I recently started the Norvir, Reyataz, Truvada combo. This is my first time taking "the meds" after being hiv + for 20 years. I have been on them for only 11 days. I have weird side effects: headaches, queasy stomach, and fatigue/weakness. I told my doctor, and he said, to "tough it out for another week, and he'll see if he needs to change the combination, or switch meds.

It is also a good first line combo which is given because of its effectiveness and reduced side effects. I just think you are taking toxic amounts of those two drugs and a reduction might take care of all of your problems. I feel much better than before meds, from time to time I have soar throat, nothing serious though. I didnt notice any significant side effects except temporary diarrhoea. After 2 months of therapy CD4+ stood at 473 (18,0%)) but VL decreased to 800. Then, my recent results (oct 13) showed this: VL further decreased to 144 but CD4+ remained at 473 (17,9%). What do you think of my results? VL is decreasing but I am concerned about CD4 +. I see no improvement there.

My Doctor change my meds to first Issentris and Truvada but I was unable to manage with the side effects. So he changed me to Stribild and I had a hard time with this medication also. So now I am back my old regiment and things are the same with no strength and a lot of fatigue. I have been to see a orthopedic and his tests come up negative. My doctors are becoming a lot less sympathetic and they seem to be giving up.

Your question is a good one as there are many medication interactions which can make drugs work less well or increase the risk of side effects. Fortunately, these are not common for most of the drugs used for PEP. there are no interactions I am aware of between Prozac and the medications you mention. Parenthetically, one way to minimize the likelihood that uncommon medication interactions is to make sure that you are using the same pharmacy to get your prescriptions filled.

Initial counts were 423 viral load (not thousands - just 423) but T cell was 398. Immediately went undetectable. Put on Fortavase, Combivir, Norvir. Soon switched to just Fortavase 8 bid, combivir 1 bid. over time decreased to just 1 fortavase bid and 1 combivir bid. Been up in 700 - 900 T cell the whole time. No one can explain to me why numbers were odd to begin with. Also now that fortavase is off market my doc wants to switch me to Invirase, Combivir and Norvir.

Went down to 50 and continued to rise, but went ahead and finished out TX with no side effects. in June but finished out TX. BX before TX of HCV in Jan '07 was 1/1. Ending LAP-BX done after TX in Dec.'07 was 0/1 ( minimal damage still with some reversal.) Nuts and dried fruit, nut butters, vegan cheese, keep your calories and fat intake up, since you are taking Riba, keep your water intake up too. Avoid most herbal teas, and caffeine, of course. Lots of small meals a day really helps, every 2 hours or so. Drinking the water really is important. I craved salt too, probably because of all the water. Rest, don't over do it, take small breaks during the day if possible. I found I couldn't do any exercise other than stretching.

I started taking PEP on august 4th. I take truvada norvir and reyataz. I went to get a rapid antibody hiv test today and was negative. Should I still be worried and stressed? I haven't slept much since this happened.

I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.

Many AD's have side effects that affect the libido, guess it applies to both sex es. As far as I know all AD's have this drastic effect . Hopefully you'll find one that's OK for you . Good luck.

AND CONTRARY TO WHAT DOCTORS SAY, I'M ALWAYS CONSTIPATED.

Does anyone know of any side effects from using the circulation booster. I have the opportunity to buy a second hand one, but my brother believes it can't be good for your muscles to zap them so to speak, like it will confuse your muscles.

Hi. I am on week 60/72, second round of treatment. I was really really sick after shot for first few months and then this resolved and became tolerable at least. I now find that I am having these same significant side effects later in tx. This didn't happen last round, but I went 48 then. Anyone else have this happen?

i had similar side effects when coming off the depo shot. I thought i was pregnant and took 3 tests. they went away but it took about 6mo. My docs checked my hormones and pituitary gland and they we all fine. It's probably not the effexor but ck w/ your doc anyway.

I just googled Avastin side effects are there are many sites that have lots of info on there. Also, you could google the manufacturer or ask your oncology center for some fact sheets.... Just a thought.

Cancer removed May 22, 2007, chemo July 2nd through October 8, 2007, and radiation on left breast November 2nd through December 26, 2008. Side effect from Taxol perminent numb toes, side effects so far from Tamoxifen body temperature changes of warmth then cold. The web page sites and telephone numbers did not have this information.

I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
