Nurse advised me to take ZIDOLAM-N as PEP for 28 days. After continuing for 3 days i visited a doctor and he told me that Nevirapine should not be used for PEP but since i already started the PEP, he advised me to continue the same medication and asked to monitor closely the side effects of the drug. Now today Friday i am experiencing some pain in the upper abdomen.
Is there any possibility that i can change the PEP drug to avoid nevirapine, please Suggest?
I am going to the US in 2 days, if I cannot find a way to get pep here, could I take his ARVs just until then as a temporary measure? He says he takes nevirapine and tenofivir/lamivudine blend.
Any advice really appreciated! If my risk is very low I would prefer not to take pep but I suspect I may be best advised to do so.
If it makes a difference, I am prone to have a tiny amount of blood(I think from tears) on toilet paper when I use the bathroom so that may make it more risky?

Some anabiotic's can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills, but most do not. Metronidazole (Flagyl) is what is usually used to treat BV and it does not has not been shown to decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Because some antibiotics like rifampin used to treat tuberculosis may decrease the effectiveness of birth control some providers are just more comfortable telling people they should use an additional back up birth control method on any antibiotics.

Did you ever take a pregnancy test to even see if you were pregnant? If not then maybe your period was just late. If you knew for sure that you were pregnant and now you're bleeding you should go see your doctor.

hi! I am new to this site. But i am wanting some info and keep getting different opinions. I ovulated may 22nd and sunday i starred bleeding and bled monday and today but today it stopped for about an hour and cam back and went away again. But now i only see it when i wipe. I had clots when i was bleeding. But im not vbleeding heavy like a normal period and i dont even feel like i should be on my period. Could i be pregnant.
