Normal glucose levels for toddlers

Common Questions and Answers about Normal glucose levels for toddlers

glucose

Avatar n tn between 70-126 is the number range that many doctors use. But this is for fasting glucose levels only. After meals, it is normal for glucose levels to rise above this, and the numbers quoted as 'normal' vary, depending on which doctor you talk to. I have read that a number of about 140-150 is considered healthy for after-meal sugar levels.
Avatar n tn Your doctor is doing what most doctors do in the given circumstances, it seems to me. The normal glucose levels that you want to aim for are between 70-126. If you drop below 70, you will start to feel pretty bad (I can even start to feel icky when I drop down to about 80, so sometimes your body warns you a little early that the glucose levels are dropping).
Avatar n tn In a normal Non Diabetic person, what is the highest (peak ) Glucose levels that are usually attained. If the Peak is below 200 is this considered normal? or is it much lower?
1461994 tn?1285897132 ve been on Interferon/Ribavarin therapy for 3 weeks now for HCV Genotype 2B. When I started, my glucose was 78 but it jumped to 90 this week. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that I'm going to develop diabetes if I continue with tx for 21 more weeks? My blood sugar has always been in the 70's or 80's, no family history of diabetes, I'm 59, thin and in good physical condition otherwise.
Avatar n tn Before meals, a range of 70-126 is considered normal. After meals, glucose levels up to 140-something are considered normal. Your little one was probably crying so hard when his glucose levels were low because he felt bad... when glucose levels drop below about 70, we feel pretty awful. The high reading over 200 certainly is way above where the normal level should be, so I agree that he should be checked by a pediatrician.
Avatar f tn In a person without diabetes, the glucose levels in the blood rise following drinking the glucose drink, but then then fall quickly back to normal (because insulin is produced in response to the glucose, and the insulin has a normal effect of lowing blood glucose.
Avatar m tn He has seen people with A1c levels of 6.5+ with normal glucose tolerance test, but not the other way around. My fructosamine levels are within normal range too. Needless to say, I am very depressed right now. Would love to hear any feedback.
Avatar n tn the normal range is 70-110
Avatar f tn Good luck girls
Avatar n tn Yes, a complete random blood test would surely have shown high glucose levels, for glucose counts are one of the most common things tested in random non-specific bloodwork. Do continue to talk to your doctor, though, about symptoms that aren't normal, and be specific about what they are.
Avatar n tn Be sure to test your bedtime blood sugars. Going to bed with high levels means one-third of your day is spent with above normal levels.
Avatar f tn jsp My suggestion is low or no sugar and stay away from bad carbs for the latter will jack up his glucose levels. For a list of good carbs vs bad carbs go here http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art6628.
Avatar m tn I had a full blood check up last week and my glucose levels came back as high for a morning reading at 9.2. I had some more tests today including a fasting test and a hba something or other. My question is soe this now mean i have diabetes. I am very much a night person regularly up til 4 in the morning and eating and drinking before i go to bed. I am white, not over weight and have no family history.
1276121 tn?1420860600 Well as some of you know i had my first appointment 7/27 and by ultrasound i measured 5w2d. Today my lab work came back and my hcg was 28,059, is that normal? Also did a glucose and they wanted that to be between 90-130 and mine came back at 131 so they want me to do the 3 hour. I hope all goes well tuesday when i do the 3 hour.
Avatar n tn But the key to keeping your child healthy is to try to keep those glucose levels as normal as possible without risking severe hypoglycemia.
Avatar n tn thanks for that but does not answer question about whether the level will increase or decrease from random(non fasting).
Avatar n tn Thanks for the info and timely response.
Avatar n tn Can someone tell me what a normal glucose level for a child is? For example a child has a small bowl of cereal and then is tested within an hour of that meal. This would be after having nothing else for the prior 12 or more hours. The reading was 144. Is that considered in a normal range?
452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Avatar m tn Kidneys and liver function normally, I do not have any vitamin deficiencies, insulin levels are normal, blood pressure is normal, and cholesterol levels are ideal. he concludes that I was most likely misdiagnosed as there appears to be no sign diabetes within the past 3-4 months. I was given the original diagnosis roughly 2 months ago. Despite all of this I still plan to eat right and exercise. This was quite a scare for me and I'll never forget it.
