454022 tn?1208370394 The cheese may contain Listeriosis. It's very harmful to pregnant women. You can eat hard cheeses but not soft cheese like brie, blue cheeses, goat cheese, unless cooked. this is the same reason why all lunch meat should be heated and cooked before eating. Raw meat may contain bacteria also that is why they tell you not to eat Sushi.
Avatar f tn Seafood is okay, but no sushi. Just make sure all the fish you eat is well cooked.
Avatar f tn But am confused about the nutrition fact they write in the box of food (rice for example) they say nutrition facts for 100 g but is it like 100g of boiled rice or the uncooked product ? I guess there's a difference because when you use dry product you need for example two cups but if you use cooked rice you may need a cup ... Since it sucked water and its heavier so .. Any thoughts or maybe am dumb lol ! Thank you .
Avatar f tn Besides the heavy-metal contamination issue, make sure that the friend who smoked the fish knows what he is doing regarding smoking it completely, i.e., not leaving it raw in the middle and then failing to refrigerate it. Raw fresh fish is not unhealthy (absent the heavy-metal issue), but raw fish that has sat out for days in the cupboard because someone thought it was completely smoked is not anything I'd eat, preggers or not.

Avatar f tn So, I am already freaking out when it comes to nutrition and eating. All I want is a healthy baby and have been looking online at all the foods and stuff you should stay away from and I am like, I already ate that! I had that last week! I have heard fish is an absolute NO but then I read that some fish like tuna, salmon, and tilapia are very good for the baby when it comes to neurological development. And then I have read absolutely NO deli meat or sandwich meat, well, what am I supposed to eat?
572651 tn?1530999357 MedHelp has an exercise and nutrition expert who is interested in MS and posted this information last month. I think I shared it at that time, but perhaps I didn't. I can't tell because no one from here joined in the conversation.. If you are inclined to learn more and think about MS and exercise in a different light, you might consider reading his post. You can access it at http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn The most important is self-care. Eating good nutrition, drinking plenty of water, decreasing caffeine (a stimulant). Exercise, even if it's just getting up and dancing or going for a good walk. Rest when you need to. Listen to your body. Distraction when the anxiety is creeping in - turn on some music, call a friend and talk it out, get up and go walk. But most importantly is retraining your brain. "This is just anxiety. It's no fun, but it's not going to hurt me.
547836 tn?1302832832 I was reading the nutrition facts under the links and noticed that although none of the two contain iron, the Protegra contains 5000 IU of Vitamin A! That's a lot of Vitamin A. Should I start taking these every other day? Or maybe once/ twice a week instead of everyday? or not at all? THANKS!
Avatar f tn Has anyone ate sushi durning their pregnancy ? I have a craving for Sushi, but I could've swore I read somewhere about pregnant women shouldn't eat sushi...
Avatar f tn Not all sushi is raw. Sushi is okay at least once a week, nothing raw obviously. I'd stick to fried sushi if possible.
Avatar f tn Of course there are rolls that are not cooked and sashimi is never cooked. However if you go to a reputable sushi restaurant they should split the menu into cooked sushi and not cooked sushi to avoid any confusion. Plus if there are any questions she can always ask the server if the dish she chose is cooked or not.
Avatar f tn This may sound stupid, so sorry I never used to be a sushi fan, but tonight my hubby and I went out for chinese, and in the buffet they had fresh sushi, and it looked so good, I was craving some. Avatar f tn Raw fish is not recommended during pregnancy. Try avocado sushi or other veggie sushi. Just tell whoever at the sushi place you are pregnant and what they recommend.

Avatar f tn I'm 12+ wks and I can't seem to get enough protein! The newest kick. Sushi. I'm not a huge fan of the raw fish dishes. Maybe it's the idea of lots of wasabi. I'm on a spicy kick too. I literally salivate when I think of going and getting a huge sushi dinner. Yet there is the nagging in the back of my head that says, "your preggers, no sushi!" Grrrrr... Ladies, "What do you think?" I'm at a loss.
Avatar f tn ll just drool as I look at my sisters platter of sushi. Son of A!
Avatar f tn Omgosh I'm going crazy!!! I love sushi and my doctor says no sushi even though it's cooked because they make it on the same table as the raw sushi. I want to break the rules so bad and eat some shrimp tempura but my husband is so strict he gets upset. Anyone else having this problem or is your doctor not so strict? Please tell me I'm not alone.
Avatar f tn I just want to dig into some rolls!!!! Just talking about sushi makes my mouth water....my hubby would say ***** to be you as we drive by a sushi place or see sushi. Lol. I crave it but I can't have it.
Tbd I have never used Medifast personally, but a quick glance at their nutrition facts, and I would say if you are struggling with high cholesterol, I wouldn't go that route. Any pre-packaged items/shakes like that tend to be high in sodium and cholesterol- two things you want to stay away from. As with any diet- I'd ask your doctor before you start any plan to make sure it's right for you. I know losing weight can be tough!
