Have you been dx'd with Raynaud's disorder? Doctors don't completely understand the cause of Raynaud's attacks, but blood vessels in the hands and feet appear to overreact to cold temperatures or stress (vasospasm cause is not completely understood either).. Raynaud's is a condition that causes some areas of your body — such as your fingers, toes, tip of your nose and your ears — to feel numb and cool in response to cold temperatures or stress.
I have had many strange symptoms- sometimes extreme fatigue/malaise, aches all over, mild petechiae, headaches, neck pain, muscle twitches, etc. These symptoms come and go. During a particularly bad "flare" my dr. did bloodwork and found +ANA 1:320 speckled. I saw a rheumy who said nothing was wrong with me but did additional bloodwork which came back normal except for +ANA again (didn't show levels) and barely positive anti-Smith (normal was 0-.9 and I tested at 1.
I was on Norvasc but my Dr. changed to Cardizem, I have trouble swalloing and the Norvasc dissolved in my mouth quickly to make it easier to take, the Cardizem Er is a big capsule that is hard to take, should I ask my Dr to go back on Norvasc?? they both seem to work equally well....
Is okay to take 2.5 mg of Norvasc, 120mg Cardizem and Topamax?

Mother just started on Norvasc already on Tenormin. Now I've heard there is a problem with the two drugs together causing heart failure. Is that really happening? Please my mother will stop Norvasc unneccassarily if I can't find out the real information about this. She is limited on drug options so this is important. Thanks so very much.
I'm a 64 yrs. old woman who used to take Diovan 320 mg. & Toprol 50 mg. for my B.P. My B.P. readings was okay but my Doctor discontinued the Toprol because my heart rate usually on the 40's. I am currently taking Norvasc 5mg. with the Diovan 320 mg. So far, my B.P. readings is very good, 110/70. But eversince I started the Norvasc, my left leg is swelling and it is becoming worst. I'd like to ask my Doctor to discontinue the Norvasc.
It was decided to add Norvasc 5mg INSTEAD of Nifedipine, since Norvasc was used/tolerated well in the past. Began taking Norvasc 5mg along with Lorsartan 100mg and Atenolol 25mg (all 1x daily) approximately 3 days ago, and the blood pressure is still running extremely high. This morning reading was 186/85 and tonight 176/110!!! Worried that this can be dangerous. What should be done? How long until the BP goes to a "normal" range? Does the doctor need to increase the Norvasc dosage?
The cath I had on July 15th of this year indicated that the spasm spot on the circumflex artery was all healed but there was a new one formed on another artery. I am on 5mg of Norvasc, take Nitro as needed, aspirin and lovastatin and Zoloft. I have problems with low blood pressure so doing a continous nitro patch lowers my blood pressure too much. They may try me on a very low dose of Imdur if I continue getting the angina. I am at wit's end as to what is causing this.
When I take the generic for Norvasc, my feet swell; this does not happen when I do not take the medication. Will natural diaretics help with this. My diastolic pressure hovers around 90; systolic comes down easily with the Norvasc; diastolic is slower to respond.
I have started taking Norvasc for Hypertension and am having side effects such as nausea, headache, and it seems to be causing some eye pain and pressure. My concern is that I had retinal detachment surgery in March of 2008 and have not had any pain until I started taking Norvasc 5mg. daily. 9 170 but my blood pressure is always fine at home i do suffer from anxiety but it goes thru the roof when i see a doctor or go to the ER i am 27 years old, i have to see a doc once a week for another condition, but it never fails my pulse and BP rises very high in doctors settings, once i come home both my pulse and pressure is fine again , my worry and problem is how much damage is being done to my heart when my blood pressure spikes like this once a week?

For 3yrs I had controlled HT w/Lisin/HCTZ 20/25 & Norvasc 5mg. I was a very healthy 44yo Fe, 4'10 110lbs. In Jan 07 my ins co said they wanted me to switch from Norvasc to Lotrel because they were "the same". My Dr kept me on the Lisin/HCTZ & added Lotrel 5/40. 12 days later I collapsed. At the ER my BP was 56/48, I was discharged 3 hrs later at 80/54. Things haven't been the same since.
I suffered with angina for several years. Recently, I had angina that would wake me out of a dead sleep. It was diagnosed as vasospasms. I was put on Norvasc a month ago. I haven't has any angina, stable or variant. Norvasc works great for me. I have some swelling and slight dizziness with the Novasc, but the benefits far out weigh the side effects.
I asked him if there was a medication that is commonly combined with Atenolol, and he suggested the generic for Norvasc, 5mg.
So I've been taking 5mg on top of my Atenolol for about a week, and I've actually noticed that my blood pressure has been a bit more elevated, not to mention I feel a bit crappy in general and anxious. I'm not sure if this is my body attempting to balance itself with the Norvasc but I never thought that it would make my blood pressure worse.
The pain is relieved by a medicine called nitroglycerin (dilates coronary vessels). You have been prescribed norvasc and that should relieve any chest pains. Norvasc is in a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It dilates blood vessels and slows the heart to reduce blood pressure and the pain of angina. Calcium channel blockers may be needed long term. Medications may also include beta-blockers. However, in some cases of spastic angina, beta-blockers may be harmful.
I just got out of the hospital after an episode of severe chest pains, dizziness, and pain down my arms and into my neck. I had a series of tests. several ekg's x-rays, an echo, a treadmill stress test, and an angio. the stress test was abnormal. the ekgs are showing PVC's, and the angio was normal. the cardiologist is thinking that it is the endothelials that are causing the pain. they put me o n 5 mg of norvasc, and zocor because they found my ldl's were 180.
I suffer from freezing hands and feet almost all the time regardless of whether or not i wear gloves/socks. Its also accompanied by blue/purple colouration of my feet, hands and fingernails. Im not sure if its Raynaud's or nerve degeneration as i have lost feeling in the extremities to the point i cant determine hot from cold and a general numbness and clumbsiness. I am worried that the condition might spread also.
My mother is diagnose with unstable angina a month a ago and the doctor asked us to monitor her blood pressure since she is discharged from the hospital her blood pressure is always normal but there are sometimes that her bp is 100/50 and last day her bp is 120/40 she is 71 years old and taking medications such as norvasc. lipitor,aspirin, imdur or ISMN and losartan. Please help me is it normal for her age? Thank you...
