194838 tn?1303428544 I do not test my own blood but am sent to the hospital for fairly regular tests but notice that when people post with their blood glucose levels they are in the 100s. I am from the UK and wonder if there is a conversion chart because I think it would be more beneficial if I could compare with others on the forum to get a sense of how im doing for comparison, Any advise would be greatly appreciated .
Avatar m tn com/diabetes/guide/normal-blood-sugar-levels-chart-adults This article has information related to charting of glucose numbers. If you were fasting, I think it's time to have an evaluation by your physician to look into your glucose numbers. If you were not and it was before a meal, then they would be close to normal. so, that info would be helpful for further discussion.

In a woman suffering from high blood glucose levels, the baby produces more insulin to control the increased sugar levels. • This could significantly lead to low sugar levels in the baby, since the body would become accustomed to producing excessive insulin. • A test showing glucose levels during pregnancy can be a sure shot way of monitoring the sugar levels. A low blood sugar level chart will help in diagnosing the condition immediately.

452066 tn?1400626877 First of all, I am not a diabetic, but would like to learn more about it and blood sugar levels due to a severe arrhythmia problem I have(also have an implanted defibrillator) and I am tired of talking til I am blue in the face to doctors and I feel there may be a link to either my glucose levels or hormones. I have been seen by 2 endocrinologists and both said I am fine...BUT they have told me that my insulin production is very high but they won't do anything about it.
Avatar n tn Hello! I'm not a medical professional, just the parent of a kid with diabetes. The normal blood glucose ranges for anyone, child or not are between 80 and 120. Some doctors will say 70-110, but it's all in the same range. Now, that's the target, but depending on what is eaten for example, a healthy person's blood glucose can rise temporarily up close to 200. As long as the values return to normal after a couple hours, all is well.

173119 tn?1296999736 I am pre-diabetic, and I was wondering if it was normal for blood sugars to be a bit higher when suffering from an illness, like a cold. I have a cold right now, and my blood glucose levels have been testing slightly higher since I have been sick. Will they go back down after the cold is gone? My fasting glucose this morning was 133 and it is usually around 110 to 112. And my 2 hr post-prandial glucose after lunch today was 133.
Avatar n tn I meant that once the caloric intake is reduced and the body adjusts, that over a short period of time, the blood glucose levels would probably drop to within normal levels, assuming the individual is otherwise healthy and has normally functioning organs. "Have you spoken with an Endocrinologist and a Nutritionist who are specialist in Sports Medicine? They may have personal studies/research on your subject matter, more than I can offer.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know a source that shows how blood glucose levels change minute by minute after a meal?

Avatar n tn If either one lets glucose levels run high, then complications such as kidney damage or eye damage or nerve damage can happen. But both should be equally able to keep glucose levels close to the normal range if they test often and take appropriate medications. The outcome truly depends on the patient's own hard work. Studies have shown a direct correlation between the risk of complications and the diabetic person's control over his or her glucose levels.
1461994 tn?1285897132 ve been on Interferon/Ribavarin therapy for 3 weeks now for HCV Genotype 2B. When I started, my glucose was 78 but it jumped to 90 this week. Is this normal? Should I be concerned that I'm going to develop diabetes if I continue with tx for 21 more weeks? My blood sugar has always been in the 70's or 80's, no family history of diabetes, I'm 59, thin and in good physical condition otherwise.
Avatar f tn In a person without diabetes, the glucose levels in the blood rise following drinking the glucose drink, but then then fall quickly back to normal (because insulin is produced in response to the glucose, and the insulin has a normal effect of lowing blood glucose.
468796 tn?1220029445 My doctor ran a two hour glucose test and while my blood sugar numbers were normal (as was yours - glucose of 80 is excellent! Fasting glucose is normal if under 100) my insulin level was 151!!! Ideally fasting insulin should be no higher than 10, but my doctor considers anything under 20 good. Anyway, having high insulin circulating in your body is the first step towards Type 2 diabetes.
Avatar n tn Well, the fact that the first poster's husband did a comparison test and his number was normal at 86 would seem to indicate that the machine is NOT giving false numbers. Her blood sugar probably really IS that high, and this is extremely dangerous -- could be life-threatening. It really is imperative that she have a true lab test done to see if there really is a blood sugar problem.
Avatar n tn between 70-126 is the number range that many doctors use. But this is for fasting glucose levels only. After meals, it is normal for glucose levels to rise above this, and the numbers quoted as 'normal' vary, depending on which doctor you talk to. I have read that a number of about 140-150 is considered healthy for after-meal sugar levels.
Avatar f tn So because I threw up during the 3hr glucose test, I have to check my blood sugar levels at home for a week. So just curious what is the normal range? I have to check it when I wake up and 1-2 hrs after every meal.
Avatar m tn The body recognizes intense exercise as a stress and releases stress hormones that tells your body to increase available blood glucose to fuel your muscles. If your glucose levels exceed normal levels discuss with your doctor medication or medication adjustment.
