Nitro can help some forms of esophageal spasm. Nitroglycerin is used with esophageal spasms (GERD). It is the one non heart related illness that nitroglycerin works in. However, that doesn't rule out a concomitant heart condition. Nitroglycerin is a vasodilator not only for your heart vessels but for the vascular system which then subsquently lowers your blood pressure. It even dilates the vessels in the brain which then usually gives the side effect of the headache also.

The doctor said the left heart was okay but found a narrowing in the right heart which caused coronary spasms during the test. IV nitroglycerin during the test stopped the spasms and dilated the vessel. He did not mention any other problems and recommended sublingual nitroglycerin to treat the spasms as they occur.

I have nitroquik - sublingual nitroglycerin - to take if I have angina pains - this morning about 5 am I was miserable and couldn't tell if it was heart or ms symptoms and I took one. As always it stopped my discomfort, depressed my already low blood pressure and I went to sleep for about 3 hours. I've used nitroquik for the past 3 months or so and it always stops the pain and gives me relief within minutes.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the crtisone drip to start working and easing pain? Also what can one do to get rid of the terrible bloating in the stomach? I look like a big fat pig ready for roasting and is very uncomfortable.

He has been in the hospital for 3 days now on a lasix drip, dobutomine (sp?), and nitroglycerin to help reduce the edema, but the doctors failed to give him a potassium supplement during this time, which caused him to have 3 attacks of sustained V-Tach within hours of each other, 2 which were within minutes of each other and his heart rate is raising to 120-125 in between v-tachs. He has a bi-v pacemaker and defibrillator implanted, but has not been shocked as of yet.

As anyone had the stress test the two parts myacardial perfusion scan after 4 weeks the cardiologist sent a prescription for asprin , isosirbide monitrate, amlodipine antrovastatin said my scan was 15% what does this mean is this not too bad medium or high risk don’t see him for another 2 months sldo can I have a few drinks on them as Iv not had a drink I just wondered people on these meds if they have a few drinks now n again thank you in advance x

With my csection which wasn't scheduled I got the epidural and then they put in the catheter so I didn't even feel it. Then i got an iv drip of pain meds afterwards.

I'm not dehydrated right now but i see it coming as the only thing i can drink is serria mist and i try to drink it often but can't

If you miss a dose of Nitroglycerin Patch, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once. When used for long periods of time without a break, some people develop a physical need to continue taking Nitroglycerin Patch. This is known as physical DEPENDENCE. Do not suddenly stop taking Nitroglycerin Patch without your doctor's approval.

I started contracting on my own at about 2 am got out on the drip at 3 and it really started almost immediately about 15-20 minutes.

ve been given an IV drip of Benedryl and Decadron for 1/2 hour before the chemo drug is started. I also get a saline IV drip during the chemo procedure. She was on Propofol IV drip (sedation) 24/7 while intubated. Her vitals remained stable, with her oxygen stats at 98-100%, a normal BP, and Heart Rate. She was un-intubated on the 4th day in ICU. She woke-up and was 100% responsive to sound and stimuli. She was having conversations, and sitting up in a wheel chair. She was also eating full meals. This lasted for 2 days. After 2 days, her heart rate and BP started to rise, and she became very agitated, and was having a hard time breating.

I think now they keep a port in your spine and they can give you more doses through an IV like thing in your back but I've never had one so I'm not sure. I do know that it usually takes some time to get the anesthesiologist to the room in most cases so I'd say if it starts wearing off around 6/7cm and you're worried then get them in there if they need to even if you're barely in pain if you don't want to feel it at all then I'd say better safe than sorry.

4 mg sprays to pull me out of an episode. This top amount of .20 mg is the same amount of IV nitro used during my arrest in May '08 to 'stabilize' me ( EF was 64). I used to be able to do well in '08 on just 0.4mg patch but I've progressively had more episodes in '09 and with minimum exertion since 8-1-09. The increase in episodes and some spasms leads me to think that I am developing more areas of myocardium damage. My local cardiologist feels it's nitro tolerance.

they dont make you take a med for that lol it goes into a drip bag in an iv that you already have to have so you would never know the difference anyway but thats good :)

Then she came to us and started giving injection through butterfly syringe. She also changed the bottle and inserted a new needle for air into that. My concern is that what if there was some blood stain on her hand and with the same hand she did the entire above process.
