Niacin for drug detox

Common Questions and Answers about Niacin for drug detox

niaspan

Just make sure you're not allergic, but if you use the niacin in a low dose regimen, it should help, and also helps heal past sundamage and increase ceramide production. Look at NIA24, for pharmacalogical info, it's niacin that's being marketed at a beauty drug/cosmetic additive. Anyways, try low doses of niacin, turmeric, green tea, healthy foods, any kind of antioxidants you can get, bromelin, (pineapple too!) and some collagen supplements to help aid in repairing the skin.
hi- i,m new to this forum. Can anybody tell me why the depression i feel whilst detoxing from tramadol is so severe when i am prescribed and take regular paxil for depression.
i have been addicted to pain meds for almost 6 years. i have a 7 year old son and this addiction is starting to affect my family. they are unaware i have this addiction, but they know something is wrong. i been taking the meds to control mild pain (arthritis) and it controls my anxiety. I tried countless times to quit but i always end taking pills. I cannot afford to go to hospital and get help. Also very embarrased to tell my family members. Keeping this addiction secret is eating me alive.

Seems to me in a nut shell, they put you under for a few hours, and prescribe a drug such as Naltrexone for a week or two and thats it? Well, thanks for listening. P.S. Wiz, thanks for the support...Peace Out...
Should I continue my Niacin and at what level? Thank you for all your help with this. Drug companies simply do not want to study niacin because it may prove superior to their complex (and expensive) alternatives. Please could the professional who answers this query NOT be affiliated with and not be receiving any money from any drug company that produces statin drugs (or other drugs that purport to lower LDL). Please could the person who responds let me know this is so.
Thanks for the reply, I didn't think I was going to get a reply since my post ended up on the 2nd page or so. Anyways, I'm here at the hotel. I started getting a little anxiety checking in but once I became situated, I started to relax. They gave me a room with a king and two queen beds lol. I felt like Goldilocks n the 3 bears... I have a fridge and a microwave and the tv was not locked so I was able to connect an extra laptop to it so I can have my netflix lol. Ok besides all that.
BUT, good luck trying to get any doctor to prescribe these drugs to you for detox (also, it was for heroin detox originally, but, hey, they say there's no real difference, right???? An opiate is an opiate. So, if you can find a doctor who will prescribe me, let me know, and I'll be on the next flight to where you are.
Of course, there's the whole other theory of; Just Surrender, Give Up and Join The Winning Side. For now, I'm still fighting. Yesterday's retreat made me strong today. So now my brain doesn't feel as much like a scrambled egg. It's working a bit better in there. Unless you count the apathy and lack of motivation, which is more than a little scary. I'm almost sure that I started taking Tramadol in 2003.
Vicks Formula 44M containing Dextromethorphan, and Primatene-M containing perylamine as well as the pain reliever Demerol, and prescription anti-depressant Elavil test positive for opiates up to three days. Even Quinine water can also cause a positive reading for opiates. Poppy Seeds such as the ones on a bagel from your favorite deli, etc. The journal of Clinical Chemistry Vol.33 No.
Also google acupuncture for detox, sauna for detox, niacin for detox, hypnosis for detox, yoga ... and anything else you can think of that is a natural treatment. The idea, ultimately is to be drug free, not drug dependent and almost any "detox drug" will just be something else you may eventually have to detox from.

Im a 22 year old female and I have been addicted to oxycontin for 7 months. It was a hidden habit that only me and my bank account new about. Recently i gained the courage to come off of it. I was snorting 80-120 mg a day every day, working all week just to support my habit. I am now at day 7 of withdrawing, the first 4 days being the worst. My problem now is completely mental.
Take lots of hot baths and drink Gatorade and apple juice. Get some imodium and take as needed. The Thomas recipe has great info for detox help. If you don't take any more pills then you will be some better by weekend I'd say. Good luck! It'll be ok!
Have you been checked for Mycotoxins? 7.Have you ever done a full body cleanse (detox)? 8.Have you ever had a Functional metabolic test? 9.Have you ever done any breathing tests? 10.Have you ever checked your PH saliva and PH urine levels? Sorry for all these questions, but take your time to answer, at your own pace. Take care.
I got stuck on suboxone for nearly 4 years and had to do a detox because I could not taper on my own. If you plan to be totally off by 14 days and have been dosing every other day, you should be in great shape. By day 7, the lortab should be out of your system, so keep tapering on the sub. If you can try going as low as 1mg, so that would be an 1/8th of an 8mg tab. You would be taking crumbs. At this point, there should be minimal withdrawal.
for the recipe listed under thomas recipe, i saw the p.m. recipe requires 50 mg niacin which my haelth food store only carries 500mg, took last night while detoxing from vicodin addiction and my skin was on fire.THOUGHT I WAS DYING!!!!! then i read bottle a.m. and sure enough, normal reaction. my question is: was the 50 mg listed a typo, was it supposed to read 500, if not i will have to cut down tablets. someone please help, pregnant and need to do this asap.
He has been seeing a counselor for a year since he was arrested for having marijuana parafinalia in his car. He has been in random drug testing for a year - why wouldn't oxy show up, if he is taking it? He will lose his job if we send him to detox. They also do random drug testing at his place of work. He intakes great amounts of niacin (supposedly the "friends" say this masks results of drug testing.
Passionflower. theses are for anxiety and insomnia etc. But a good Amino acid protocol and also Niacin or Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) Animal protein as well eat meat that's also needed. And I am using HEMP PROTEIN POWDER as you can put that in or on anything. I have had to go on Lyrica to get some relief from the unreal pain i got BUT i am only takin the for 5 day's then stop as THEY ARE ADDICTIVE. Doctors will tell you their not but the are!! And the WD's from the is worse than Opiate WD's.
Just like opioids have to have opioid receptors—which are down regulated during methadone use—this is the reason people have long-lasting pain and aggravation coming off methadone…this isn’t much of a problem with heroin use because of it’s short half-life…proteins are essential for the repair work in recovery…I now use a formulation made by Neuroresearch…their Neuroreplete/D-5 protein formulas works well for those coming off of methadone, methamphetamines and benzodiazepines or any drug for th
beets. I boil them and eat them like boiled potatoes, root and all. Not the most pleasant taste, but my liver loves it. For the alcohol, I don't think it really matters whether the root cause is alcoholic or not, you just don't need to be further stressing your liver like that.
Mind is Coke, but have stayed away for 5 years now. The rehab I went through, that did the Niacin, drug bomb, and sauna setup, really made me stop using completely. I have really no desire for that garbage anymore. Had no withdrawls from that process at all. Tried almost the same process at my home for my Methadone addiction, with no success whatsoever. I never would have guessed that a drug like Methadone, would be 100% harder to detox from than cocaine.
The biggest thing that helped with the sleep for me was Super Snooze by sundown naturals (puritains pride also manufactures the exact same thing. I bought it at K-Mart for $9.95 for a 45 day supply). It has helped when no other natural sleep remedy has. It also has some vitamins that will help with RLS! Be sure you talk all of this over with your doctor before beginning anything as even natural supplements may interfere with other medication you may be taking.
Just to comment on a society where people ask me “is it safe?” when I prescribe a medication for them and yet value the fact that people in Hollywood do something. Most of the people in Hollywood are idiots and are surrounded by more idiots. Let me reassure you: 1. Your body is not “full of toxins.” When it is, your liver and kidneys are designed to handle those “toxins” and will do so far better than anything someone tries to sell you. 2. Diets only work when they restrict calories.
I have a friend who went to a detox for alcohol and oxycodone and ativan. Her real problem was the alcohol. She took oxycodone and ativan under a doctor's orders for pain and anxiety but did overuse them at times. I'm sort of disappointed in the whole process. I've gone through 12 detox/rehabs with my ex-husband; some good and some bad but this was REALLY different. Looking to see if anyone has any answers about what's going on.
The length of time withdrawal symptoms occur can range from a couple of days to weeks depending on how high your dose was and how long you were on the drug. Withdrawal symptoms can be reduced by discontinuing use of the drug slowly (i.e., gradually reducing the daily dose). Tramadol is more complex than other opiate and opiate-like medications because it also appears to have actions on the GABAergic, noradrenergic, and serotonergic systems in the brain.
methadone didnt help me.....subox did the best for me...great for wd symptoms....and it worked pretty quick for the cravings....within a couple days i was pretty much done with opiates in my mind....
Thanks so much to Lulu, Motye and Vic for the great ideas! Soon I'll be stocking up and hunkering down for the long haul.
I have heard several things, vitamins, niacin, lots of water, ibuprofen...if anyone has some advice for me, please let me know.
