Avatar f tn A autoimmune disorder or something. Spelled out (spelling?) Non- diabetic Lumbosacral Rediculoplexus Neuropathy. He prescribed a treatment of an IVIG. I have had two treatments so far. 3-day with 5 hours at a time intravenously. He thought I would see significant improvement by now but it has been very minimal. I am so frustrated because I am almost wheelchair bound. I was very inpependant before and self- sufficient and now I can't even drive or go anywhere by myself.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with Non-diabetic Lumbosceo radiculoplexus neuropathy. I have nerve damage which was detected after a EMG. I had aMRI of brain, lower back and it showed nothing. I suffer from a foot drop for 3-4 years now. My Dr. Thinks this treatment should give me significant improvement by now but it hasn't yet. I can't walk without assistance. Do I need more treatments? Have I been incorrectly diagnosed? Will I ever gain back my ability to walk?
Avatar n tn Keep your blood sugar as close to non-diabetic levels as possible (non diabetic levels are 70 - 120 range, all the time), with exercise, diet (lower carb works best), and medicatiions, if required.

The best defense and treatment for this is to improve the self monitoring of blood glucose, keeping it at normal levels helps prevent the problems. i can sympathize because i have a bit of the neuropathy in my foot and this may be from the fact that at the beginning of my 31 years as a diabetic they didn't control blood glucose as well as they can now.
