The couging has subsided, but there's still phelm in my throat. Yesterday I noticed that my tongue was coated in an yellowy/orange color!! I scraped it, and brushed it, but to no avail. Is this a common ailment? Anybody??? Thanks.
Man am I glad to see other people with tongue problems. I have had pain on the side of my tongue for nearly 1.5 years - both on the left side and the right side. I have talked to two general MD's, one ENT, and two dentists about it and nobody can seem to give me a clue as to what's wrong. The left side of my tongue always seems sensitive. It seems to be foliate pappitis to me but what do I know. I do know that I have cut wayyyy back on sugar (about 90%) and things have improved.
I have the same symptoms and have suffered from various deficiencies and other ailments. However this particular problem started with a numb toe. Stayed numb nearly 3 months. Finally I got a doctor that thought to test my blood again. She found a B-12 deficiency. I started the sublingual which has helped some. My toe is not constantly numb anymore.
Hi please see my previous question to see the background of this incident I have a numb tongue tip with a burning throat which comes and goes. My tastebuds at the tip of my tongue are inflamed and give this numb feeling which is made worse by antibacterial mouthwash such as Listerine. Looking closely there seems to be tiny white dots which to my untrained eye and web research resemble tiny hpv warts or the start of them.
In januar 2014 a had a contact with a male. after two days my groin lymph nodes got tender. As well as an ulcer on my tongue that resolved in a week. I am pretty confident i somehow woke up the bacteria, since i am so scared of life and eveything that i rarely get into sexual situation.. I trusted this guy whom i let to touch and kiss me. And we did oral. In last half a year i've done tests 3-4 times...but i am still perplexed. All the time VDRL/RPR and 19S-FTA ABS IgM are negative.
It is mostly in my buttock area - a little numb in my vagina - still just doesn't feel the same. I started w/the bladder retention on 10/4/06 - I also take a maintenance dose of valtrex (after the 10 day treatment), a multivitamin, vitamin E, 500 mg of lysine, 2 green tea supplements, calcium supplement and 50 mg of zoloft. Am I overdoing it? Do any of these contradict each other? I have also heard that baths with epsom salts keeps the virus at bay.

Also at 28 days i started feeling swelling on my body and every morning when i get up i have swollen lips cheeks and jaw. I have been feeling some pain in my arms as well. Together my fingers go numb while I am sleeping. Since the 18th day, i have had on and off mild fever but never crossed 99 degree mark. I am very much afraid of MLS, G-Barre', ALS, and have combed the web endlessly for assurances that I could have something benign. I'm PETRIFIED now and wondering how likely MS, G-B, ALS, MDyst, MGrav, Parkinson's, other serious Neuro/neuromuscular issue is given my symptoms?
about a day later I was still dizzy, but then my face began to go numb, to the point where my tongue was numb and I could barely taste. I remained dizzy for about 8 or nine days but the numbness subsided for a few days. While this was happening, I went to my GP who ordered a slew of blood tests to check B12 levels, Iron levels, blood glucose, thyroid, electrolytes, and for auto immune diseases (RA, lupus etc).....all of which came back negative.
Thanks CCF Neuro MD and thanks for all the followup posts. I think I'm going to try waiting this out but it's tough because I can't go anywhere where significant walking is required. My right leg starts getting too weak/heavy/stiff and is uncomfortable. Also over the last week I've been getting periodic stiffness of my jaw -- that's the best way I can describe it. I keep telling myself, "it's just anxiety, it'll go away" but too many times, it doesn't. I guess time will tell.
Last Friday I couldn't sleep five minutes my arms were so tingling and numb. I went to the ER they did a CT scan and head and neck x-rays and a cbc. They said everything was normal, the ER doctor said I had an extra rib on one of my vertebrae which might be the problem. They referred me to a Neurologist. I went to the neurologist on the following Monday he set me up with a cervical MRI. The Neurologist didn't think the rib was anything.
I have occasions of numbness in my jaw, tongue and extremities. Numbness first started on my right side of my body. Then a week later the left side became involved. These symptoms come and go but are becoming more frequent. Loss of coordination at times which includes dropping things that I thought I had a grip on to the inability to walk a straight line. Furthermore, I walk about a mile every day. At times, which will last for several seconds, stinging behind my left eye has occurred.
Hi to all! I would like to share some things that have happened to me recently, but need to start at the beginning. In 2000, I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease and had herniated discs at C4, 5 and 6. My neurosurgeon recommended Anterior Cervical Fusion - and I agreed. The surgery was uncomplicated and appeared successful.
Testicles slightly reddened, shinier than normal, but also usually slightly moist. Swollen inner cheeks and sometimes tongue. Very white tongue/soar throat/thrush symptoms Almost all symptoms worsen in sun and heat exposure, including if I induce the heat by working out (can be in a cool room). Contracted from one incidence of oral sex with girlfriend, unknowing that we had oral herpes, which MUST have been contracted via wine glasses with someone who just finished outbreak.
For a person who is experiencing this for the first time...it can be VERY upsetting and disturbing. I was there before as well...the first time I went through this, I was convinced there was something wrong with my eyes. Everything just "looked" so weird, so odd. I almost felt like I was having out of body experiences...or was watching the world through a movie projector, instead of through my own eyes and mind.
Well, I have a long history, so I'll try to make it brief and to the point. My tingling began back in 1988 in my hands and feet. I saw a neurologist who performed many tests which included MRI of brain and cervical and thorasic spine, evoked potentials, EEG - all of which were negative. I also would have on and off an incredible pain in my head - more on my scalp and if you would rub it, it would worsen. He said they were tension headaches - but I can tell you they weren't.
There's so little on Tramadol or Ultram on the web. Tons on other drugs. Ok so the most alarming part of the Tramadol we would think would be the fact that it is a synthetic opiate. It's a Narcotic. It's just been slipped thru the schedule. The Opiate aspect of Tramadol is why if you google,"Home Opiate Withdrawal," the techniques found there actually do work! But that's not the most alarming part of Tramadol in my case.
Acute hep typeA 1961 5y.o. Acute hep typeB 1973. Third case of acute hep late 1973 - MD said couldn't be A or B since these were resolved and I had antibodies, shrugged it off as 'toxic hep'. 1992 biopsy dx nonA/nonB and presence of A and B antibodies. 2001 biopsy 'no cirrhosis, mild fibrosis' genotype 3e HCV. Tx: Peg-Intron weight dosed for 220+ lb, 1200 mg riba weeks 1-19, 800 mg wks. 20-24. Oct '02 - Apr. '03. Post-tx: All labs back to normal and feeling great one month post-tx.
For the last 4+ years I have been experiencing the above symptoms every day all day. I was hospitalized once for weakness and dizziness resulting in me falling down. Some tests done include: MRI, CT scan, 3 thyroid tests, some tests on my heart, blood pressure and 5 vials of blood for other blood work. I went to see a neurologist as well. Nothing has shown up. My doctor has given me no other course of action or diagnosis. Blurred vision and head pressure seem very related.
After reading your post, I could not believe how strangely similar our symptoms are. I am 22 and just started having these episodes a few months ago. It begins with severe confusion, very hard to explain. I cant seem to say what i am thinking at the time. I have trouble thinking full thoughts and cannot express them properly. For example, I couldnt speak but i kept saying "I cant hear.
As a result, I have collated as much information I can about this drug, including side affects and withdrawal symptoms and posted them on my new Web site 'Withdrawing from Paxil - An Experience'. I hope you find it useful. The URL is: http://www.swhite.cwc.net/paxil/index.
I told him I had looked at some sites on web md and discovered a few people with similair symptoms and ask if he thought it could possible be candida and he blew his stack and told me I should stay away from sites like web md.but did not answer my question about the candida. If anyone has suffered a condition similair to this and you have information, please inform me. Thanks.
I call it clown tongue--especially when both sides of the tongue are involved. Right now my thumb is swollen. I think maybe I have clown thumb.
Posted By CCF CARDIO MD JMF on July 29, 1999 at 13:55:03 Dear Terese, I would be concerned about your symptoms. It sounds on the surface that you may have Raynaud's however, Raynaud's does not typically cause lightheadedness. Typically, patients with Raynauds will have their extremities go from white to blue to red. Your sympotms sound somewhat atypical. The pounding in your head may be related to migraines which may be a component of Raynauds.
