Regardless of that, it stills fills up every once in a while (especially if i sit for a while) when i sit down (on the chair) i'm fine for the first hour. After that i get a sharp pain in my anus that continues as long as i stay seated. The pain decreases if i stand up and don't sit for the rest of the day but if i try to sit again, I'll get that sharp pain again. My anal area becomes inflamed and the only way around it is to sleep for a while (at which point it gets back to normal).
Hi, Are you having any other associated symptoms of pain, bleeding, itching, mucoid discharge, etc? This could be an anal skin tag secondary to anal fissures, hemorrhoids, warts due to human papillloma virus, moles, or in rare cases due to rectal cancer. 'An anal fissure is an unnatural crack or tear in the anus skin. As a fissure, these tiny tears may show as bright red rectal bleeding and cause severe periodic pain after defecation.' http://en.wikipedia.
Since then I have been to the doctor about 4 times as I have found no relief in the creams or any of the recommended treatment. The latest thing he put me on was a nitroglycerin ointment. This has help with the fissure (I know longer have pain when using the restroom) but I have now developed a large, red, swollen bump on the left side of my butt cheek on the inside. It goes down to the actual opening but it does not feel like my actual anus is the source of pain.

I have been reading and researching everything from hemorrhoids to IBD. Like the patient above I have external tags (Like 2) one for each kid.and now for 23 years.....after kid one...I created a fissure straining the first of as little as 3 movements and as much as 6 and it is now prolapsed.... I only had this happen a few times right after giving birth so it probably needed surgery then, since now it is what it is. (Ugly!
I don't however have any other symptoms on or near the penis and I am a hetrosexual male and the incident did not involve any anal contact. Also, since then I have been to the STD clinic and tests for chlamydia and gonnorea came back negative.

was not worried about the spasm ), 3 large internal hemorrhoid banding and a Botox for the fissure. I had a follow up 11 days after the procedure, and the Dr. said that most likely the hemorrhoids already fallen off and the fissure is healing ok, but I am still in pain and blood on tissue and some on the stool ( bright blood ) after 2 weeks post procedure, my bowel movement is very painful and after about 2 hours from BM severe burning starts for about 2 to 3 hours.
This will paralyze this muscle for a period of time and could, maybe, stop the spasms. They do this for patients for have a fissure or tear at the entrance and it won't heal. Just a thought. Not sure if it would help in his case. Good luck!
I see no reason for further concern about HSV and certain no need for additional HSV blood tests. Take care.
The prevalence of specific disorders is difficult to estimate since almost any anorectal discomfort is often attributed to symptomatic hemorrhoids. I'll discuss the treatment of hemorrhoids. I would strongly suggest follow up with your personal physician, because other causes such as those listed above can also cause anorectal discomfort. hemorrhoids are normal components of the human body.

Hydrocortisone is not normally effective for anal fissures. Topical nitroglycerin increases local blood flow and reduces pressure in the internal anal sphincter, which may further facilitate healing. In studies, the median time of healing was 6 weeks. Another form of therapy is botulinum toxin. Injection of botulinum toxin into the anal sphincter can improve healing in patients with chronic anal fissure. Time to healing in these studies were approximately 2 months.
I don't really care about the pain during the poop, as much as I do for the pain AFTER I poop. It hurts for a couple of hours then it fades away. Could it be hemorrhoids? Or is it something else. When they have to poop, everyone is relieved, but me? I just hope it doesen't hurt to much. LOL Any ideas?
Mine started with a flare up of hemorrhoids, which I have had for over 20 years. But, now they seem to be under control and I am still having the rectal pain. I am seeing a GI doc this week for something unrelated and plan on asking him about it. From what I have read, rectal pain is fairly common and usually benign in nature. I suspect levator ani syndrome too. I took a muscle relaxant the other nite for a back problem and miraculously the rectal pain stopped. Hmmm...?
He told me the prep takes longer than the surgery, and that he's only in the OR for about 5 minutes. Mine was just for an anal fissure, no hemorrhoids or anything else. So the surgery itself was a very simple out-patient procedure. I got to the hospital at 6:15am, and was out of there by 11am. When I awoke in recovery, I had absolutely zero pain. I had to pee, which I was able to due despite being quite numb in that general area.
for the last 6 months I have been getting tearing (look like paper cuts) in my vaginal area (1/4 to 1/2 inch long). I get the tears at least once or twice a week and they last from 2-4 days, go away for a few days and then come back. They continue to occur in the same locations; 1. Inside the vaginal lips on the sides almost always in the crease (between the labia minora and majora?) 2. Between the anus and vaginal opening (perineum) 3. Above the clitoris in the "hood" area.
I found a person on the MSN body odor support forum who had a bad odor for a long time and then the odor went away after being treated for H. Pylori, but then the coughing and sneezing started after that. Interesting. Another person on the MSN board said he was also treated for H. Pylori and then the coughing/sneezing started!
