Nexium gallbladder

Common Questions and Answers about Nexium gallbladder

nexium

Avatar f tn He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.
Avatar n tn I was just put on Nexium two weeks ago. I take 2 40 mg. per day. At first, it really seemed to help, but lately, I have been having some abdomen pain. I am afraid to quit taking it for fear of the belching and heartburn coming back, but the abdominal pain is no fun either. I have read that abdominal pain and nautiousness are side effects to Nexium. How long do these generally last? When should I call my doctor? I had an ultrasound done to check out the gallbladder.

Avatar n tn After a few months, I was diagnosed with gallbladder dyskinesia (my EF was 19%). I started taking Nexium, but the heartburn persisted. I told the doc it might be GP, but at first he said "let's hold off on that until we get this figured out." A few months later, he says, "I think your first suspicions may have been right. Let's get you to a gastric emptying exam." I'm scheduled for this Wednesday.
Avatar n tn I have all the test all negative for gallbladder. I got a second opinion and did a bile asperation. He found crystals in the bile. my question can you have pain from this that radiates to the right side up the back and proceeds to have pain all along the diaphragm area and appears intermittent. I get this pain and it starts on the right and then lingers to the left side a while. my doctor suggest to take out the bladder. what do you think. I have a lot of pain. scale 1-10 it rates a 7 to 8.
Avatar f tn Has anyone stopped the Nexium and had the biliary dyskinesia go away and gallbladder return to a normal ejection fraction? I have been on Nexium for the last year. I was on it once previous to this go-around and had stopped taking it for a few months. Then a horrible acid reflux hit. I was on Lorazepam, at the time, too, when the acid reflux hit. It was my understanding acid reflux was a side effect of the Lorazepam.
Avatar m tn Hi, Im hoping to talk to a doctor about nexium. Im here on behalf of my girlfriend who recently started to take nexium for her stomach pains. She has been very hot at random times and has been nauseas at night. Her period was suppose to start yesterday but it has not yet and we are not sure as to why it has not. She had one episode of cramps this morning but it was very short and ended soon after.
Avatar n tn Seems my condition is caused by a combination of gallbladder dyskinesia (a gallbladder that doesn't pump right) and borderline idiopathic (possibly post-viral) gastroparesis, a condition where the food hangs around in your stomach for too long. Feel free to shoot me the email and I'll offer as much help as I can.
Avatar n tn Has anyone experienced any side effects on Nexium? I feel like it is making me more nasueas and queasy than Prevacid. I was taking 40 mg of Nexium daily and have just switched to 30 mg daily of Prevacid.
Avatar n tn I have never had a history of overacid stomach condition, but years of gallbladder trouble. Occasional distress in the high mid-stomach/esophagus was relieved immediately by digestive herbs that stimulate bile flow, etc.
Avatar n tn There are some small studies that suggest that removing the gallbladder can help with the discomfort in cases of low-gallbladder ejection fractions. If the tests continue to be negative, more specialized testing can be considered. This can include a 24-hr pH study or gastric emptying scan. An MRCP can be considered to evaluate the biliary ducts. These options can be discussed with your personal physician. Followup with your personal physician is essential.
Avatar n tn That being said mine was at 52% but i had an extremely delayed gallbladder (sluggish) but i was having all gallbladder related symptoms, i had mine out out Jan 10th and have been feeling so much better... I had a ton of scar tissue on it which was not seen on any scans or tests. Sometimes they dont know until they actually get in there...did you have any symptoms when you had the HIDA scan? How long did it take before they injected the 2nd injection?
Avatar n tn But all they told me about it was that it will most likely turn into gallstones and I will end up having to have my gallbladder taken out and that until that happens all I can do is watch what I eat but I can't take dealing with these symtoms anymore so if anyone knows anymore information about it or anything I can do to help with the symtoms would you please let me know. Avatar n tn Can you have gallbladder pain for a week and then have it go away? Do the attacks usually recur after a certain amount of time? I had pain for a little over a week but have felt fine since then. I'm scheduled to have a HIDA scan done on December 31st. Just wondering if it's common for these symptoms to occur, be quite severe, and then just seemingly disappear. Thanks!
Avatar n tn 2) A low-fat diet may help with gallbladder symptoms. 3) It is possible for a dysfunctional gallbladder to lead to fatigue. 4) A low gallbaldder ejection fraction may lead to abdominal discomfort and pain. Small studies have shown that removing the gallbladder can help with the symptoms. However, excluding other causes of the spasms needs to be done before pursuing this route. Followup with your personal physician is essential.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GERD several months ago, and lived with almost daily pain (no meds were really working) until about 2 months ago, when I started Nexium. I was blissfully almost with any symptoms for about 6 weeks, even if I ate common reflux triggers, but now I'm experiencing pain again. Can Nexium just stop working like that? I should add that my diagnosis came after basic blood tests, an endoscopy, an ultrasound to check my gallbladder and a CT scan of my abdomen.
Avatar n tn Hi, Though gallbladder problems cause right sided pain, not all cases of right sided pain are due to gallbladder problems. An Ultrasound scan may show whether gallbladder is involved. ================================================================ The information provided is for patients’ education only and is not a medical advice. Avatar n tn In May 2001, I had my gallbladder removed, after being sick for 2 years with stomachaches and nausea. My gallbladder only workd 13% of the time. I felt better right after I had it taken out but then in February of 2002 I began to get sick again. I would get sick with what seemed like a stomach virus every 3 weeks or so. Every time i got sick again it would be worse. I went to the Family doctor in June..and had an upper GI done which came back normal.
Avatar f tn Well the doctor felt around my stomach area and told me it could not be gallbladder because my right side does not feel swollen. Gave me Nexium which I will take to see. But my question is the pain is everyday and its all the symptons of gallbladder. I have an appt with a gastro dr in three weeks don't know If I can make it. The dr told me if it gets worse go to the ER yeah sure it will cost me mega bucks. I might just have to do it.
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed last year and ever since then my heartburn has been constant. I have been to a gastro and all he told me to do is to take prilosec twice in the morning and twice at night and it helped for one month and now it doesn't help anymore. I have been taking tons of different over the counter drugs without relief. I don't even have to eat or drink anything and I have heartburn and I am really getting discouraged. I have even tried aloe vera juice with no relief.
Avatar m tn Or is it gallbladder, anemia, B12, or other? I have some gallbladder symptoms, but not others. I have GERD, but that doesn't explain the light headedness / dizzyness (which is my primary concern as of now.) I just feel "weird" and a bit spaced out. Is it all related? I haven't really had heartburn, but do burp a lot. I sometimes feel like "fumes" are coming up my esophagus. I'm hoping a new PPI drug will solve it. I don't want gallbladder issues. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed laproscopically five years ago.Shortly after that I started having these "episodes" I break out into a sweat (sometimes soaking my clothes) I get wicked pain in my mid abdominal section followed immediately by huge amounts of air pushing out (similar to a burp) but it does it automatically, I experinece this for anywhere from several minutes to an hr and always vomit. It is almost like a swith is flipped and then it is gone.
Avatar n tn They said there was no kidney stone, or heart issues. They concluded that I had a gallbladder attack. I was put on a restricted diet with no fats, no grease, no fried, and no caffeine. I have had two blood tests back here in the states- everything showed normal. They tested for H.pylori- came back negative. A complete abdominal ultrasound showed no gallstones. I had a HIDA scan with CCK yesterday. It showed an output of 77%. Can there still be something wrong with the gallbladder?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with gall stones in 2007, I was pregnant at the time so I followed up regularly with a GI doctor. He put me on Nexium and told me if I experienced pain to go to the ER. I continued to have gallbladder pain every so often but in February of 2009, I was admitted into the hospital and they were going to do my surgery. When the surgeon got in he said my anatomy was different and he had to do an open surgery. When I woke up there was a tube draining liver bile out of my body.
114870 tn?1210301946 Im posting for my Mom. She had her gallbladder removed 2 months ago laproscopicly (sp). Two weeks after surgery its been awful. Vomiting bile and sometimes food, excruciating pain where the gallbladder was and sometimes radiates to the back. We've been to the hospital twice ever since, a week each time, and nobody can find whats going on. She's had upper GI, CT scan, US, X-rays, some sort of nuclear study and everything showing no complications. What can this be ????
Avatar f tn I had gallbladder disease and ended up having emergency removal surgery of the gallbladder in October. Now it is February and I am still not able to eat anything that contains fat. Some foods depending on what they are do end up going through me. Well others that I may try like meats or other foods that i used to enjoy make me feel nausua still , stomach pains, and make me very gassy. Eventually the only way I start to feel better is burping.
Avatar n tn I too had an ultrasound that revealed no gallbladder or no functioning of the gallbladder. What percent was your gallbladder functioning at?
Avatar n tn I just had a baby 5 weeks ago. The pregnancy was tough as I developed gallbladder symptoms about 15 weeks into it. I did alright with a low fat diet for awhile, but eventually I was having pain and symptoms no matter what I ate. My amylase has consistently been elevated since it was first checked last fall. About 2 months ago, I started having really bad pain in my left upper abdomen. It seems to get worse when I lay down at night.
Avatar f tn For nearly 2 years now, I have had a nagging pain, under right breast, and when I push in on ribcage it hurts, I have severe heartburn and acidic stomach, I have had 2 gallbladder ultrasounds done, and they said they were fine. I think they are wrong. This hurts, into my right shoulder blade and directly on right side up about 4 in under arm pit.
Avatar m tn movement in gallbladder region. Nexium or pain medication doesn't help whatsoever. * Is this a Gallbladder problem ? It feels like a GB problem to me * Should I consider surgery ? and I am willing to risk surgery if the problem will go away ! Please help, & Thank you.
