306245 tn?1244384967 can anyone tell me what a normal blood sugar should be in a 7 year old. we had his sugar tested today at ambulance station that was having an open house and they were **** blood sugar test his was 186 he is 1 pound over weight (nothing I am concerned about) and one paramedic seemed concerned and said they thought normal was 100 and another said that no they are the same as an adult up to 200. he didn't fast for this test.
Avatar f tn I have, however, had a couple of instances of lower blood sugars that have left me feeling quite shaky, headachy, etc. - lowest being 67 and I most definitely KNEW my blood sugar was low then - I drank some juice and it came up to a point where I felt better. Doc has now increased the Metformin from 500mg twice daily to 1000 mg twice daily, but has left the Glimepiride at 1mg once daily (that low blood sugar reading was before the metformin had been incrased) Does my A1C number sound correct?
Avatar f tn It is slightly low but within range. The normal is anywhere between 70-130 and being that you had a fruit smoothie it should of been a little higher. I would just keep an eye on that and the blood pressure. Just mention it to the doctor to see what they say. It doesn't sound to alarming but enough to mention. Good luck.....
1058898 tn?1275675151 I notice my blood sugar at night between 2-3 am are over 120 and my fasting blood sugar in the morning is over 100. When i get the fealing of low it is around 80 and it will keep dropping. the last time it went to 67 and i had to eat some thing i couldnt wait. i had a cup of oj and checked in 15 min and it went to 137. I have also notice that i spike about 1 hour after eating and come down around 2 hours after which is mostly in the 130. and i notice if i drink a can of pop.
Avatar f tn Hypoglycemia/ low blood sugar would be considered blood sugar levels less than about 70. Your result of 103 is normal, not hypoglycemia. It is likely that your symptoms may be from other causes. Sometimes headaches can be a sign of not drinking enough - so a glass of water and a few minutes to relax / be quiet - may help a lot. Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn Would you say this is out of the normal range. I had blood work done about a month ago when I had my annual physical and my sugar level came back at 109. My doctor didn't seem to alarmed.
Avatar f tn I am also having trouble with low blood sugar. My blood sugar goes from 44 to 255. I know normal is 80-120 . At the Diabetes clinic they said if mine dropped from 50-70 to take gluclose tabs, 8, but my body is reacting like a normal one. I take 4 at 44 which is life threatening low. I also notice that lately it's dropping after I eat which I don't understand. This discussion is related to Blood sugar drops after eating.
Avatar m tn What is your blood sugar and did you test it before eating anything in the morning or did you test it soon after eating (like 1 or 2 or 3 hours after eating)?
Avatar f tn January, normal range 70-110 mg/dL , found 136 (hadn't eaten that morning or the night before) May, normal range 90-100 mg/dL , found 99 (had eaten some cheese the night before) Both morning tests I am 22, is this normal?
Avatar n tn In general, if your blood sugar level is below 100 mg / dL after fasting for at least 8 to 10 hours, then your blood sugar is normal. Blood sugar levels are usually lowest before each meal.
Avatar n tn 24 hour UFC was low, serum cortisol was normal but inappropriately low due to low blood sugar of 2.6. His office called, said blood tests confirmed AI, sent me a prescription for 25mh of Cortisone Acetate to take daily. His office said no need to see him, just keep my 6 months appointment and he'll retest 24 hour urine and serum cortisol to see how my levels are. If better...stay on dose, if worse, up dose type of deal.
Avatar n tn However at this range it is also better to start with medications for diabetes to bring down the blood sugar levels. Please consult an endocrinologist for the same. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn However, I have been having some problems with my blood sugar levels. I frequently seem to be having episodes of low blood sugar, only to find that my blood sugar is only on the lower end of normal. My symptoms include feeling faint and dizzy, clammy skin, and pallor. I also feel jittery and nervous.
Avatar f tn Two and a half months ago I went to my dr for a routine check up and she did a CBC and also checked my blood sugar. My fasting sugar was 103 the first time and 110 the second visit. My hbA1c was 5.8 She said I have "pre-diabetes" and sent me to a nutrionist. The nutritonist gave me a glucose meter so I could check my bs after meals and fasting. After two months of excercise and diet change I have lost 15lbs.
Avatar f tn As far as I know, low blood sugar is NOT a symptom of hypothyroidism. If I'm mistaken on that, I'm sure someone will chime in and let me know. Depending on the range your lab uses for TSH - you might very well be in the normal range, but "normal" labs don't always mean that's "normal" for your body. Were there any other tests run - such as Free T4 or Free T3? Those results would also have a great bearing on whether or not you might be hypothyroid.
Avatar m tn When the production of insulin is low, you will have sugar trapped in the blood stream. when you test your blood sugar using the glucometer, the number you see reflects on how much sugar is trapped in the blood stream. hope this is what you are looking for! if you are looking for something more, please be more specific with your question.
Avatar f tn as an rn, we had to check peoples blood sugar 4 x day. per the lab reports the normal range was 60-110. we as nurses never gave the patient insulin unless they were over 120. your blood sugars aer in the norm range. any lower and you would be hypoglycemic. the A1c test is done separetly from your cbc. this test gives the avaerage your blood sugar has been running over the past 2-3 months.
Avatar f tn even though I eat a normal portion of meal, my blood sugar goes up after each meal. but it goes down to normal level after 4-5 hours. it makes me confused because I cant inject more because I will get low, what should I do?
Avatar f tn Hello, Normal blood sugars in pregnant women are actually LOWER than normal blood sugars in non-pregnant persons. The totally normal range in pregnancy is somewhere between about 65 and 100. A blood sugar of 79 30 minutes or so after eating is totally normal, and shows no signs of diabetes at all. You should be very pleased with this number. Of course, eat healthy and avoid excess sweets. Take regular moderate exercise. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy.
