Avatar f tn But am confused about the nutrition fact they write in the box of food (rice for example) they say nutrition facts for 100 g but is it like 100g of boiled rice or the uncooked product ? I guess there's a difference because when you use dry product you need for example two cups but if you use cooked rice you may need a cup ... Since it sucked water and its heavier so .. Any thoughts or maybe am dumb lol ! Thank you .
Avatar m tn The amount of melatonin in cherries varies with the variety. For example, Montmorency cherries, which constitute the vast majority of US cherries, carry about six times more of the compound that do Balaton cherries. But even the Balaton cherries are far richer in melatonin than other fruits and vegetables.
Avatar m tn Rock, this means no more three pounds of apples a day -- in fact it may mean NO FRUIT AT ALL in the very beginning (first couple of weeks) of South Beach diet. I lost ten pounds on a similar diet and three inches on the waist line. A lot of good info here: http://www.southbeachdiet.com/sbd/index.

Avatar n tn I am going to start eating cherries or drinking juice and plan to start with 6 cherries or 1 glass of juice per day. If I am not seeing a benefit I plan to increase the quantity I consume until I either see an improvement or I turn into a great big cherry :) Has your mother started drinking the juice yet? Is she seeing an improvement?

547836 tn?1302832832 I was reading the nutrition facts under the links and noticed that although none of the two contain iron, the Protegra contains 5000 IU of Vitamin A! That's a lot of Vitamin A. Should I start taking these every other day? Or maybe once/ twice a week instead of everyday? or not at all? THANKS!
Avatar m tn One occurs naturally (a cherry), the other is produced in a lab by the men and women in white coats. So, artificial cherries and natural cherries should, essentially, be the same thing, right? Do I understand this correctly? Is it possible to be allergic to artifical cherry flavoring but not be allergic to cherries? (or grapes, bananas, oranges, and their respective artificial flavoring) And does anyone have any scientific references to back up or deny?

Tbd I have never used Medifast personally, but a quick glance at their nutrition facts, and I would say if you are struggling with high cholesterol, I wouldn't go that route. Any pre-packaged items/shakes like that tend to be high in sodium and cholesterol- two things you want to stay away from. As with any diet- I'd ask your doctor before you start any plan to make sure it's right for you. I know losing weight can be tough!

I have another bag of cherries ready for this coming week, plus yesterday, cleaned and cut up a container of carrots and celery for each day of the week. Now that it's ready, all I have to do is toss the container into my bag and I'm ready to go. I'll divide the cherries in the same way.
