You need a certain amount of calories each day to sustain your body and if you don't get enough, your body will hold onto fat because it knows there isn't enough enough calories coming in.

I was annerexic, and the way they had me recover after I left the hostipal was to eat whatever and follow my cravings. So basically they taught me terrible eating habits that I now can't shake off. I really don't want to relapse but I'm very unhappy with my weight right now and want to lose weight in a healthy way.
Avatar f tn I use to feel the same way about eating every 3 hours! It definitely takes some effort to force yourself to eat sometimes, lol:) Everyone is different but I'm sure you'll get use to it. Try to stick to the time and just eat small meals to keep your metabolism up. For example, eat half an apple, a few raw almonds, and piece of string cheese. If you can only eat a few bites of each, at least that's something. Try walking...it'll help burn calories making you hungry.
Avatar f tn I would start with eating a little more. Maybe just 2-300 calories more a day for 2 weeks. That will not make you gain weight. How much are you exercising a week? Hrs and types? Let me know.

Avatar m tn or are you eating too much? remember, to lose 1 pound, you must have a 3500 calorie deficit. divide that over the course of a week and it's like eliminating 500 calories from your total intake each day. so whether the 500 is made up of all exercise or food or a combination of both, you have to make sure there is that deficit. otherwise, even if you exercised for hours a day and then eat like crazy, that won't do you any good.

I'm not too worried because my baby is doing everything its suppose to at this stage and having asmall belly makes it that much easier and exciting to feel every little movement of my little bundle...
Avatar f tn The show The Biggest Loser shows how much weight it is possible to lose in a week, and at most, these people eating a strict diet of mostly vegetables and exercising like crazy, these people lose between 2 and 10 lb a week. Not every week is the higher number, so it probably averages about 6 lb a week. 6 x 8 weeks is 48 lb. But unless you don't work, you don't have time to exercise as much as they do.
Avatar f tn Your not eating enough more likely then not by only eating only one big meal a day your putting your body into starvation mode and when you do eat that final big meal at the end of the day your body instantly stores all the fat and calories into your fat cells because it doesn't know when the next meal will be I suggest that you try harder to make time in your day to sit down and have a proper meal, like with breakfast it only takes ten minuets to eat a bowl of cereal and a peace of fruit.

Avatar n tn Once medical issues are ruled out, you should probably reevaluate what you are eating, how much, etc. Last but not least, you might want to reevaluate whether or not you even really need to low weight. A quick look at a height/weight chart, says you can safely weigh anywhere between 123 and 163, depending on your bone structure.
Avatar f tn You will always find an excuse not to work out. If you tell yourself you don't have the energy or aren't in shape enough, you are not going to lose weight. Cardio is important. Even if you just start by walking for 30 Mins a day and challenge yourself every day you will see more progress.

Avatar n tn You're not eating nearly enough calories and your body appears to be conserving the fat you have, since you're not providing enough food for it. If you continue long enough, you will eventually, lose weight, however, you will lose muscle, not fat and you will not be healthy. You must calculate your calorie needs, based on your current age, weight and height and provide your body with enough nutritious food to be healthy.
Avatar f tn I weighed 226 pre pregnancy weight and dropped down to 205 in my first trimester. I have not gained a single pound but doctor said im fine as long as i keep eating throughout my day. So weird im assuming because im on the heavier side i have plenty to nourish the baby..haha =) are you having a girl or boy?
Avatar n tn Its important to be checked out by your doc first to make sure you are healthy and there are no underlying health issues to start. If you are healthy and just overweight, start with your diet. You need to eat clean and in smaller portions but leave enough room for splurging a small bit everyday and then a big/better treat once a week so you don't feel deprived. The key is a calorie deficit.

I have been to the gym 6 times this week.....im really determined to lose weight the correct way.
