Nexium gallbladder

Common Questions and Answers about Nexium gallbladder

nexium

Avatar f tn Has anyone stopped the Nexium and had the biliary dyskinesia go away and gallbladder return to a normal ejection fraction? I have been on Nexium for the last year. I was on it once previous to this go-around and had stopped taking it for a few months. Then a horrible acid reflux hit. I was on Lorazepam, at the time, too, when the acid reflux hit. It was my understanding acid reflux was a side effect of the Lorazepam.

Avatar f tn And celiac disease can also result in changes in gallbladder functioning - typically an over-active gallbladder ejection fraction.
Avatar m tn Hi my name is Mal and i have been taking Nexium (40mg) now on and off for about 12 to 18 months (I think). I first started as I went to my local doctor as I was having indigestion/heartburn nad he prescribed Nexium (40mg) told me to come back after finishing the packet which is for 30 days ( 1month) which I did and the indigestion had gone but came back again some months later and slightly worse.
1316267 tn?1274151614 I have GERD and I am currently under medication. 40mg Nexium twice a day (am/pm). I don't know if it is working or not. I usually feel the pain hours after eating lunch... around 3PM onwards. The pain radiates to my back and I have no idea why it does. My stomach feels like burning. and it's super painful I almost always cry, trying to put myself to sleep just to forget about the pain. I underwent ultrasound last year for my abdomen but there were no findings.
Avatar m tn If you have any type of stomach sensitivity, things like coffee, tea, chocolate are all going to irritate the stomach, its the high level of acidity. While nexium will help with gerd, it wont do anything for gallbladder issues. I know you said you stopped coffee, but do you consume anything else like tea, tomato sauce, garlic, onions, spicy foods, greasy foods, fatty foods? If so, eliminate all of these things and see if the pain goes away.
Avatar f tn Ever since having my gallbladder removed *May 09* there are sooo many foods that make me sick. I take Nexium 40mg on a daily basis which helps, but like today - 1/2 hour after eating lunch - peanut butter - i had severe chest pains and indigestion, felt so sick I had to drive home.. then the panic set in. I've been to several docs, most lately Cardiologists, they find nothing! Several ekg's later, several ER visits, the find nothing! Can anyone relate?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GERD several months ago, and lived with almost daily pain (no meds were really working) until about 2 months ago, when I started Nexium. I was blissfully almost with any symptoms for about 6 weeks, even if I ate common reflux triggers, but now I'm experiencing pain again. Can Nexium just stop working like that? I should add that my diagnosis came after basic blood tests, an endoscopy, an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and a CT scan of my abdomen.
Avatar n tn The doctor explained it as a thickening of the muscle around the gallbladder. It was also discovered that I have a polop on my gallbladder. I was concerned, however, she advised that the cause was diet related, similar to what would cause gallbladder problems. I am scheduled for a follow-up ultrasound in six months to be certain the polop has not increased in size. I have to admit, this has caused me concern.
Avatar m tn My Gallbladder was ruled out, because the pain is only in the morning.
Avatar f tn Since month ago I been having a constant lump sensation on my throat that comes and go. I read It could be Gloubus Sensation" and the main causes are strees o GERD . I had an endoscopy about two weeks ago I was diagnosed with GERD , a little Heital Hernia, Duodenitis without bleeding and a Decreased Peristalsis in the Stomach suggestive of Gastroparesis. They also took me some biopsies but now I'm wating for the results in two weeks. The Dr.
Avatar f tn I have chronic colitis and gastritis and I just recently found out that I may have acid reflux as well. I had my gallbladder removed a month ago and instead of the pain getting better it has gotten worse. I have stopped eating completely because no matter what I eat it upsets my stomach. I have had one pain free day in almost three years and at this point I am exhausted. What should I do?
Avatar f tn i am 17 years old and i have had acid reflux for all my life and i used to take nexium for it. but lately i have been getting more than the usual nausea. lately especially i have been getting a sharp shooting pain in my stomach, it feels almost like a stabbing pain. It lasts for only about 30 minutes...but while i have the pain i always get really dizzy and i cannot see what is in front of me. What does this mean?
Avatar n tn Thanks, but not a doctor. Considered entering the medical profession, but... well, that's a long story. I would consider myself dangerously well informed, in that while I know a fair amount about what I'm talking about, everyting I say (and indeed, whatever anyone tells you on this sort of board) should be run past your doctor(s) before implementation since I could very, very well be wrong. (And anyone offering a diagnosis via the internet is not to be trusted, period.
560753 tn?1216052052 After that he prescribed me with Nexium, Prilosec and that was it. I was ok for a month or so and then I developed constipation. So I was switching from diarrea to constipation on and off. The burping continue and it seems to happend before I get my period. Is 5:41 am and I got up because of gas in my stomach and diarrea. I haven't being able to have a deasent night of sleep for the past 4 days. That happens every month. And I just don't know what to do.
Avatar m tn put me on a high dosage of antibiotics a month later and I am on Nexium 40mg once a day. It has been 6 months and I still have some hunger type pains and nausea after I eat. A bit better but not any worse. No vomiting / high temps / blood in stool. I do have yellow stools which I assume are caused by all the tums and nexium I am taking. I have GI appointment at the end of the month. Is it possible to have a stomach ulcer for 6 months?
Avatar n tn Hi i know what you are going through, I had my gallbladder out in aug of 2007, I went 6 months test after test then i got worse i started to vomit everytime i ate. I finally put a blog up and a dr responded by saying that your gallbladder is leaking from the inside thats why all the tests indicated that my gallbladder was normal. I had it taken out and he was right. be persistent you know there is something wrong don't let the drs tell you different.
Avatar n tn One of the typical symptoms of on-going issues after the gallbladder is removed is continuing pain/discomfort - or a feeling like a 'gallbladder attack.' The attacks can last from minutes to hours and when prolonged, can elevate liver and possibly pancreatic enzyme levels in the blood. In some cases the issue is due to SOD, sphincter of Oddi dysfunction. Here is a good link: http://www.hopkins-gi.org/GDL_Disease.aspx?
Avatar m tn Hello, I have lived for several yaers now with GERD, I use Nexium 40mg 2 or 3 times a week, it helps me a lot but I often have a pain in beetween my shoulders after meals epecially fried meals. Could this be the same heartburn I feel in my chest after a meal? It always comes from 1 to 2 hours after a meal. it seams to me that Nexium don`t have any affect on this symptom.
Avatar f tn So, it took about 2 weeks total before I hit the ER. Ultrasound of my gallbladder was normal. Blood test results were all normal. U/A = normal. I then had a CT scan of my right abdomen, and it also came back normal. Also relevant, I was dx with IBS (constipating) at age 16 (I'm 35 now). FYI - bowel movements did not relieve any of these symptoms.
979080 tn?1323433639 Prilosec and Nexium are very similar. Nexium is Prilosec that has been slightly modified.
Avatar m tn Doctor reccomended Prilosec OTC. She was still leaning toward gallbladder. Day after started taking Prilosec, pain was the worst it had been at that point. Note, to mitigate the pain, i was taking Ibruprofen. Realizing that if it was an ulcer, I stopped taking the Ibruprofen. Prilosec seemed to help after that. Felt as if improving. Had HIDA done. Normal results. Day I got the results (before I got them, just to rule out my brain turning against me), started feeling worse.
Avatar n tn They took be my ambulance to the hospital sure it was my gallbladder. After a sonogram, ct scan, and a HIDA scan showed the gallbladder was fine, they sent me home after 3 days. I then had a endocopy that showed all was fine and they diagnosed me with reflux. Ok fine. Treatable. Good news. I cannot however, eat anything. I have not had a meal in 9 days. Either I throw it back up or the pain is crazy. I have been taking nexium for about 8 days now and I see no difference. Any ideas?
Avatar n tn I too had an ultrasound that revealed no gallbladder or no functioning of the gallbladder. What percent was your gallbladder functioning at?
Avatar f tn does poeple advice me for natural medicine for my acid reflux and give some advice last month May 2011 i surgery with my gallbladder but after my post surgry i still encounterd the symptoms like hurtburn, acid flow in mouth trouth i finish taking nexium for 2weeks but now i fell continious acid reflux stress
Avatar n tn That being said mine was at 52% but i had an extremely delayed gallbladder (sluggish) but i was having all gallbladder related symptoms, i had mine out out Jan 10th and have been feeling so much better... I had a ton of scar tissue on it which was not seen on any scans or tests. Sometimes they dont know until they actually get in there...did you have any symptoms when you had the HIDA scan? How long did it take before they injected the 2nd injection?
