Avatar f tn I am confused by the drug RAMIPRIL. The leaflet in box and details in British Formulary list WEIGHT LOSS as a side effect (I have lost 6 kilos). On the Internet there are many letters regarding weight gain but nothing about weeight loss. Why is this?
Avatar f tn I was put on Ramipril 5mg as my BP was high. Wondering how long it takes to work. My pulse is low a 59 but my BP is still high. Is this normal? Im worried if they put the dose up my pulse will go even lower.
544430 tn?1283712658 I am not familiar with Ramipril, so, unfortunately, can't speak to that. I've read posts here where people take a specific type of levothyroxine and have side effects from the dyes in the pill, so that's a possibility. However, I think further work up is probably warranted.
1020296 tn?1251475359 doctor prescribed some medicines which includes baclofen, ramipril, clopidogrel, amolodipine , atenolol, atorvastatin and escitolopram. after taking medicines her pulse rate has gone to 45-50 range and blood pressure is still 160/120. I'd like to ask why pulse rate is going low..is it due to side effect of medicines..
Avatar f tn Novo-Nordisk will supply her with insulin and glucagen, but only if she does not qualify for Medicaid. http://www.novonordisk-us.com/documents/article_page/document/Patient_Assistance_DBM.asp In most states, if she is under 18 she will qualify for assistance with very small ($10 in Michigan) monthly premiums if your family income is low enough and you have no other insurance coverage.
Avatar f tn I have kidney failure (Gfr generally between 40 and 50 but recently closer to 40), and also crohns which has been in remission for years but has recently been shown to be very active. My problem is for about 12 months now I have been prescribed ramipril for my kidneys and high blood pressure, but in the last few months and weeks (it seems to me since crohns has become active) it is making me feel absolutely terrible.
Avatar f tn My cardiologist put me on ramipril a few wks back and after 10 days ran blood tests whic came back normal. this morning I woke up with diarriah and some serious kidney pain on the right side.It doesn't hurt when I urinate or have a bowel movement although certain body movements cause it to occur. My question is can this be caused by ramipril along with my lasix and potassium with a delayed reaction or buildup?
Avatar m tn Taking Ramipril In morning for several years. Recently started taking Laxido & banana (for breakfast). About the same time started coughing frequently but intermittently & became slightly breathless when walking. 2 days ago doctor called Emergency as I had persistent chest pain & burping. No heart attack but abnormal ecg, which however improved after being in A&E for several hours. Wondering if Ramipril + laxido + banana too much potassium?
Avatar f tn more and more i see ramipril 2.5 ordered to help kidney function...could you elaborate for my own knowledge please...
Avatar m tn Thank you jrbon. Yes, we are completely aware the part/size of damage of the heart muscle will have the impact on the LVEF. You have mentioned the biggest part of recovery takes place between 6-3 months. After the HA she had, last week was the first time we took the echo, which is precisely 3 months and 2 weeks after the HA, with an increase of 2%. Is it too early to predict by looking at this measure? I heard the ejection rate anything greater than or equal to 50% is good.
544430 tn?1283712658 i am taken 5mg of ramipril and 50micrograms thyroxine,daily..... i have an occasional cough...the DR says it is caused by Ramipril but cant change my med because im been treated for Excema which i've had now for 18 mths..
Avatar m tn If the current practice to produce resistance by mono-therapy continues too long, there could be a substantial percentage of de novo infections with resistant variants from day one, those could be a real problem.
Avatar f tn Also, it is rather itchy and is quite dry and peeling. They have prescribed antibiotics; Novo-Cloxin for five days and Novo-Clindamycin for fifteen days. After I started the second one, it seemed to be getting better, but then did not fully heel. Whenever I put hand cream on, it gets red and inflamed. There is also some on the tops of my toes, which has mostly heeled, but not fully gone away. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn I just started to take ramipril at night and now my bood pressure is elevated in the morning. I used to take it in the morning and my bp was higher in the evening.
Avatar m tn I also tale predisilon ,Azithiopring,Ramipril,Aspring. But my Doctor says i have to take this drugs for ever. Now they stopped predisilon . can't be HSP cure?
Avatar f tn That's what we're wondering. The doctors said the ramipril is not just for blood pressure but is also for his weak heart to see if it improves the EF. They've sent him for additional tests and even recommended a higher dose of ramipril despite the fact that his oxygen level was 114 when he did the bicycle test. The doctor kept talking about him being in a state of heart failure which is very unsettling.
Avatar n tn Is it possible to have such a big difference at doctors office and home. I am on Ramipril - 2.5 mg for the past month and a half. I start to get nervous the morning of my appointment. Any advise on this would be appreciate.
Avatar m tn Thank you for your reply, I'm aware of Symlin and Byetta, but neither My Dr. and what information I can gather on the web works as well as Victoza. I understand Byetta is coming out with a medication that lasts much longer but it uses a larger needle and is truly an injection. Don't understand why these drug companies in the US price their product out of reach of most....
Avatar m tn m using Lantus 24hr along with Novo Rapid insulin for meals because pills are bad for my kidney and liver in the long-term (so says doctor). I've been having a lot of hypoglycemia recently too. But my question here is about Masturbation in relationship with glucose levels. What effect does it have on diabetics and any info. concerning this relationship is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Tom.
Avatar f tn I had to stop taking ramipril 1.25mg after a week due to various side effects. thurs I had severe shaking or chills etc. so stopped it on advice but 4 days later feeling bit better but I keep feeling funny. its like my head feels funny and the feeling like your lightheaded - going to faint or collapse but not quite and doesn't go away.
Avatar m tn I am now taking Ramipril to reduce the HBP. A few days every week I stop in at one of the many local pharmacies in the area and take my readings. These pharmacies almost all use the same monitor - the Lifeclinic/Vita-Stat LC300. Safeway uses the PharmaSmart PS-1000. They are all pretty consistent, one-to-the other. Most days my systolic reading is under 140.
Avatar m tn I am a 25 year diabetic (type I) who recently tried to give blood. I was given an "indefinite deferral letter" by the red cross because i used insulin made from beef products manufactured by squibb/novo. apparantly I can't give blood til i convince them that none of the beef came from the british isles due to the possibility of mad cow disease.

976897 tn?1379167602 My Ramipril is hardly working now, it looks as though I'm becoming immune to its effects. My current BP is around 145/105 and sometimes higher. Is there a natural substance which helps with BP that anyone knows of? Or, do I need to ask the Doctor to change me to another med?
