Novolog samples

Common Questions and Answers about Novolog samples

novolog

Our endo said they are soooo similar in structure that it should make no difference. But he agreed to let us try Novolog. Sites immediately lasted 3 days on Novolog with no probs, and sometimes he can get 4 days (if it's a very hectic day on site change day, we will let it slide one more day if his readings are good). Been on Novolog ever since. If your endo will work with you on this, see if you can get a sample bottle to try.
i have been on novolog for several years, thought it was working good, in these several years i have been sweating excessively, even in below zero weather here in mich, i would sweat walking to my store, dr could not explain why, tried all the different pills i take, finally asked dr if i could switch to humalog, with his okay and a coulple of sample pens my sweating has decreased 90 percent, has anyone else had this problem while taking insulin?
I did not accidentally inject Novolog. These were both brand new bottles used for the first time, stored correctly in the refrigerator and well within the expiration date. Once was with the solostar pen and the other time it was with a vial. Neither time did I hit a vein. Both times it took me 2 days to figure out that it was the insulin. And both times, as soon as I threw out the 'new' bottle and started a different bottle everything was fine.
I think the problem centers on the fac that she is on Novolog and NPH in the morning and then she is on Novolog and Lantusin the evening. NPH lasts 12-18 hours and Lantus lasts 18-26 hours. I think those doses are overlapping. My question to the Dr. would be why is she on Lantus and NPH??!?!?!?!? It is important to note that a diluted blood sample will produce a diluted reading.
, BLOCKED NEEDLE?? THIS HAPPENED WHEN I FIRST STARTED USING NOVOLOG MIX 70/30 FLEXPEN [APRIL 2009] NORDISK SUGGESTED THAT EITHER THE SAMPLE PEN(S) WERE BAD OR THEY WERE NOT STORED PROPERLY [REFRIGERATED} AT THE DOCS OFFICE !! STOPPED USING SAMPLES UNTIL MY ORDER CAME IN .. PROBLEM STILL OCCURS!!
My fasting blood sugar is extremely high 450+ every day, currently I'm doing Lantus but it does little good. I was doing Novolog 100 units a day but that didn't work either. I watch my diet and before I walked several miles a day. If this continues I'm going to lose the use of my legs completely but I don't know what I can do. I was on the sliding scale and I was given myself 10 + injections a day but that too failed to lower it.
Also remember that doctors and hospitals often provide samples, as well as the health department. I've heard about hospital charity programs that can help with various things as well but don't have any personal experience dealing with them. You would need to call a hospital's business office or financial aid office and ask about charity care programs. God Bless You & Hope this helps!
I was on an insulin pump but now take oral meds and sliding scale Novolog insulin. Mathias has blood sugars well into the 400's and can drop right back to 170-200 range within an hour. I agree that MODY is probably less cruel to children than type 1 but it seems like not enough in known about it to effectively control it. If anyone knows of any experts here is the U.S., please email me ***@****.
So, along with metformin, I took the victoza shots 3x daily for one month (the length of the free sample he gave me) and WOW did I love it. I never felt sick and I never felt hungry. In fact, I was often dragging by the end of the day because I'd had no food nor desire for food. I had to literally make myself eat. I lost 15 lbs and then I went to fill the prescription. It was a no-go. This medicine cost $429/month at my local Walgreens. I can't afford that every month.
