1243333 tn?1296446902 I have extensive CAD with mutiplable stent placement in the past 22 months, and have high blood pressure (Usally 180/110 And higher), what effect does the high blood pressure have on CAD and angina. I am on bp meds. (norvasc, imdur, toprol XL, spirolactone, valturna, cattapress tts, iron, dexilant & carfate).
Avatar f tn Mother just started on Norvasc already on Tenormin. Now I've heard there is a problem with the two drugs together causing heart failure. Is that really happening? Please my mother will stop Norvasc unneccassarily if I can't find out the real information about this. She is limited on drug options so this is important. Thanks so very much.

Avatar f tn and was rescued from the streets in houston. she has renal failure and has really bad teeth. 681148 tn?1437661591 I was hospitalized myself for the first time ever with renal failure back in September. To this day the nephrologist hasn't been able to figure out what the cause of the renal failure was or why the kidneys are only almost back to normal, but won't quite get to normal. I also have Oral Allergy Syndrome, GERD/IBS, Celiac, MCS and asthma and possibly CFS/FMS. I've been reading some information about hursutism and its connection to the cortisol produced by the adrenal glands.
Avatar n tn My cat, Miss Kitty has just died from renal failure. We did not notice any symptoms except weight loss and as she was about 14,, we attributed this to being older. She was still active and eating, until one Friday night when she collapsed. We took her to an excellent vet who gave her aggressive treatment over a period of weeks, including IV fluids, saline, blood supplements, phosphorus blocker, CCRF supplements, KD cat food, and we also gave her Astro Oil.
Avatar n tn Renal failure may be either chronic or acute. Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) is a progressive, irreversible deterioration of kidney function. Because cats hide their illnesses and the very early signs of CRF are subtle, this disease may only be recognized when the patient reaches the 70% deterioration level and more dramatic symptoms are observable. The seemingly sudden onset may appear to be an acute condition but is most often a crisis point of CRF.
Avatar f tn yesterday we noticed a patch of hair gone so took him to the vet had all the blood work done and this morning we received a call saying Tye was in renal failure and may only have a few months to live.we brought him into the vet to get SUB Q fluids and this is needed for the next few days he will get a special diet and have to take a water pill and antiacid as well as another medication i cant remember what it is called let alone what it is use for.
Avatar m tn I have 2 twin jack Russell terriers. today I was told one of them has renal failure. vet wanted to eutho him then and there. was totally unprepared. I brought him back home cause I can't afford the costs for an attempt to save him, which I know there is zero salvation. my question is this. I bought these twin brothers from a breeder at 12 weeks. they have never been apart since their birth. always butt and butt when they sleep. 11 yrs old.
Avatar m tn I did not want to go on meds, so I begged for a renin-aldosterone test and the aldosterone was up, so they did a renal doppler which showed a blocked in the left renal artery that was very severe. I had tons of problems trying 5 different types of bp meds - the worst were the calcium channel blockers (norvasc, plendil) as they sent me to the ER with a cluster headache so bad, I wanted to just die and they raised my bp to 250/135. This was on the lowest dosage of each. I was also vomiting.
1047522 tn?1258145704 Transplant is already listed as a treatment option on the Kidney Tracker. You have removed it from your tracker through customized settings. We'll add all the other ones you've requested to the Kidney Tracker and let you know when they're available.
Avatar f tn She had been put on a new bp med Clonodine a week or so ago in addition to her others. The er dr after consulting with moms nephrologist added Norvasc too. She is now on 7 meds for her BP. Her BP seems to sky rocket in the evenings. We are at a loss of what to do. She is thinking of being hospitalized so they can monitor and get everything controlled in the hospital. They gave her that option last week. She has no appetite, and will not drink much at all.
Avatar m tn Renal anomalies could be responsible for decreased or deranged renal function and may lead to renal failure. One working kidney is enough for normal functions of the body. It would be difficult to comment if your other symptoms could be related. I would suggest discussing the situation and the suggested management plan in detail with your treating nephrologist. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn This is the first bp med that worked a bit for me, as the calcium channel blockers (norvasc and plendil which caused vomiting) gave me suicidal (that's what they called them) cluster headaches and elevated my bp to 250/135. I'm scared that if i missed the night dose i might have a stroke (i read that on one of the boards if u suddenly stop taking bp meds you could have a stroke).
Avatar n tn I am so sorry to hear your baby is in renal failure. We lost our baby Sandy Grace (a beautiful yellow lab) to renal kidney failure on February 6. It is so very hard. We took Sandy Grace to a specialist and she told us that she had not heard of any transplants in dogs that had been successful. She said the studies she had done showed that many times they have not made it through surgery, and for others died soon after surgery.
512560 tn?1222560127 Chronic renal failure is a gradual and progressive loss of the ability of the kidneys to excrete wastes, concentrate urine, and conserve electrolytes.Alternative names are Kidney failure - chronic; Renal failure - chronic; Chronic renal insufficiency; CRF; Chronic kidney failure. It most often results from any disease that causes gradual loss of kidney function. It can range from mild dysfunction to severe kidney failure . Progression may continue to end-stage renal disease.
Avatar m tn The EF below 30% is heart failure range and that can cause renal failure. Early complications of cardiac insufficiency include renal vasoconstriction and the development of sodium and water retention, which are hallmarks of the very early stages of congestive heart failure. Heart failure is a physiologically delicate condition in which therapy is designed to block the sodium retention and simultaneously interrupt excessively activated neurohumoral mechanisms.
Avatar f tn We have a puppy diagnosed with early renal failure. He is currently on Hills LD diet. (KD isn't recommended for growing puppies; our vet asked Hills what we should feed and they said LD has reduced protein, easily digestible.) He likes this well enough to eat it, but not well enough to use for training treats. Do any of you know of small, chewy, low protein, low phosphorus treats? Thanks!
963889 tn?1359677334 Renal cortical thinning is usually indicative of chronic renal failure as opposed to acute renal failure. The high white cell count and increased counts in the urine indicate an infection. So, to sum up the results show findings of chronic renal failure with hypoalbuminemia and probably an infection. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn Polycystic kidney invovles highblood pressure, aneurysms, and eventually kidney failure. Go see a nephrologist that specializes in the kidney.
Avatar n tn It is possible to have acute renal failure and still have normal-sized kidneys. Renal atrophy may result from chronic renal disease or infection, as well as other conditions such as narrowing of renal arteries or obstruction of urinary tract.
1531001 tn?1292034237 If your Yorkie is in chronic renal failure she will require nursing care at home and may have to have in-hospital fluid therapy every now and then. Several days to up to 10 days of in-hospital fluid therapy and other care is often very helpful for those with chronic renal failure. It is the doggie equivalent of human diuresis. If the creatinine and urea nitrogen levels do not become decrease following the in-hospital fluid therapy the prognosis may be poor.
3093770 tn?1389739126 As of 9/1/2011 the only known risk of NSF is in patients with renal failure in pre and post liver transplant patients. For us pre-transplant patients they measure our creatinine before each MRI to make sure our kidneys are functioning well enough before we receive an MRI with Gadolinium. For us with liver cancer it is critical that out cancer is monitored every 3 months with MRI and contrast as that is the best way to diagnosis hepatocellular carcinoma tumors.
Avatar f tn We were told yesterday that our wonderfully spirited Jack Russell terrier was somehow poisoned and has been diagnosed with acute renal failure. Our Bailey is only 4 years old. The vet kept her overnight, flushing her system in the hopes of lowering her B.U.N. level, which is 91. We were contacted today and told we could bring Bailey home. She still has a catheter in her forearm with some kind of medicine drip that we were told we could take out tomorrow.
