I have been prescribed nitrofurantoin (macrobid) for a UTI. I have a hard time swallowing pills. Can these be broken up?
It also says that the colony count of the bacteris is 1,00,000 cfu/ml. Hence, doctor prescribed some medicines like Uribid with nitrofurantoin in it, Prothiaden M, Montemac FX for allergy and Hifenac-P for fever and also Cital syrup for UTI. My mother continued the course for one week, now fever and tiredness have decreased, but the burning sensation continues. Is this mixture of tablets fine, or any other suggestion or recommendations for treating this urinary tract infection of K.Oxytoca.
9 days ago Nitrofurantoin (200g a day for 5 days) was taken and daily birth control (Qlaira). Both are known to decrease levels of haptoglobin but nothing about complete depletion.
Could this be an extended effect from Nitrofurantoin? When should the test be repeated ?
The reason I have not responded since July 7 is because I almost died from Amiodarone Lung toxicity. I have been in and out of the hospital and was put on high doses of prednisone. I ballooned up 40 pounds. It has taken me over a year to recuperate and now I have some permanent scarring in my lungs. I finally went to another electrophysiologist and had a procedure called a Pulmonary Vein Ablation. Was it worth it? I think so but it has only been one month since the surgery.
A couple of weeks later I developed a urinary tract infection. Urologist prescribed nitrofurantoin for the infection. Immediatedly after starting the antibiotic my ears gradually starting feeling clogged. Now, two weeks later, they are both very clogged (no wax buildup) and I can barely hear. Logic tells me the ear clogging is somehow connected to the nitrofurantoin. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of this happening? Will this clogging go away by itself?

I have been taking ciprobid, doxyl and nitrofurantoin for a month now. but still the is no change. I still have some pains. I was diagnosed with an UTI, in the urine and blood test the was no Chlamydia, gonorrhea or syphilis in short no STI. I went to late they gave me antibiotics but come to find out I had pneumonia in my right lung. Had to start new antibiotics, two weeks with a high fever, coughing so hard I threw up. I ask my liver doctor and he said it was fine what the other doctor was giving me for my pneumonia. But don't let it get worse cause we have no immune system and man when we get sick it's bad. (My weight is about 145 kg, previously has been 188 kg, with a length of 170cm) It started in 2006, I did get nitrofurantoin, but I got only more ill, till I even got over 41 degree fever and an emergency-doctor then prescribed ciprofloxacin which did help (this was in Holland). Reconnect 11/2019 and two days later rushed to ICU and surgery for complete lg colon removal due to CDIFF as total toxicity through out body. Onintubated and in ICU for one week. The light headedness may happen if there is inadequate supply of oxygen to the brain. This can happen with cardiac disorders or lung disorders. In cardiac disorders there is inadequate pumping of blood and in lung disorders there is inadequate oxygenation. It could also be due peripheral arterial blood disorders. Symptoms are usually aggravated with exercise in cardiac disorders. Diabetes mellitus and hypertension can cause these symptoms.
Please get a complete hormone panel ESH, LH, estrogen, progesterone and see if there is an imbalance. Hormone replacement therapy will help. With metal toxicity, certain chelating agents are given which bind with the metal and remove them from the body. Normal detox diet will not take care of that. It basically increases the antioxidants in the body.

The only thing you can do is wear surgical masks when out like they do in China to prevent lung disease. For those who already have lung conditions like I have we are really in trouble. This government KNOWS exactly what they are doing and the illnesses they are causing Asthma is epidemic porportions, dementia is more prevelant along with altzheimers disease and a whole hose of Autoimmune disorders!!
