Not eating while teething

Common Questions and Answers about Not eating while teething

eating

Avatar n tn Milk should be given at all meals instead of juice, especially if he is not eating the meals that well. If you want him to have juice (100% juice), then give it (in a cup) with a healthy snack in the afternoon. The bottle at night is fine if he will not give that up or give him an evening snack with milk just before bed. Hope that helps you.
Avatar n tn i have a 18 week french bulldog puppy who is not eating properly , we feed him royal canin puppy food with some soft food mixed and about a week ago he started to leave the dry food and just eat the soft food out of his bowl ,now he isnt eating that much at all seems to just sniff his food and walk away them pick at it later in the day whereas normally he would eat it as soon as it was put in his bowl.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle my 3-year-old mini dachshund eating through the drywall? I'm wondering if she is lacking something and that's why this is happening. Please help!! My house looks horrible!
621803 tn?1302888341 I'm having this problem as well. If you find anything that works, let me know please!!
3605625 tn?1385017548 So Bailey is 7 months old now and he's got his 2 bottom teeth, and has just cut through his 1st top tooth, and he has been really miserable. What bothers me the most is he's really off his food at the moment, and is only wanting his bottle every 3 hours. Do you think this is normal? I can't remember going through this with my other kids 10 years ago, i'm sure they still ate normally, but Bailey doesn't seem to be eating much at all.
1429890 tn?1312386007 He has a runny nose and coughs now and then not a whole lot. I been making sure he stays hydrated, eats, gets plenty of rest, and doesn't come into contact with his 1 month old brother. I'm writing this 2day cause I'm not sure if its the stomach bug or something else. Someone told me that when they are teething they can have the same symptoms. He hasn't been throwing up but did spit up his orange juice this morning. I've been keeping an eye on him. He hasn't had fever.
16287416 tn?1446697569 I had him when he was about 3 weeks, the mother abandoned him, and I gave him a bottle until about a month ago. He is now eating canned Pate food and I am about to start with softened dry food. Every once in awhile, he will grab my fingers, lick each one, and choose which one to suck on. Then he would fall asleep sucking on it. I've even caught him sucking on my sweatshirt strings or something small on the floor. Is this normal?
964234 tn?1331949207 I'd say maybe teething BUT since you are leaving town better to see the dr now.
1431138 tn?1294566894 He is starting a growth spurt in week 6 which means cluster feeding where they will often eat every hour.
Avatar f tn I think you should take him to the doctor to get him checked out as something is hurting, he may be teething are his gums red, sometime teeth dont come in till a year old this isnt unusual, has he any diarrea or constipation, is he being breast or bottle fed ?
1556526 tn?1299298941 she is teething even thou no teeth have broken thru yet so i am curious if this can be linked to teething? her ears were checked st last visit and they were good so not ear infection. she reaches behind ear and pinches like something is there?
9704378 tn?1553726192 My daughter is going on 4 months next wk. When I see her chewing on her hands, I automatically think that she's hungry. There are times where she'll eat, & times she won't. The times she won't, I figure that she's cranky. Then, I rock her. She goes to sleep. It seems like she's sleeping more than eating. She still makes wet & dirty diapers, but I feel like she's not eating as much anymore. Should I be worried?
99457 tn?1321878677 Awwww.....poor little girl :-( Those teethers that you can stick in the fridge are always great. And I must admit....when things get really bad, I'm all about the baby Orajel ;-) I found these things called teething tablets at a natural food store and used them with my first son (haven't with my second son yet, because he's only JUST started teething...he's 3.5 months old).
Avatar f tn I have heard that teething can cause tummy upsets, have you been eating/drinking anything differant or unusual as that can go into breastmilk and affect their digestion? Are you giving him any meds or solid food ?
Avatar n tn But at the same time, she may just be producing extra saliva from teething or being sick or just plain extra saliva. Kids tend to drool during their sleep as well. I'm sure that she'll be fine but if you're really concerned with this matter, take her to her pediatrician. They'll be able to clarify anything that you may have to ask.
Avatar f tn Both of my babies are teething. I bought some baby oral gel and it helps a little. They don't like taking it but helps them, especially the nightime formula. I bought them 3 different teething binky and teething rings but they are not working. I don't think I am ready for this stages (the more fussy stage)....lol.
94902 tn?1330479667 He can hold his own bottle (but we still hold him while he drinks) so he takes the bottle out of his mouth and plays with the nipple or he bites on the nipple and pulls it out from between his teeth and gums so it kind of pops - and I guess he likes that noise bc he will do it over and over and over! I feel like I have to force the rest of the bottle on him so he gets the 24 oz. Are any of you experienceing this? Or for those of you that have older kids have you experienced this before?
2104110 tn?1358318243 An besides teethn rings what could i use for the pain an as this is my first child, what should i keep an eye out for?
Avatar f tn His height is normal, however, his weight is below the Growth chart for his age. You stated he is teething which some children do not feel well from it. Their appetite can decrease. Suggest you feed him small meals 5-6 times a day to help increase his weight and maybe it will decrease his ‘stomach aches’, as you stated.
540911 tn?1263191014 Yes, I am pregnant now (6 weeks) and still awaiting results to see if I am pregnant with multiples or have a molar pregnancy since my hcg levels were quadrupling every 3 days. Breastfeeding increases your chances 9 fold of having multiples. And yes, now that you mention it, my nipples ARE sore. I thought it was because my son keeps pinching them or maybe is being more rough in eating because he's teething, but maybe it's because I am pregnant. And they seems drier.
571042 tn?1271447141 I gave her tylenol and mylicon just in case and she will not let my husband put her down. I assume it is teething..but usually she chews on her hand and fusses if her teeth are bothering her and she didn't do it at all when she was screaming her head off. Anyone else know about this? Experience this? Any advice on how to make it better for her?
615752 tn?1361867986 about a month ago she had a cold and started eating less but not as badly as the last two and a half weeks. Before that she was eating wonderfully. Now it's a struggle to put a few spoonfuls inside and almost a battle. I have to try and calm myself not trying to force feed her because of the long-term negative effects it can have on her. At birth she weighed, 4.06 kg and was 56 cm long. She has weighed the same since a month.
2181422 tn?1400511380 My son got his first tooth when he was 4 months..
Avatar n tn All I want to do is nap but my 14 month old lady is teething and needing loving on. Gaaaa!! Only 19 weeks to go! This too shall pass.

557111 tn?1219712047 I could not have asked for a better baby. From about 3 months on she slept from 830pm- 6:30pm every nite. Recently, however, she has been getting up all throughout the night, and I have no idea why. My mother, her boyfriend, and my 11yr old sis just moved in to my house. Is it possible she is stressed out? I have been havng some issues of my own also. I am battling a percocet addiction not to mention me and my husband haven't been gettting along too well.
2026902 tn?1369098398 That sounds like teething to me too. Id try giving her tylenol before bed so shes not hurting as bad and can sleep. You can also give it to her through out the day so shes not as fussy due to her teeth hurting her. And of course orajel works wonders. That helped with my lil girl. Good luck!
