Avatar m tn 9 days ago Nitrofurantoin (200g a day for 5 days) was taken and daily birth control (Qlaira). Both are known to decrease levels of haptoglobin but nothing about complete depletion. Could this be an extended effect from Nitrofurantoin? When should the test be repeated ?
Avatar f tn You should be ok if the pill has been working well for you so far. The birth control pills tell your body that your already pregnant so you dont actually get pregnant by using certain hormones. As long as you are pretty accurate by taking the pill the same time each day and you have never had any problems I think you will be fine. But remember even if all has been well up to this point that the pill is only 99 percent effective.

Avatar m tn If she started taking the pill on the very first day of her period then she would have been covered straight away... however, if she started taking the pill at any other time you should carry on to use condoms for the first 7 days of taking the pill. If ever she misses a pill, again you should use condoms for the next 7 days after taking it again until it is back in her system.

Avatar f tn I just started taking birth control pill this past Sunday been taking it a total of 5 days and on day five of taking it I had unprotected sex no pull out no nothing bc I thought I was good to go but I was reading I can still get pregnant is that true ??
Avatar n tn The first birth control pill I was on, my periods were regular at the same time every month. I never missed a period. My doctor switched my pill and I didn't have a period for 3 months. When I went back to the doctor they said that maybe the new pill was too strong for me, and they switched it again. I had a period for the first two months on this third pill and now I have stopped getting my period again. I took three pregnancy tests and they have all came up negative.
Avatar f tn How many of us here were on birth control when we got pregnant? I was. Never missed a pill either. Looks like this little one was supposed to be here!

7385294 tn?1412105739 Can u take birth control when breastfeeding? Like the pill needle patch.. can u do all of it still? Im not sure what i wanna take yet..
Avatar m tn Look up the birth control pill your girlfriend is on online and see what it says about how long it must be taken (consistently) to be fully effective. If the birth control has not had time to gather its full effectiveness, there is no guarantee your girlfriend was protected. Furthermore, even if it is one that requires shorter than a month, a missed pill or just taking the pill at varying times from day to day can add some small level of risk.
1123945 tn?1259615216 I then went in on the 3rd day and was told my estrogen was too high and therefore they put me on the birthe control pill for this month and was advised to call when I get my next period. I don't understand why I was put on the pill, does anyone know? The treatment they will be administering is IUI but I am just not sure why I was put on the pill (which I stopped taking 5 years ago). I appreciate any and all info you can provide!

Avatar f tn hey everyone, i have a question i just switched from the depo shot to the pill. i received the shot the day after i had my daughter april 1 2013, and three months later i switched to the pill. i took the pill on a tuesday three or four days before i had too. so that i wouldnt have a break in birth control. im on the placebo part of the pack i actually have four days left and haven't received my period. meaning i have four days til i take a new pack. im a tuesday start, if that makes sense.
