Common Questions and Answers about Normal hormone levels menopause

hormone

Avatar n tn However, when my doctor talked to me, she said all my hormone levels where normal. Is my doctor right and everything ok? Or does it look like I might be in menopause? I am thinking I may need to get a second opinion.
Avatar f tn Going back to doctor in July for more tests and checking hormone levels as i may be starting menopause, hopefully I will get some sort of answers soon.... Thanks again for listening to my problems good to talk to someone about it....
Avatar n tn The levels are normal, there is no evidence of thyroid disease at this point -- the TSI is normal - does not look like Graves.
768251 tn?1256734583 I also was having severe menopausal symptoms (everyone in the book) for months and my doctor told me my hormone levels were normal. I had to beg him for hormone replacement therapy which made me symptom free and back to my old self. I do not know why doctors are not more informed about menopause. It is not NORMAL because we do not feel NORMAL. Perimenopause can start at any age. I was on natural progesterone cream for 10 years before I entered full menopause at the age of 48.
698356 tn?1240150727 Sex hormones tell me I went through and finished Menopause 5 years ago (wooohooo) so had early menopause at age 43 and Cortisol came back normal after I thought I had a T3 conversion problem. I got EVERYTHING checked to rule out each condition. Hypochondriac? No Just someone who wanted their quality of life back and am finally getting it.
1033165 tn?1309435416 Yes, there are blood tests that give a generalized guideline as to where you may be at in terms of menopause. They can test FSH (Folicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Leutenizing Hormone) as well as your levels of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone etc.. This may give a clearer picture of where you're at but, it's not 100% because many women have FSH and LH levels within menopausal ranges and are still getting periods. It's a "guide" only.
Avatar f tn i will be seeing a cardiologist in a couple of weeks, but i was just wondering if hot flashes and sweating are associated with this. i have had my hormone levels and tsh levels checked. all are normal.
Avatar n tn hair loss could be low iron, iron over load, underactive Thyroid hormone, low vitamin D,levels. it is possible that her spotting could be gynecological meaning a uterine problem but one can spot now and thrn in menopause with hormone fluctuation. she should see her primary care physician and her obgyn if she continue to spot.
491716 tn?1211048106 I would say these are pretty classic symptoms, but in the past these have been once-a-month PMS symptoms. Sometimes it is hard to tell if it is true menopause. Will hormone levels (blood drawn) reveal if it is true menopause?
Avatar f tn Hi - I just had labs: TSH = 1.42, T4 Free=0.9, and T3=3.2. These are completely in normal range. My TPA is 81 which is high (range is less than 35). I take a bioidentical hormone combo of T3/T4 compounded for me. Shouldn't this take my TPA levels into the normal range? I feel ok, though my hair is falling out in the shower, and am gaining weight. Then again, I am 49 so it could be menopause. I had a hysterectomy 8 years ago, but do not take progesterone or estrogen.
543429 tn?1214747132 i know im going though pre menapause and my levels are normal too. the only time to test the hormone levels to get an acurate reading is 10 days before your period starts. that is what my gynocologyst told me. my levels have been up and down and normal. My doctor is not convinced its pre menaupausal,, dizzy spells, cant sleep, hot flashes, aches and pains in legs, heavy periods, mood swings... is my doctor crazy?? you tell me..
Avatar n tn Have they checked your hormone levels? Do you produce too much Progesterone? That causes periodic bleeding but am not sure it looks like an actual period as you describe. They've tested and can see from your hormones that you are starting menopause? It's a little early for that but it can happen. That would be what I suggest first if you haven't already. Find out what your hormones are doing. There is also the pill which can regulate you out.
1445110 tn?1388209711 My Gyn did do a hormone profile and when they called all they said was yes you are in menopause and that was that. I am so frustrated. I desperately just want to be my normal self who always was able to just take care of my family and everyday things of life.......
Avatar n tn I believe that my wife, who had suffered from postpartum psychosis after the birth of our last child, had an increased genetic susceptibility to affective illness as a result of hormone changes at menopause, especially with abrupt hormone changes that appear to have occurred because of her UAE and hysterectomy (induced menopause). COULD THIS BE TRUE?
Avatar n tn Sounds like menopause symtoms. You should make an appt with GYN for tests..pap..explain your symtoms to the doctor.
Avatar n tn Treating to normalize thyroid hormone levels and eliminate hypothyroid symptoms results in the suppression of TSH. This is understood as a normal part of treatment once we accept that the thyroid set point has been lowered. This is not an argument to use thyroid hormones to increase metabolism above normal to achieve weight loss.
Avatar f tn Make an appointment to see your doctor to get your blood checked for low iron levels and your hormone levels. Your doctor may also decide to send you for an ultrasound scan to make sure there are no problems with your ovaries.
594293 tn?1222655980 can I still be perimenopausal with normal hormone levels? If so, how do I treat this?? I want to use a natural progesterone cream but wonder if I should since my hormones were normal when I had the testing done.
797256 tn?1237636468 Hello, I am writing because I have lots of symptoms of PCOS and 5 years ago I went through fertiltiy and found that I have PCOS, but now 5 years later I had my hormone levels taken just by family doctor and they say they are normal but what is normal. Estradiol (estrogen) 26 pg/mL FSH 5.0 mIU/mL LH 12.2 mIU/mL These are the ones they have done. What does this mean?
Avatar n tn i had a partial hysterectmy in 1992 i still have both my ovaries i have been to the dr and had a hormone test done and it was normal but i have all the symptoms of menopause except for the exctreme hotflases i have them but they are very very mild and not often, could i be going thru menopause?
Avatar f tn Have you had your thyroid levels checked? if so and they are normal then your next step should be a fertility specialist.. wishing you the best...
Avatar n tn That is a major complaint of some women experiencing peri-menopause and menopause. FSH levels are different from the estrogen but it all ties in together. Perhaps you could discuss with your physician about having female hormone levels drawn. Female hormones can affect your thyroid function too, but from the numbers you gave your levels are ok for now. I think you are in menopause vs peri-menopause.
