't have time to get to the gym, but that is what will boost your appetite and help build the muscle you're looking for. Even if you can't do it regularly, try to at least go for a jog around your block once or twice a week or do workout videos (like the well-known P90X videos) that are quick to whip you into shape at home. As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle.
Avatar f tn For starters what type of food is available to you? What is your budget? You need to be more specific.
1416560 tn?1304876070 I recently got p90x. I am excited to use it! Has anyone else done it and how did you find it? What were your results?
Avatar f tn Yesterday, I ran for a half hour, walked uphill for a half hour, and then walked briskly for another forty minutes. Today, I did p90x in the morning, with the ab ripper. I have no problem doing p90x. I am trying to add in the Turbo Jam/Fire routines to my workouts, and they really are tough. I never do the same exercises two days in a row, unless it's walking, but that's usually just an extra workout. Does it really matter at what time I eat, if I am not overeating?

Avatar f tn I have dropped 10lbs in 3 weeks just by maintaining a healthy diet, decreasing my calorie intake as well as decreasing the amount of unhealthy foods I was consuming and doing p90x for an hour every day .
Avatar n tn I work out everyday for a minumum of 1 hour, usually 2. I do the P90X and P90x plus daily. My weight is 190 pounds and my body fat is about 10.5%. Question: About 3 weeks ago I started having some pain when staightening my left leg after my left knee had been bent. It got a little better then the knee started popping or catching with lateral movement. No pain with the popping, but it really feels odd. The pain in the knee from staightening it out has returned.
Avatar f tn Hi there and thanks so much for your question! Yes P90X it is a very popular program designed by the popular fitness Trainer Tony Horton. Me as an ex athlete I have always expressed interest in new ways of physical exercise and when trying the program I could see that P90X could be beneficial for specific audiences with extensive athletic background otherwise I would strongly not recommend it unless you combine it with other sorts of exercise programs.
10256164 tn?1408981241 I'm not that far along yet but I usually do a hard work out such as insanity or p90x ect... are we allowed to still do these and just take it a bit easier?
1253186 tn?1304783542 but on the other hand, my cousin who is very skinny, wants to build muscle and he did this for a month or so and said it really worked for him to gain weight, so I guess that is my dilemma. I just want to be able to wear the cute tops and my jeans without the bulge! :) I think I am going to try to talk my hubby into getting it though! Thanks a bunch!!

Avatar m tn I worked out 3 of my 6 days for p90x and still lost 6lbs last week by doing this. So excited because I did p90x for 30days without skipping any days and I was staying in my calorie range, and I only lost 2lbs and I gained a body fat percentage. I was not watching my carbs. Now that I am, I have felt better and am finally dropping pounds. Hope this helps! Oh another tip... when you eat a carb (yes fruits are carbs) eat it with a protein. An apple with a cheese stick or peanut butter.
973741 tn?1342342773 My, this post is old-- not sure anyone is looking for an answer, anymore. I would say start by emphasizing fruits and vegetables. Try to get the minimum of 3 servings of vegetables and two of fruits per day. Try new ways of serving the ones you like, and try out some that you haven't gotten used to yet. Another healthy food is oatmeal. One tool I like is the 'recipe nutrition calculator' on myfooddata.

Avatar m tn Thanks, will request for these tests you ask for, Great, will send detailed results of DHEAS and all
Avatar m tn It is very difficult to know anything based on what you posted. First, lab ranges even for the different labs in the US differ so without ranges - have no idea if you are low, high or normal. Second - no idea if you are sick or how you are sick. The tests run are not really run for adrenal except DHEA (and that is really more of an adrogen - e.g. it converts to testosterone and estrogen) so not sure why it belongs in this forum.
Avatar f tn oatmeal for breakfast, whole wheat breads, oatmeal cookies, bran muffins, whole-wheat pasta, and brown rice. Serve fruit and vegetables in any form, raw or cooked. Salads are great if she will eat it. The most important aspect to increased fiber is increasing your fluid intake. Fiber is great for increased bowel movements; however, it needs fluids to get through the colon. Suggest you limit rice, bananas, and fresh apples.
2000931 tn?1401563007 It seems to me that what is a healthy diet for mere mortals should also work for PWMS. The healthier I can make my body, the better equipped it is to fight MS. I don't follow a scripted diet. I have made some changes to what I eat since being diagnosed last October. I eat more protein and fewer carbs. (i.e. eggs, not cereal or bagels for breakfast) The carbs I do eat tend to be whole grain. I eat lots of leafy green vegetables. When possible I eat organic foods.
1494170 tn?1361750860 sorry if this question is redundant but does anyone know of a good source for healthy foods for people with chronic hep c and chronic liver cirrhosis?
