Nexium and naproxen

Common Questions and Answers about Nexium and naproxen

nexium

I was on Nexium for about a month and did not lose any weight. Sorry I could not be more help, but I dont think it is from the Nexium. Is it not possible it is from stopping the hormone pills? When I stopped taking Elavil years ago I lost all the weight that I had put on when taking it.
i've learned to accept that it will happen and i usually rest and take tylenol 3 and alternate with naproxen but this is the first attack since i was diagnosed and i wasn't sure what to take. cajun, dyce- thanks guys! take care.
My Dr believed I had gastritis related to Naproxen. I was treated for 30 days with losec, no real improvement and then 30 days with Nexium and not much improvement. My symptoms has lessened, but not gone completely away. I have been under a fair amount of stress this year for various reasons and I'm also a big worrier at the best of times, so I believe that is contributing. I was lucky enough to get into see a gastroenterologist yesterday. The next appointment was in October!
So the doctor said she thought it was an ulcer so I was taken off all NSAIDs, including the Naproxen. Since that time, the joint pain has gotten so bad I can't hardly move and when I go outside, in the cold, I instantly feel as if I have glass in my jointly. Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks in advance!!
9 weeks ago I hurt my heel, had been taken an old Naproxen prescription and Ibuprofen, but eventually went to the Dr 3 weeks later for a new Naproxen prescription. I have been on Naproxen many times for back pain with no side effects. A few days later, I started having episodes of feeling really bloated, with nausea. 2 episodes resolved, but the last one has continued now for 5 weeks.I saw my Dr and she was very sure I had a gastritis from the Naproxen, so I stopped it.
of Soma (N), 65mg Darvon 3xday (N), Nexium (GP), Lasix (GP), K-dur (GP), lipitor (GP), lamictal (GP), wellbutrin (GP), naproxen (GP), and Nuvigil (S), and I think that's it. I see my neurologist on Tuesday. What do others do who have coexisting problems and a myriad of prescriptions all working with or against each other? I am not at risk of hurting myself, but I do get very discouraged, and hate the thought that some medication I am on is making me LESS functional rather than more.
I get headachs on an off and some are fairly nasty but I only use Naproxen and Ibuprophen because I am sensitive to other stronger drugs. I do have an accupuncturist that has given me several hints for my headachs that work well and I can do them on my own and if I get one that is just too awful then I may go in for a treatment. I wish I could get something to make them just quit but for now I guess I just do what I can.
I went to the ER did all tests came up fine but they ended up giving me Naproxen Ec 500 mg so I went home took the medication for a week and felt so sick and started having stomach pain + constipation + can't eat felt full I cant even drink water because as soon as I eat or drink some thing, I start Burping + feeling pressure around my neck + also feel like some thing stock on top of my throat and at the end of my esophagus.
The dizziness resembled being carsick, with lightheadedness and occasional moments of nausea and feeling faint (but I never passed out). I had a CAT scan and blood work twice, and so far no diagnosis for the dizziness/fatigue. It got better for a few weeks but last week I began to have dizzy spells again, this time accompanied by maxillary sinus pressure. I had just switched allergy medications, from Nasonex to generic Flonase, right at the time my symptoms returned.
My symptoms were lots of burping, feeling full with very little food intake, heavy feeling in my stomach after eating, and a very full feeling in my upper abdomen and occasional heartburn and some nausea, no vomiting and lots of gas.. I was treated for 1 month with Losec 20mg with no real improvement. I was switched to Nexium 40mg for another month in case the gastritis was severe or if I had developed an ulcer. At this time, I had blood work for Celiac Disease and bloodwork for H.
(I also take 1000mg of naproxen and 40mg of nexium daily). My doctor told me that I could still have my occassional glass of wine, or a beer while on these meds. I hadn't had any alcohol in 5 days. I have since started the Lexapro and last night I had one beer with dinner. Is it possible that the beer pushed everything through me so quickly that my stool didn't have a chance to change colors?
I had a ultrasound done a year or two ago that indicated sludge in my gallbaldder but no stones. I am currently taken atenelol, nexium, and was taking aleve for about 4 days just prior to the blood tests. The naproxen was for muscle aches associated with the flu. Do you think such limited use of naproxen just prior to the blood test could affect the GGT results? Could the gallbladder sludge be the culprit?
I have just found out that the OTC pain med ALEVE has come to Canada. And have herd it works good for pains. Does anyone know if this works well for back pain. Thanks for any info on this med.
My Dr said I should have been feeling better in 1 month, but that the Nexium is stonger and the dose is higher and I might just need more time and more drug than the losec provided. She did originally tell me to give it at least the full month to feel better We are also pursuing other diagnosis, such as H.
They only last a few seconds. The build and peak like labor pains. Say I'm in the kitchen and I'll feel it coming on so I have time to brace myself. I'll set down whatever it is i'm holding and get ready. I have to cross my legs, bend my knees, hold on to something, clench my body tight, and try to breathe. Thank God it only lasts a few seconds. My 14 yr. old son witnessed it yesterday and tried to call 911. I kept signaling him not to. I knew it wouldn't last long. My gyno.
Ive been on naproxen, nexium, dexilant, and many other medications but nothing is working. Ive been taking ibuphroen to ease the pain but its not helping any more. Ive had ultra sound on my stomach, ultra sound on gull bladder, die test on my gull bladder, x-rays, and many blood test run and they can't figure it out. Tommorrow im getting a scope test done but they act like thats not going to solve anything. I have doctor bills aidding up but no answers.
About two weeks ago a dull pain started suddenly in my lower back on the right side. It was just an uncomfortable pain, just enough to be noticed. I was nervous because my father has a history of kidney stones, I'm 24, and I'm on a medication (Topomax) that makes me likely to get them. However I did not have any blood in my urine, my back was not tender to touch, there was no pain urinating, and the pain was not getting any worse.
I have had blood work done, a chest x-ray, ECG, and have been given muscle relaxants (that I never took) and Naproxen (that I never took) and was then told it's anxiety. I feel like I'm losing my mind!!! I am in pretty good shape, quit smoking in December of 2007, don't really drink, and eat healthy. I too think that medicine does more harm then good, but I am getting to the end of my rope now and just want an answer as to what it is.
I have been to the hospital 3 times for chest pain, mostly on the left side, left arm pain (sometimes numb, sometimes achey), and sharp pain in my upper back. They ran an EKG, CT scan (they thought i had a blood clot in my lungs), and a chest x-ray. Their results where all basically the same, that it was anxiety or indigestion. Now, I have been on Zoloft for a long time now for anxiety, but when I started having chest pains and numbness in my arm, I began having panic attacks.
She is fairly healthy otherwise, suffers some allergies, seasonal environmental and scent reactions mainly. She has been on Naproxen and Nexium for over a year for painful periods, but no other meds regularly. 2 weeks is a very long time in a 14 yr old's life, particularly when it's so unpleasant.
I get this crazy burning sensation in my chest and arms and then it gets tight and my arms stay tingling, almost like a blood pressure cuff is on. I thought about going to the ER but they are packed tonight seeing as its a holiday weekend. Then I started to panic thinking that I'm having a heart attack, which I know I'm not because I had a echo-stress test about 3 weeks ago and everything was normal and looked good.
and she said it was costochondritis and gave me naproxen. A couple weeks went by and the pain lessened but wouldn't go away. I went back and a different dr said the same but gave me steroids and a sample of nexium. The stabbing pain in my ribs went away with the nexium and eventually the rest of the pain went away. A couple weeks later though the pain came back, it wasn't as bad but it was constant.
I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
Nexium 20mg twice a day Domperidone 10mg twice a day Buscopan 20mg twice a day Naproxen 500mg twice a day Amytriptaline 50mg at night and co-codamols for pain relief?? that don't touch my pain and just causes major impaction and then I'm on the movicol :( Ive been dumped on tablets with no end in sight and finally my question I only had painful bm and diarrhoea? where did i go wrong? I'm on 10 to 16 tablets a day its so depressing, there has to be another way, right?
I cant ly on my left side because of the pain and it feels that there is not enough space for my lung and my hart beat raises. My left arm also pain and have pins and needles in my hand. I also suffer from fever for years. Most days I am feeling sick. I do take Celebrex for the rib pain these last month. I were diagnosed yesterday with Cotsochondritis but do not know if it can be something else.
It is so true that Magnesium and Calcium may be depleted due to extended use of PPI's. I have been on them for years and just only found this out. I have had a dull ache in my left side right under my rib cage and would get scared from time to time and have my Liver Enzymes checked just to make sure it was not my liver. Then I began to think it was my large colon that passes near the liver. I also had an EGD done to make sure it was not my stomach or gall bladder.
Then the doc said I dont think its your thyroid I think it acid reflux and you should stop the naproxen (you think). Anyway they put me on Prilosec and after a couple endoscopy's I found out I was fine, a couple polyps (spelling again) and a nodule on my esophogus which they remove then and there. Since then I just take one pill a day and problem solved. My doctor said the same about taking the PPI to prevent cancer.
These are often prescribed for runners, sports injuries to joints, and those suffering from arthritis. Syva labs has recently reworked its Cannabinoid test and claims to have eliminated this problem. But a Science magazine article (July 8, 1988) lists Ibuprofen as cross reactive. Under the new government guidelines THC testing levels will be reduced to 50 nanograms. Many more THC false positives can be expected in 1994. Dristan Nasal Spray, Neosynephren, Vicks Nasal Spray, Sudafed, etc.
I've been given celebrex and it helps the joint pain but it makes the gerd worse even though I take nexium. I am having a MRI soon for my knee for the leg pain so maybe something will show in that. My GF had RA and I have aunts with lupus and vasculitis so autoimmune disease does run in my family and my Dr. is aware of this. I just don't fit anywhere and I don't want them to think I'm imagining any of this so I don't go to the Dr. often. Thanks again for your concern.
i also have killer migraines, also GERD so i take nexium along with it, 1 Naproxen every 6 hours. it has really made a difference. i don't know what withdrawls the next days will be, but at this moment i am o.k. please think long and hard before picking that script up! where i live, i can buy the T1's I am addicted to over the counter...and believe me, i am having a hell of a time not doing it!! I do have constant cravings, but i am sure that is to be expected for months to come!
