I also have chest pains and shortness of breath and fatigue along with the coldness spreading to my legs along with leg heaviness, cramps and weakness when walking. I have been referred to a cardiologist. What is the treatment for severe vasospasms? Could this mean I am having vasospasms everywhere including coronary vasospasms? Although I am young, does my family history of premature cardiovascular disease warrant other tests to resolve my condition?

I was on Norvasc but my Dr. changed to Cardizem, I have trouble swalloing and the Norvasc dissolved in my mouth quickly to make it easier to take, the Cardizem Er is a big capsule that is hard to take, should I ask my Dr to go back on Norvasc?? they both seem to work equally well....
Is okay to take 2.5 mg of Norvasc, 120mg Cardizem and Topamax?

I was diagnosed with hypertension/high BP in June when the nurse at work sent me to ER with a BP of 210/120. I was immediately put on Norvasc 10mg and HCTZ 25mg daily. My pressure came down to 160/80 and after seeing my doc he said come back in 6 months. After questioning why I had high blood pressure and not getting any answers I asked to see another doc and he added Lisinopril 10mg and said come back in 6 months. Since then BP has been steady at 130's/40's.
Mother just started on Norvasc already on Tenormin. Now I've heard there is a problem with the two drugs together causing heart failure. Is that really happening? Please my mother will stop Norvasc unneccassarily if I can't find out the real information about this. She is limited on drug options so this is important. Thanks so very much.
It was decided to add Norvasc 5mg INSTEAD of Nifedipine, since Norvasc was used/tolerated well in the past. Began taking Norvasc 5mg along with Lorsartan 100mg and Atenolol 25mg (all 1x daily) approximately 3 days ago, and the blood pressure is still running extremely high. This morning reading was 186/85 and tonight 176/110!!! Worried that this can be dangerous. What should be done? How long until the BP goes to a "normal" range? Does the doctor need to increase the Norvasc dosage?
When I take the generic for Norvasc, my feet swell; this does not happen when I do not take the medication. Will natural diaretics help with this. My diastolic pressure hovers around 90; systolic comes down easily with the Norvasc; diastolic is slower to respond.
I have started taking Norvasc for Hypertension and am having side effects such as nausea, headache, and it seems to be causing some eye pain and pressure. My concern is that I had retinal detachment surgery in March of 2008 and have not had any pain until I started taking Norvasc 5mg. daily. Is this a side effect that is normal and will it subside or is it a reason to discontinue this drug?
Your symptoms may or may not be related to the drug, but at any rate I'd think this is a question best answered by your pharmacist or doctor. From another patient's point of view who has leg swelling and lung fluid, these are serious symptoms and you should check the condition as soon as possible. I'll mention that when my lungs start filling with fluid, I will choke when laying flat (sleeping) and I experience what I call 'cotton-mouth', a foamy, frothy phlem in my throat.
9 170 but my blood pressure is always fine at home i do suffer from anxiety but it goes thru the roof when i see a doctor or go to the ER i am 27 years old, i have to see a doc once a week for another condition, but it never fails my pulse and BP rises very high in doctors settings, once i come home both my pulse and pressure is fine again , my worry and problem is how much damage is being done to my heart when my blood pressure spikes like this once a week?

Lately everytime I am sleeping I am waking up with really painful leg cramps. Yesterday I had to get out of bed to stretch it out and it seemed like it was taking forever to go away. Now today I woke up with one in my other leg.....what can I do to get rid of these? Im constantly stretching my legs, wiggling my toes, and moving my ankles.
Try eating more bananas. I think the potasium in them help w cramps.
I'm 30 weeks & 6 days & I get woke up almost every night by terrible leg cramps. They're not so much in my legs, but more up by my hips. Does anyone else experience this? Is there anything I can do to prevent them?

Every night I've been getting leg cramps And they hurt really bad , it started about two weeks ago idk if it has to do with pregnancy though. .., anyone else have this happen to them ?
