Avatar f tn Is anyone out there taking Teva's version of Nexium? I'm to the point now where I can't get the brand. I was astonished to see that this generic version's co-pay through my insurance is so high! $80 for 90 days. I could understand this price for the brand, but for generic? Anyway, I had tried this version as I had to with my last insurance, it and I didn't do as well on it. I tried it for a week. I an wondering if it was just my imagination.
Avatar m tn Have Barrett's Esophagus - diagnosed. Lost Left Kidney 1996. Have had IBS diagnosed innumerable times before Barrett's found. Terrible Nightsweats - no matter what I do, cant seem to get rid of it. During the night change pyjamas at least once if not twice. Get awfully cold. Is there anything I can attempt to help. Have already a tremendously restricted diet - same as for IBS, but more severe. Anything I eat reflux's, even liquids.
Avatar f tn I went on Pepcid ac, pantoprazol, and now my doc prescribed nexium. These meds work for a few weeks then stop working. I am now wondering if my stomach issues start over every time I take another bluechew pill (which is only once every few weeks). Has anyone else had stomach issues with viagra or generic sildenafil?
Avatar n tn I paid a very, very high price for the fear of taking a statin. The risk of liver problems is extremely small with taking Nexium and any statin. I had high cholesterol number like you present when I was your age and decided to use 'natural' means, including diet and exercise to lower it, and it worked to some degree. However, over a seven year period I had to have eight stents, a pacemaker, finally had bypass surgery.
1387175 tn?1326400997 Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Prilosec does not increase your risk of getting esophageal cancer. The thing that is causing you to need prilosec causes the increase in risk of esophageal cancer. So whether or not you take prilosec for your problem, doesn't change you risk of developing esophageal cancer. Have you tried dietary changes to see if that helps your GERD enough so that you don't need prilosec. Have you tried H2 blockers?
612551 tn?1450022175 In several other countries, Nexium can now be made into a generic drug because the Nexium people lost their lawsuits in those countries .) I've been tempted to try to get the inexpensive generic form of Nexium from places like India or the UK, but so far I haven't done so. I will be happy when Nexium finally becomes a generic here in the U.S. The cost is ridiculous. I, too, have to watch drug prices.
Avatar f tn He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.

Avatar f tn I have been having really bad heartburn and a burning feeling in my stomach. I was told to take Nexium but I have a severe allergy to penicillin. My question is, can I take nexium if I'm allergic to penicillin?
Avatar f tn Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Ever since I was 5 I had acid reflux disease for years we couldn't figure it out neither could my mom she just thought I had bad morning stomach aches until she became an EMT paramedic in 2010, ever since she figured it out we've been looking for medicine to help.
Avatar f tn I started taking Pradaxa less thatn a montha ago and am taking the same dosage and noticed the same heartburn and was prescribed Nexium for it. That is one of the side effects. I really did not experience the fatigue but I do have hip pain but I think that is due to skipping the gym for a couple of weeks. I'd call the Doc and let them know what is up.
Avatar f tn Sometimes PVCs can be caused by certain medications. After taking Nexium for five years, I suddenly developed over 8000 PVCs a day. I struggled with those for almost two years. When I tapered off the Nexium meds and used a simple, over-the-counter antacid (containing calcium and magnesium) as needed, the PVCs lessened. When I ate carefully and finally stopped Nexium completely (using the OTC antacid only when needed and in small amounts) the PVCs went away completely.
Avatar n tn look its your choice there is a sensible way of taking nexium and keeping fit and taking nexium and eating non-healthy, cheers.
Avatar m tn i saw this guy floydd wright on youtube who says do not take nexium if you have hep c . has anyone heard of nexium being dangerous to induce hep c ?
Avatar m tn I was put on zantac 150, nexium, malox chewables. nexium is prescription and you can get prilosec which is the same thing and is OTC. The phentergan will help with the nausea. I remember after a month of detox I was eating anything in sight. I was eating so much, I would throw up b/c my stomach was packed full. It went away after 2 weeks and I had gained 15 lbs and then lost it ...thank god. It will go away, once you are off all the pain medicine.
Avatar f tn I doubt that "NEXIUM" has anything to do with your sisters knee pain. You can refer to the package insert if you look up the medication..
Avatar m tn I take 40mg daily of nexium daily. I was having acid attacks even with the Nexium, alway at night when sleeping. I have the wedge, extra pillows etc. Garvistan, Tums next to my bed. I once asked Dr. when could I stop Nexium he said I would need to lose weight. I have low iron, low B levels. Thinning hair etc. I already have spinal stenosis. I have been on Nexium for at least 10 years. Anyone out there who's been able to quit Nexium, let me know how and how long it took.
Avatar n tn There is nothing in the manufacturer's literature regarding bone loss with Nexium. If the Nexium is diminishing your calcium supply then you may need to increase your calcium intake. First, I would suggest a bone density scan to make sure if your calcium levels are low or not and to measure the strength of your bones. Please discuss this issue further with your primary doctor.
645390 tn?1338555377 Do you think that maybe she misunderstood you? I'm on Copaxone and it cost about the same price. My copay is $15.00/month, my insurance covers the rest. I would call your insurance company and ask them how much it will be. If your insurance doesn't deal with shared solutions try calling Pression RX.
