Avatar m tn Having Chromium and Niacin listed as separate ingredients would not be the same as Chromium Picolinate. Separately, (Niacin would be niacin and Chromium would be Chromium plus one of the chelators). Avatar m tn By contrast, slow-release niacin preparations reduce the hot-flush effect by releasing niacin over an extended period of 12 hours or longer. Most of these preparations are unsafe and I do not recommend them. “No-flush” niacin preparations, such as inositol hexaniacinate and nicotinamide, are widely sold as niacin alternatives that do not cause hot flushes. In my experience, however, they simply do not work. In other words, no flush, no effect.
1375932 tn?1279301132 t want weight gain, and that is a strong potential with Elavil. I need loss, not gain! For now, I use Xanax for the emotional component, since I retired from the "glass of wine" when I started nitro. Just as well. I wish there were a vasodialating anti-depressant to try. I tried Buspirone, but the CP didn't disappear.
Avatar n tn I suggest that you see your family doctor or endocrinologist - who can determine if you have any symptoms of peripheral neuropathy that might be the cause of this. Are you aware that Niacin may cause a tingling sensation - perhaps you are suffering the side effects of this?
Avatar m tn they do know about the myriad of horrifying side effects though - and i know from plenty of personal experience - i gain so much weight but i lack the motivation or drive to work it off (if its even possible to? - haven't seen it yet that's for sure!) the real worry is the long term damage is unknown? i think we'll all be writing the textbooks of the future regarding that one!. so i really want to hear if medication really helps any of you?

907968 tn?1292622204 Doubling Carvedilol can be like a sleeping pill until your body gets used to it. Your symptoms are typical, you may also experience some weight gain. I'm guessing you had a heart attack prior to the bypass. Carvedilol (Coreg) is in my opinion a wonder drug, it can revitalize stunned heart cells surrounding the are area of dead muscle caused by the heart attack, and can improve heart function. It is typically doubled as needed gradually until improvement is seen in the heart function.

You can check out what to eat and avoid on this article from Authority Nutrition: A Paleo Diet Meal Plan and Menu That Can Save Your Life.

Avatar f tn I did end up developing an eating problem which caused subsequent weight gain but I maintain the first weight gain at age 12 came out of nowhere. Doctors were obsessed with the fact that I was chubby so they probably tested things because of that.
