Avatar n tn I noticed today after picking my 5 month old son up from daycare, his pupils were unequal. They have never been unequal before. He was acting fine though. We came home and I checked their reaction to light with a pen light, both constricted equally. However without the light, the right is noticably more dialated than the left. I called his peds nurse hotline. A Doctor called me back and he said that because there are no other symptoms, it is normal. I don't think this seems normal.

Avatar n tn The dimensions for children are based and modified by weight, age and other attributes. For adults, there is a range for "normal" and usually does not consider size or gender...but it should!

They changed this rule 15 years ago they can suffocate by there own weight on there belly. Also nothing goes on the crib unless its a breathable bumper pad. No stuffed animals, pillowsor blankets!!!

Avatar f tn lol Just a few weeks ago when I took my son to the doctor, his doc.( Dana Ankney, Forest Park Pediatrics) told me that it was okay to feed him eggs and he was barely six months. As long as the eggs are cooked and you're feeding him so he doesn't choke, he's fine.

Avatar n tn Adrenarche is what you are talking about, the adrenal gland kicks in a little earlier than normal giving us some expression of normal but annoying male hormones causing body odor, pubertal hair growth and some advancement of bone maturity, however, obesity itself can advance the bones as well and I would seriously look at the weight to be sure that the weight is controlled well, rapid weight gain and increased insulin production can also stimulate bone maturation and also adrenarche is influenc
Avatar f tn Most ftms go over by at least a week unless medical intervention occurs. As long as its full term (now 39wks according to the American Association for Pediatrics jan 2014) I dont see why your doc would object.
Avatar n tn My 21 month old son has started to break out with rashlike pimples 4 days ago. Its on his arms, hands, feet &legs. It doesnt have a white head like normal pimples, but the skin is very hard. Then i noticed that he started getting raised/welt looking redish bumps on his hands, they are about the size of his pinky nail. It doesnt appear to be itchy, hes not scratching. But it seems to be spreading. Ive went to 2 different pediatrics and both are clueless to what it is or whats causing this.
