Avatar f tn First, make sure that patch is properly applied and second, acquire the covers for the patch. Information about proper application of tjeeethe patch and the covers is is on the patient information you should have received with the medication. The patch makes dosing easy. Apply it and forget about it for 2-3 days. But if you are not feeing better after a few days, call your doctor's office and report your symptoms. Maybe the patch is not right right for you?
1430434 tn?1317719331 Oh and PS - A little word to the wise, to avoid feeling like garbage, when you put your new patch on, wait two or three hours to peel the old one off. It takes a while for the medicine to get into your system and you will have tremendous breakthrough pain, not to mention your body will start to go through detox, yuck. Oh and the 3M Tegaderm adhesive clear bandage covers I mentioned, are usually made by a store brand, and they were much cheaper. CVS for example makes an excellent knock off.

1086611 tn?1257289724 Recently, I filled my new prescription and noticed they changed everything about the Duragesic Patch. Has anyone else noticed this new development? I noticed it reminds me of the generic brand (which didn't work for me). I'm very worried that since they changed the design of the Brand what else did they change? I don't want like when they change medications that work for myself. I checked Ortho-Janssen's website there isn't anything about the changes they made.
Avatar n tn Your response was very helpful and reassuraing. Now I am a bit more worried as I have noticed a small red patch resembling blood vessels on the lump. I also have a bit of dull pain. I know that the ENT visit will be the only way to get a sure diagnosis, but the red patch madw me think that maybe this is more than sinus related. My right ear hurts a tad as well. No ear infection asI went to my GP last week.
10064121 tn?1415176073 Most women I know take their babies out after their first week. It's all preference!
356518 tn?1322263642 Have been trying to use water therapy, meditation, etc helps some but seems that efficiency of patch is compromised...so thought maybe to get off this med slowly, ..Have flat type of patch and this time, have cut a very small slice off. Thought would do this very gradually...
Avatar n tn I have been dealing with Firbromyalgia for 10 years now and for the past year and half I have been on the Fentanyl patch. I am currently on 50 m every 3 days. I want to get off of these badly! I'm sick of the side effects like not sleeping and weight gain.... I feel like I need to just clean my body out of all of it and see where I'm at with the pain. I don't even know!
Avatar f tn When I started using the patch my MD said put the new patch on in PM and then the old patch off the next AM. Since I started going to a pain specialist I noticed the label said to take old patch off before putting new patch on, so I'm thinking that's the reason why I am high? Any insight, suggestions?
623131 tn?1223057475 Because it takes a while for the Fentanyl to work, the added amount from the previous patch will add to the new patch in 4-6 hrs. You would not feel it right away but later in the day it could be dangerous. Read the information provided with the patches. It will tell you all you need to know.
Avatar f tn Recently on my chest i've had new spots appear. There are three of them and they look just like old chicken pox or cigarette burn scars. They appear in the shape of a triangle, does anyone have any suggestions of what this may be?
Avatar f tn Just a quick note, I'm not a doctor but having heard this several times, I'll just say if you're curious if it's infected.. You'll probably have redness around the patch, pain, and/or fever. The red patch is likely normal. Abscesses start out as a red spot then turn a darker purple-ish color. It'll then fill with sterile fluid/pus. And you can either get it needles pirated with an ultrasound guide or let it open on its own.
Avatar f tn I am now 8 months post op and have been coughing since getting home from the hospital its like I choke on everthing and I throw up almost daily for no reason. The other new symptom is when I stand up to fast I lose my hearing for a little bit and my vision gets blurry. Thanks for listening to my story and any thoughts or tips yall have for me would be great!
Avatar f tn I'm new to this forum too so just wanted to say a big HI!! and welcome you. I'm new to taking pain meds myself but know a fair amount about them. To me it sounds like the dosage is too high for you. It's a fine line with alot of meds. Make sure you're telling your doc exactly what you've said here and anything else you think doesn't feel right. They need to know so they can make sure you're not being over medicated.
Avatar f tn I kept it off to have my patch free week and get my period , then exactly a week later on Monday I put a new patch on to start a new cycle. Am I protected ? Was I protected during the patch free week ?
Avatar f tn So I got diagnosised with Chiari and had surgery over a year ago. My symptoms slowly started coming back and when bad I get treated with steriods. Not really getting my questions asked at the MD and never know when to call the MD. I expect to have symptoms forever. How to you know when they could be serious. I recently started having some new symtpoms, but am afraid to call my MD cause I don't have the money for a MRI.
Avatar m tn Today is really hot, about 104, and after driving half an hour (with AC on) I took off the patch and saw a new floater at about 3:00 in my left left eye, about 45 degrees away from the center of vision. There also seemed to be a flash when the patch came off too, but since I was in a parking lot under full sun that might have just been a reflection of a car. This is the first floater I have ever had which I can see rotating (slightly) after each eye motion.
Avatar f tn Butrans is Subutex or Suboxone, which is normally used of opiate withdrawal and addition recovery. While it's an opioid, it's not like Fentnyl. Just doing a quick google search should answer any questions you have about it. The patch was just released in January so it's really new. The origin drug has only been around since the 80's and Subutex has only been around since 2002.
Avatar f tn Well, I had my appointment this morning; it was long. Talked about all my fears of the different meds. Originally tossed about leaving the oxycontin at 40 mg. but having morphine bet the BT med. But then decided on 75 mcg. Fentanyl patch with 10 to 20 mg. oxycodone as the BT med. I'm scared to death. I hate new meds and not knowing how I'll feel. Plus 75 mcg. seems like a huge giant dose.
82861 tn?1333453911 I showed the PA the cut half of the 50 mcg patch and explained how I tapered by trimming off bits of the patch every 3 days. He just about cracked himself up laughing. He said these office visits usually go the other way with patients wanting more and more and more drugs, and that I made his day asking for less. And there he was unable to change the scrip! So, we left it at 50 mcgs and I'll just continue to cut them. It's just as well this scrip will last two months.
Avatar m tn With the patch you wear it for 3 weeks then take it off for a week. Your period should start. Then you put on a new one.
Avatar n tn Before I had my last period, on the day which was supposed to be the patch free day (I was on my third patch already) the app was telling me to put on a new patch (on September 19th) and said my period wasn’t supposed to be until the first week of october. I didn’t put a new patch on and ended up getting my period as usual a couple days later. However, I woke up this morning (October 6) and got it again, I had just gotten it exactly two weeks ago today.

Avatar f tn Hello all. I am new here. I am looking for some advice with pain management. I just went to my second visit at pain clinic. On first visit, they changed me from Norco 10/325 one every six hours, prescribed by my PCP to fentanyl patch 12mcg. I have severe tmj (have had 4 surgeries) and am waiting for a jaw replacement surgery. I am 31 years old. Today I saw a different doc at PM clinic who prescribed 50mcg patch.
Avatar n tn If you take off a Mylan Brand patch and you stick it to something, Can you reuse that same patch days later? Someone has advised me to use two old ones at the same time to equal one new one, but this definitely didn't sound right? If anyone can help I would be most grateful. I am on vacation and our trip has been delayed I cant get home for a week! I am scared to death and there is absolutely no way for me to get a new script here!
697970 tn?1228074272 Hello everybody...New here so please try to be positive (: I'm getting ready to start the Emsam patch for my 2.5 year battle with Depression.I've tried every SSRI with pretty much no help.I've been VERY fortunate to have been taken as a patient by a very well known, very famous in the field,Pharmacologist who says "enough is enough" and is putting me on the Emsam Patch to in his words "Knock this out".
720228 tn?1530911279 My patch fell off about two weeks ago and then I started my cycle. After that week I put a new patch. This week on Wednesday my husband said that I should change my patch cause it looks like it might come off but I didn't do it until Thursday because that is my normal day to change the patch. On Friday I was spotting a little bit. I figured that my patch came off or was not on good enough. Now it is Sunday and my cycle has not started. I was wondering if I could be pregnant.
Avatar f tn s dura patch, but I have gotten lots of great responses to my previous question regarding CSF leaks and dura patch rejections. Her NS didn't even want to see her, but finally agreed after the neurologist called him up personally. So, her pain is intense and the NS hasn't offered anything for pain. He just prescribed a steroid, said the leak would eventually close itself off, and waited 6 days after her tests to have his NURSE call us. He didn't even call himself. Sad!
