Avatar f tn While a BID dosing schedule is nice, the fundamental cooperative toxicity between interferon, ribavirin and a protease inhibitor must be factored into the mix, Chung added. BID dosing will not make more patients get treated now, agreed Dr Susannah Naggie, assistant professor of medicine, Infectious Diseases, Duke University. The new regimen will not make a difference for someone who has already decided to wait, she said.
Avatar m tn In a Phase IIa combination trial in HCV patients, we reported data that showed that setrobuvir added to pegylated interferon and ribavirin accelerated the rate of viral clearance, with comparable response at setrobuvir doses of 200 mg bid and 400 mg bid. A single patient out of more than 60 exhibited viral breakthrough while receiving setrobuvir plus standard of care, corresponding to a low breakthrough rate of < 2%.
Avatar f tn The first dose of RO5024048 to be given in Part 3 will be 500 mg BID, the second dose will be 1500 mg BID, and the third group will be 1000 mg BID. Avatar f tn For 3yrs I had controlled HT w/Lisin/HCTZ 20/25 & Norvasc 5mg. I was a very healthy 44yo Fe, 4'10 110lbs. In Jan 07 my ins co said they wanted me to switch from Norvasc to Lotrel because they were "the same". My Dr kept me on the Lisin/HCTZ & added Lotrel 5/40. 12 days later I collapsed. At the ER my BP was 56/48, I was discharged 3 hrs later at 80/54. Things haven't been the same since.
Avatar n tn When I started using 2u Lantus in morning, 2 weeks ago, I'd go low in the late afternoon/early evening, and then my morning sugars would be elevated ... 140s, 150s. So I split the dose: I'm now using 1.5u Lantus AM & 1u Lantus PM. It definitely works better than 2u QD, and I've checked the middle of the night - not a problem. The drug sheet for Lantus doesn't mention BID dosing, but my internet articles do. What are your thoughts, and is Levemir better for BID dosing?
Avatar m tn Lopid, Norvasc, Ramipril, Metoprolol, Levothyroxin. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Avatar m tn In the double-blind, randomized placebo-controlled Phase Ib study, treatment-naive genotype 1a and 1b patients are to receive oral capsules of ANA598 over three days at doses of 200 mg bid (twice-a-day), 400 mg bid or 800 mg bid. Ten patients are to be enrolled at each dose level, eight receiving active drug and two receiving placebo.
710673 tn?1289614144 s different than what anyone else said. I also have PACs which are no big deal. But he put me on Rythmol SR 325mg bid. He cut my Lopressor to 12.5mg bid. And I am still on the Cozaar 100mg. What do you think?? Everything I read about this Rythmol says that I need to be hospitalized with this drug to start. The starting dose is usually 225mg bid. I haven't started it yet. Does anyone know anyone who has used this drug??

Avatar n tn Is okay to take 2.5 mg of Norvasc, 120mg Cardizem and Topamax? This discussion is related to Discontinuation of Norvasc.
Avatar f tn Mother just started on Norvasc already on Tenormin. Now I've heard there is a problem with the two drugs together causing heart failure. Is that really happening? Please my mother will stop Norvasc unneccassarily if I can't find out the real information about this. She is limited on drug options so this is important. Thanks so very much.
Avatar f tn I'm a 64 yrs. old woman who used to take Diovan 320 mg. & Toprol 50 mg. for my B.P. My B.P. readings was okay but my Doctor discontinued the Toprol because my heart rate usually on the 40's. I am currently taking Norvasc 5mg. with the Diovan 320 mg. So far, my B.P. readings is very good, 110/70. But eversince I started the Norvasc, my left leg is swelling and it is becoming worst. I'd like to ask my Doctor to discontinue the Norvasc.
Avatar f tn It was decided to add Norvasc 5mg INSTEAD of Nifedipine, since Norvasc was used/tolerated well in the past. Began taking Norvasc 5mg along with Lorsartan 100mg and Atenolol 25mg (all 1x daily) approximately 3 days ago, and the blood pressure is still running extremely high. This morning reading was 186/85 and tonight 176/110!!! Worried that this can be dangerous. What should be done? How long until the BP goes to a "normal" range? Does the doctor need to increase the Norvasc dosage?
Avatar f tn 1mg 2 x day. However, the Norvasc is not working after 12 hrs. My B/P is 150/113 12 hrs after taking the norvasc. Can I take a clonidine .1 mg along with the norvasc?
Avatar f tn When I take the generic for Norvasc, my feet swell; this does not happen when I do not take the medication. Will natural diaretics help with this. My diastolic pressure hovers around 90; systolic comes down easily with the Norvasc; diastolic is slower to respond.
2095551 tn?1333122531 Is there any other drug out there that will work the same way to open up small blood vessels like Norvasc but wont have the "bad swelling of legs and feet?" Anyone, please me know know, looking forward to hearing from you...
Avatar f tn I have started taking Norvasc for Hypertension and am having side effects such as nausea, headache, and it seems to be causing some eye pain and pressure. My concern is that I had retinal detachment surgery in March of 2008 and have not had any pain until I started taking Norvasc 5mg. daily. Is this a side effect that is normal and will it subside or is it a reason to discontinue this drug?
Avatar m tn The committee expressed no safety concerns that would preclude enrollment of the remaining 300 patients in the ongoing phase 2b study in the HCV positive genotype 1 and 4 population, and have not recommended modification of dose or duration of any RG7128 dosing regimens. Enrollment of these patients pre-screened for this Cohort in the fourth quarter 2009 has begun and is expected to be complete by the end of the first quarter of 2010.
Avatar n tn m also taking Norvasc. Should these medications be taken together? The Norvasc was prescribed a number of years ago by a different doctor for Migraine prevention. It hasn't helped my migraines but I've continued to take it. Since they are both blood pressure meds, I'm doubtful I should take both.
Avatar m tn 9 170 but my blood pressure is always fine at home i do suffer from anxiety but it goes thru the roof when i see a doctor or go to the ER i am 27 years old, i have to see a doc once a week for another condition, but it never fails my pulse and BP rises very high in doctors settings, once i come home both my pulse and pressure is fine again , my worry and problem is how much damage is being done to my heart when my blood pressure spikes like this once a week?
Avatar n tn I know this sounds strange but where do you begin. I was diagnosis with type II diabetes fall of 2007 after I was admitted in the hopsital for chest pain. I was also put on lopresser 25mg PO BID and norvasc 5mg PO QID. The hospital didn't realize my sugar was up in the hopsital but my family doctor seen my lab results from when I was in the hospital. She started me on metformin 500mg PO BID due to my A1C being 7. I didn't like how it made me feel but continued to take it.
Avatar n tn I suffered with angina for several years. Recently, I had angina that would wake me out of a dead sleep. It was diagnosed as vasospasms. I was put on Norvasc a month ago. I haven't has any angina, stable or variant. Norvasc works great for me. I have some swelling and slight dizziness with the Novasc, but the benefits far out weigh the side effects.
572651 tn?1530999357 then tonight I went to take my medicine for my angina and a light went off in my brain --- I started a new drug, Norvasc (a calcium channel blocker) for my angina in mid-June. This just so happens to coincide with when my bladder took charge. Could there be a connection? I sure think so from what I have found on the web. Several sites list incontinence as a primary side effect of Norvasc for women. These sites though are more anecdotal and not fact based.
Avatar m tn I asked him if there was a medication that is commonly combined with Atenolol, and he suggested the generic for Norvasc, 5mg. So I've been taking 5mg on top of my Atenolol for about a week, and I've actually noticed that my blood pressure has been a bit more elevated, not to mention I feel a bit crappy in general and anxious. I'm not sure if this is my body attempting to balance itself with the Norvasc but I never thought that it would make my blood pressure worse.
Avatar n tn The pain is relieved by a medicine called nitroglycerin (dilates coronary vessels). You have been prescribed norvasc and that should relieve any chest pains. Norvasc is in a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers. It dilates blood vessels and slows the heart to reduce blood pressure and the pain of angina. Calcium channel blockers may be needed long term. Medications may also include beta-blockers. However, in some cases of spastic angina, beta-blockers may be harmful.
