Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar f tn Usually, fasting begins at midnight for a test the next day. Your sugar by the standards of your lab states it was high on your first test. The repeat is normal. I am not sure if that was a fluke. I'd probably get it checked in another 6 months to see where you are at. Avatar n tn Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn Your fasting blood sugars are within normal range. It is improper to test randomly as it does not provide a clear insight on how your body handles excess sugar. Part of your annual health exam should include testing for diabetes. Go see your doctor for one.
Avatar f tn I would test at various points, fasting, post prandial and bedtime and when you feel symptoms. If your blood sugar levels at all the tests are in normal range (70-140) and the symptoms continue, I would see your doctor because it could be totally unrelated to blood sugar and diabetes.
Avatar n tn s after a meal before their own bodies start producing extra insulin to bring those levels down. The range of 70-126 is considered normal before eating a meal, or as a fasting glucose level. So although the one test at slightly above 200 does seem suspect, one test alone is probably not something your doctor would base a diagnosis on.
Avatar f tn It should be done 2 hours after eating. Additionally, a blood sugar of 12 and 18 are extremely low. Normal blood sugar is 65-110. I f your son's sugar falls below that he should be see by a doctor.

Ask for a referral to an endocrinologist for a second opinion right away. 1154802 tn?1266485720 What is the normal range for blood glucose fasting, 1 hour after eating and 2 hours after eating? I think mine might be a bit high...
Avatar m tn Actually, a normal fasting level does not have to be exactly 90. The range is 80-100, with optimal levels being below 95.
Avatar f tn However, people with diabetes need to know that it is possible and necessary to keep blood sugars in the normal range (of 80 - 120, and ideally 80 -100), and by doing so there is no need to have any complications of diabetes at all. Note that this level of 80-120 is the same as that recommended for persons with diabetes who get pregnant as it is the level at which diabetic complications of pregnancy can be avoided. I am a big fan of Dr.
Avatar f tn My ALT consistently came out higher than normal range, 57 and 73 to be precise with normal range upto 55. My blood sugar of fasting and after breakfast also came out above normal range and I am not diabetic. My question is that can high ALT cause blood sugar to rise?
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in March of this year. My A1C was 7.8. I was given Metformin to take 2x Daily. They told me they wanted my fasting blood sugar to be 70 - 110, but I can't remember what they told me the range should be 2 hours after eating. I am only suppose to check my blood sugars once a day so I try to do it at a different time every day and I just can't remember what they told me what they should be after eating. Oh, and my A1C was down to 6.
