Avatar n tn Yes, absolutely normal..But,What is your height and age? U are overweight to a good extent even if u r 6 feet 6 inches tall. Reduction of weight is an honest advice to you or else yr blood sugar level will increase much with age.. Try keeping yr weight in the BMI index range for yr height. See a chart on the net.
Avatar f tn That depends on your frame size, as well as your age. Your frame size is how large your bones are. Here's a bit of height weight chart, that pertains to your height, but only if you are an adult female. If you're not an adult, the figures would be different.
Avatar f tn So she is normal for her weight and height. She is not overweight. She still needs 1700-1800 calories per day to grow. Increasing her physical activities would not harm her and having healthier snacks would be much better.
Avatar f tn There are height and weight ranges for children which is indicated on Growth Charts. His height is normal, however, his weight is below the Growth chart for his age. You stated he is teething which some children do not feel well from it. Their appetite can decrease. Suggest you feed him small meals 5-6 times a day to help increase his weight and maybe it will decrease his ‘stomach aches’, as you stated.
Avatar f tn His weight is below the 3rd percentile and his height is just below the 5th percentile for his age. Genetics may play a part in his height. Are there males in the family with small stature? Glad to hear he is a good eater. Suggest milkshakes or yogurt smoothies with fruit - milk or yogurt, banana or strawberries (or any type fruit), ice cream blended together 2-3 times a day for additional calories to increase his weight.
Avatar n tn His weight is just below the 5th percentile line and his height is just below the 10th percentile for his age. The height and weight are in the growth chart; however, the weight is on the bottom. Maybe the following will help you to know the amounts of food he needs daily to gain weight. Guideline for a 9-12 month old child should eat the following: Breast-milk or Formula (6-8oz) 3-5 feedings a day, Dairy 1 serving a day – cheese (1/2 oz) or yogurt (1/2 cup).
Avatar f tn hello Doctor, I recently checked out my son's weight and height. he is 9.8 kgs and 72cms height. is his height and weight normal for his age. he is exactly 1 year 4 months completed.
377493 tn?1356502149 32 inches tall, and about 24 lbs. His weight is more explainable given the lengthy rotavirus, but the height is concerning. My husband and I are both about 6', so it seems odd he would be short. I was under the impression he was tall until I read up on average heights for his age. He does see his Pediatrician fairly regularly and she hasn't expressed concern as he was following and even increasing his curve, but I still worry.
Avatar n tn (95% on growth chart), because his bone age is so advanced and due to the andrache he will not have the typical growth spurt and will stop growing much earlier than other boys. His predicted final height is 5'8" which I know doesn't sound totally terrible but this isn't his full biological potential. We will be starting a drug called Letrezole, and from what the doctor has told me and what I have read it sounds like exactly what he needs which is more time.
Avatar f tn His weight is between the 25-10th percentile and his height is on the 10th percentile for his age. He is in the growth chart which is considered normal. He is on the smaller side of normal, however, it maybe genetic. Is there a family history of small male stature? Based on his weight / age, he should be consuming approximately 1800 calories per day as recommended the following; Fruits (limit fruit juices) = 1.5 cups; Vegetables 2.
Avatar n tn He is not underweight (he is still in the normal range of the Growth Chart) and his height maybe due to genetics. Are there males in the family that have small stature? Based on his weight / age, he should be consuming approximately 1800 calories per day as recommended the following: Fruits (limit fruit juices) = 1.5 cups; Vegetables 2.
Avatar n tn His weight is just above the 5th percentile and his height is on the 10th percentile for his age. His is within the growth chart which indicates he is normal for his age. He is going into puberty and will be growing. Males can grow until the early 20's. Genetics plays a part in stature. Are the males in the family on the smaller side?
Avatar n tn No!!! I am 16 as well and though I don't know you, I know what you're going through (to a certain extent) I'm 5'9" and I weigh 180. Technically, I'm only partially overweight, according to the BMI chart. Anyway, I've had friends your height who weighed 90 pounds, and they get sick very easily, and when they get sick, it's bad. Your body will start to shut down because it cannot support itself. The average weight for your height is at least 110. At the very least.
Avatar m tn I'd say probably neither............5'2 is not a bad height to be. Below is a small bit from a height/weight chart. So depending on your frame size, you could weigh anywhere from 108 - 143....... Height Small Frame Medium Frame Large Frame 5'2" 108-121 118-132 128-143 If you eat well and get plenty of exercise, so you aren't getting flabby, you are about right........
Avatar n tn At 13, most teenagers are well into puberty and may be in the middle of or about to embark on growth spurts. Their height and weight may go through many changes in their teen years. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the average height for a 13-year-old girl is 5'1 3/4". Girls' normal height can range from 4'11 1/4" at the 10th percentile to 5' 5 3/4" at the 90th percentile.
Avatar n tn I would definitely ask your pediatrician to have her seen by a pediatric endocrinologist, it may indeed be early puberty, the dheas is a hormone that the adrenal gland makes and is a sign of early but almost normal variation of the adrenal gland maturation process that can occur in this age range in some kids.
Avatar f tn She does not seem to gain weight/height as per her age. She had congenital defects and had two major surgeries when she was 2 days & 3 months old. She had remained skinny from the beginning but while I see her friends/cousins of her age bigger in size, I really get worried. She is completely fine and active after the surgeries. I would like to know if there is any way (with the proper diet) that can make her gain her height and weight.
1194973 tn?1385503904 it is hard to get an accurate height measurement on an infant. And the difference in percentiles is a matter of a very little difference in height at this age. So, the height percentiles don't mean too much, especially in just a couple of measurements. What is important is the curve she follows in the coming months- more so than percentages and numbers.
1938479 tn?1325705620 If Arnold Schwarzenegger was to use a BMI (weight vs height) chart while bodybuilding, it would have classified him as obese. Another way to look at fat versus muscles is that a cubic inch of muscle will weigh more than a cubic inch of fat. Muscle is about 18 percent more dense than fat. So a better question is am I in shape or do i need to convert more areas of fat to muscle? With that said, here is a weight chart that should only be used to give you an idea, so don't take it as gospel.
7891009 tn?1395689851 So im a ftm 25w 2days and i went to the doctor and they said my little girl is two pounds. Knowing how curious i am, i asked if thats the normal weight for a baby at my stage. She said its at 67% on the rate chart. What the heck does that mean????!!!!????
338963 tn?1253660822 http://www.disabled-world.com/artman/publish/height-weight-teens.shtml Looks like your baby is just fine. Don't mind that it's on a disabled website. It's the only chart I could find!
Avatar n tn Her weight is just below the 10th percentile and her height is just below the 50th percentile for her age. She is still in the growth chart which is considered normal for her age. Suggest getting blood work on her levels of her vitamins and minerals. In the meantime, suggest giving her a chewable daily children's multi-vitamin, if she will accept it, due to her eating habits.
