1260320 tn?1270394906 Benicar keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. Benicar HCT has a diuretic included as well. I have been fortunate, Benicar has worked from the first day I took it and works well still today. My 90 day average BP is 108/67 down from 135/85 when I started. I have had no side effects as well, the best of both worlds!
Avatar m tn I have a high blood pressure and I have been to both an endocrinologist and an otorhinolaryngologist several times within this month. What is the most likely reason I have the high blood pressure? Hashimoto disease the endocrinologist said or my nasal septum's fault which is not straight and my otorhinolaryngologist said? I have done a load of test if you need any further details.

2095551 tn?1333122531 I am also on Norvasc, 5 mg per day. I also take atenolol which is a beta blocker. I haven't noticed too much swelling (except in my hands at times) on the 5 mg of Norvasc and I tried 10 mg awhile back but it didn't reduce my blood pressure by much and I was worried about the increased swelling. However, adding 25 mg of atenolol significantly lowered my blood pressure into the normal range 95% of the time.
Avatar n tn Hello, What the doctor means to check is for phreochromocytoma. Pheochromocytoma is a neoplasm of the adrenal medulla. Only 10% of adrenal pheochromocytomas are malignant, while the rest are benign tumors. They may lead to potentially life-threatening high blood pressure, or cardiac arrythmias, and numerous symptoms such as headache, palpitations, anxiety attacks, sweating, weight loss, and tremor.

120574 tn?1240767840 I think I am having high blood pressure from Avastin, what medication are Dr's giving for this? Anyone know?
Avatar f tn In fact, I have been taking this for the past 5 years. However, my blood pressure is still on the high side, i.e. 145 to 150 over 90 to 95, and I need to bring it further down. I'm a male, 40 years of age. Unfortunately, I do not exercise regularly, though, I'm in good shape with no medical problems, and do feel great! It is worth mentioning that I'm not an MD but, a Ph.D.
Avatar n tn I just have occasionally high blood pressure. Believe me I am as confused as you. That is why I am asking if it is okay to take Topamax for my migraines and Norvasc and Cardizem for my heart. I haven't spoke with a pharmacist as of yet. I will pick up the Norvasc today.
Avatar f tn Well, this is up to you and your doctor. I don't think we can give you any useful advice regarding how to treat this. One comment I would like to add, is that I can't understand why you are so afraid of short events of high blood pressure? High blood pressure is not a disease, it's a risk factor for future heart problems. We all have different blood pressure response towards stress.
1225178 tn?1318980604 I had high blood pressure prior to tx and still take 10 mg of norvasc for it. I am in week 32 of tx and my blood pressure has been fine.
Avatar m tn Some people have high blood pressure and the cause is never found. Are you a stressful person always worrying about things? Do you eat a healthy diet? are you a smoker? Blood pressure medication has many side effect but they don't affect everyone. Each time you receive medication you should be given the accompanying leaflet from the drug company because it explains all the possible side effects.
Avatar n tn Your blood pressure needs to be well controlled and you should be on a BETA-BLOCKER with high BP and an aortic aneurysm. Generally amiodarone is only given short term and I would discuss the med changes with the cardiologist.
Avatar m tn After four trips to the hospital / clinic, the doctors finally identified that his blood pressure was dangerously high, like 145/100. They admitted us to the hospital and then ICU and slowly brought his blood pressure back under control with Labetelol and Norvasc. Since then, we have been searching for a cause (and solution) with no luck, and we're running out of things to look at.
Avatar n tn Isosrbide is a long acting type of nitrate for chest pain Plavix is a blood thinner Coreg is a beta blocker to lower blood pressure and help with the heart rate and rhythm Zantac is to help with heartburn Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker to help lower blood pressure and help with angina (I take this for heart spasms) Lotensin is also used to treat high blood pressure I hope this helps you some. 404682 tn?1324579818 Hello, My name is Pat and I was recently diagnosed with High BP which has me a bit confused. I had 4 high reading at 3 times but the rest of the time it stayed within the 120s low 130s. The issue is that I'll go along fine and then wham my blood pressure will spike out of nowhere to 170/102 so my dr decided to start me on meds. I started taking norvasc 2.5 mgs at night because my BP is really high when I wake up.
976897 tn?1379167602 I went to my pharmacy yesterday who said he would gladly check my blood pressure. I sat in a chair relaxed for 15 mins, and he then took 3 readings which were.... 135/102...136/98....134/104 As you can see, my systolic is fine, but the diastolic is a nightmare. All the blood pressure meds I take obviously lower both the diastolic and systolic, and they make me light headed by the time the diastolic drops enough. I can't see any meds which affect just diastolic?
1102792 tn?1285925260 ve been had these attacks b4 but i attributed it to too much bp drugs especially when i bought a new pack of norvasc which i tot was fake and the prob went away after i stopped taking the norvasc, last night i didnt take any drug, just a lot of pineapples.

Avatar m tn Hello, My mother is 74 years old and has a history of strokes. We suspect she may have had one of them as recently as two months ago (a minor one?). She has had a problem with high blood pressure and wide pulse pressure (at least 160's/40's or 50's) with her top number as high as 200 once but usually in the 160's without her Norvasc 2.5mg and her bottom number usually in the 50's with or without Norvasc.
1746489 tn?1311515586 I have recently been prescribed Adderall XR 20 mg for adult ADHD. I have been diagnosed with mild COPD. I am currently on an Albuterol Inhaler as needed, which luckily isn't very often. I'm on Norvasc for high blood pressure (controlled quite well) and Celexa 40 mg a day. I guess that I'm kind of nervous about taking the Adderall XR after reading about all the possible side effects.
Avatar n tn i have been diagnosed with spastic angina. i have blood pressure 116 over 72 angiogram shows no problem with cholesterol 2.5 on test. i have been given norvasc and lipitol ?
Avatar f tn For 3 months now I have been dealing with extreme high blood pressure. Avg. 220/123, accompanied by chest pain in my upper left size of my chest. This pain does not move. I have been put in the hospital 3 times within these 3 months. I get stress tests, ultrasounds, X-rays and blood work. All tests says I am not having a heart attack, but with my blood pressure being high it is making my left side of my heart to struggle and causing my heart walls to thicken..
Avatar n tn Can this be artificially high because of medications taken for other problems i.e. high blood pressure (5mg Norvasc, 12.5mg Hydrochlorothiazide, .1mg clonodine 2x daily), hormone replacement (premarin 1.25), anit-depressant (150xl Wellbutrin), sleep-aid (Ambien) and Prevacid?
512321 tn?1215545726 It all started when I was put on Blood pressure Medicine. My pressuse goes from 137/85 to 117/77 it varies. I am taking Norvasc 10 MG. This has been going on now for about 6 months. I went to the ER when thinking I was having a heart attack and everything came back fine.
