Avatar m tn Steel cut oats are partially cooked so they can be cut, but eating them uncooked will make them impossible to digest. At best, they're passing through, worthless, at worst, they're getting stuck somewhere. Why would you want to eat partially raw oats? If you want the fiber, put oat bran in your shake. Not nutritional value, but it will provide soluble fiber that helps with cholesterol.
Avatar f tn Just want to say, if it only takes 10 minutes you're not cooking oats, you're cooking rolled oats, and probably quick oats at that, meaning they're already partially cooked and much of the fiber is gone. Whole oats take about an hour to cook. And if you have to add sugar or honey, you're not buying good quality oats -- oats are naturally sweet and don't really need any added sugar.
Avatar f tn But am confused about the nutrition fact they write in the box of food (rice for example) they say nutrition facts for 100 g but is it like 100g of boiled rice or the uncooked product ? I guess there's a difference because when you use dry product you need for example two cups but if you use cooked rice you may need a cup ... Since it sucked water and its heavier so .. Any thoughts or maybe am dumb lol ! Thank you .

Drink plenty of water and non fattening fluids such as clear soups etc. Look for hidden calories in salads and soups and avoid them (eg: cheese, butter, dressings etc).

For dinner light soup with clear veg / chicken stock and some bread with again some light fruit would help maintaining extreme fluctuation. ------------------- Dacey Son Learn about the health virtues of resveratrol through the findings of medical community and scientists at resveratrol4life.com.
Avatar f tn The most important is self-care. Eating good nutrition, drinking plenty of water, decreasing caffeine (a stimulant). Exercise, even if it's just getting up and dancing or going for a good walk. Rest when you need to. Listen to your body. Distraction when the anxiety is creeping in - turn on some music, call a friend and talk it out, get up and go walk. But most importantly is retraining your brain. "This is just anxiety. It's no fun, but it's not going to hurt me.
660872 tn?1238641245 I think oats are ok for dogs. I used to give mine a 'working-dog' mix which contained rolled oats. If she's drinking plenty of water, then the oats will be ok, but not so nice inside her if she hasn't had a good drink. I'm afraid most dogs will snaffle anything they can get their teeth into. Mine hoovers up around the bird-table. That's become her hobby. I feel more sorry for the chickens! How to stop her eating the chicken feed? There's only one sure-fire way.

Tbd I have never used Medifast personally, but a quick glance at their nutrition facts, and I would say if you are struggling with high cholesterol, I wouldn't go that route. Any pre-packaged items/shakes like that tend to be high in sodium and cholesterol- two things you want to stay away from. As with any diet- I'd ask your doctor before you start any plan to make sure it's right for you. I know losing weight can be tough!
