He does not know his viral load count though as for some reason he was never tested for that(he is from a developing country and they never offered that test, he only knows his CD4 count). I am assuming his viral load is very low after a couple of years of meds?
Also I really do not know how I could get pep here, neither he or I speak Spanish and English is not spoken here at all except in hotels.
Nurse advised me to take ZIDOLAM-N as PEP for 28 days. After continuing for 3 days i visited a doctor and he told me that Nevirapine should not be used for PEP but since i already started the PEP, he advised me to continue the same medication and asked to monitor closely the side effects of the drug. Now today Friday i am experiencing some pain in the upper abdomen.
Is there any possibility that i can change the PEP drug to avoid nevirapine, please Suggest?

On Saturday morning last week I met a girl in Cambodia. After a few drinks together I took her back to my hotel & we had sex. I used a condom throughout the intercourse, however, after I ejaculated & pulled out I noticed the condom broke. It must have broke near the end as when we changed positions I noticed it was intact each time.
How is it that HIV sufferers are getting these opportunistic infections even though their CD4 is pretty much normal? I thought that it was purely CD4 levels that dictated the health of someone with HIV, not the fact that they have the virus itself. It doesn't make sense to me.
Secondly, this also makes me think that a test on my CD4 count could be completely pointless.
Last week( about 4 years after exposure) I took another CD4/CD8 test, at same labs, and it came CD4- 1228, CD8-954 and CD4/CD8 1,29. Both test were took in the morning.
Can I take this as conclusive? Or I might still be in risk ? I mean, should I take this raise in CD4 as a good sine, or its possible from CD4 and CD4/CD8 to raise without meds after 4 years of contamination.

Instead last month i have done CD4+CD8 test and the results were(WBC 5900/ul, CD4 38% Absolute CD4 833/ul ,Cd8 25%, CD4/Cd8 1.5) I have done the same test again just yesterday and the results were( WBC 7100/ul, CD4 46% Absolute CD4 1923/u,CD8 20%, CD4/CD8 2.3).....................How can my Absolute count of CD4 from this month is so much more that previous month? I know that the test can vary but not this much!!! Is It possible that the lab made a mistake this time?....IS THIS NORMAL?
after 2 days of 9th week I got my antibody result back n the result came back Non-Reactive, bt they told me that I have to wait for 10 days to get the cd4/cd8 result,I was then quite relaxed as my 9th week antibody test came negative n not ever concerned with the cd4/cd8 test,bt 2 days back when I got my cd4/cd8 result my mind gone crazy like hell,

The CD4/CD8 ration is outdated and no longer used to evaluate person with HIV ad has NO role in evaluating risk for infection in others who do not have HIV. Your CD8 cell count is high and your CD4 lymphocyte count is normal. In persons with HIV, the CD4 count is low because of the infection (the virus selectively destroys CD4 cells) and that, in turn, makes the ratio of CD4 to CD8 cells also low. In normal people both CD4 and CD8 counts fluctuate a great deal normally.

My HIV doctor has started me on Atripla and assures me that my counts will go up once I've started my treatment regimen. I have been taking Atripla since Friday and have had absolutely no side-effects, not even the Vivid Dreams that I was so looking forward to.
