He does not know his viral load count though as for some reason he was never tested for that(he is from a developing country and they never offered that test, he only knows his CD4 count). I am assuming his viral load is very low after a couple of years of meds?
Also I really do not know how I could get pep here, neither he or I speak Spanish and English is not spoken here at all except in hotels.
Nurse advised me to take ZIDOLAM-N as PEP for 28 days. After continuing for 3 days i visited a doctor and he told me that Nevirapine should not be used for PEP but since i already started the PEP, he advised me to continue the same medication and asked to monitor closely the side effects of the drug. Now today Friday i am experiencing some pain in the upper abdomen.
Is there any possibility that i can change the PEP drug to avoid nevirapine, please Suggest?

CD16 + 56 + and CD3 + /HLA-DR + lymphocytes showed median values above the normal range starting from day 30. Immunological recovery was similar in all 3 groups.

I learned that during HIV infection the CD4 and CD4 percentage, CD4/CD8 ratio will go down gradually and CD8 will rise, which is very similar to my result. I cannot think other reason to explain this, the only difference is that back in June I got a very severe cough and was on anti-biotics for several weeks.

I am newly diagnosed with HIV last February of this year, had my cd4 count (t-cells) checked and it's still good at 462. i've been exercising regularly and taking 1000mg of vitamin C and centrum multivatimins once a day.
just recently I developed red spots on my face and on my forearms, I had it checked with my doctor and told me it was caused by an allergy and is now under medications and food observation to figure out which food i am allergic at.
Surely if you had an especially quick decline after having initially contracted HIV you'd possibly see a lower than average CD4 count? I know that the average time before significant decline is a few years, up to many many years, so half a year doesn't seem implausible.
Hi, I had tried eveything just like you. This all began after I was on the prev-pac for 2 weeks. Things have gotten better. I only had one in june and 1 in sept. Still have no idea what was causing it or what made it better. All my test also came back negative. My CD4's were re-tested and came back normal.
But during that time (week 10) I also had a CD4 count test ( I requested from my Dr) , It was 560 ( normal was 600-1200). That Time I realized I got HIV and depend on this My CD4 count goes Low! but I did last test at 11 weeks and 6 days after suspected exposure and it was Negative! I am very worry. How much you are sure My last test is definitely conclusive?
Last week( about 4 years after exposure) I took another CD4/CD8 test, at same labs, and it came CD4- 1228, CD8-954 and CD4/CD8 1,29. Both test were took in the morning.
Can I take this as conclusive? Or I might still be in risk ? I mean, should I take this raise in CD4 as a good sine, or its possible from CD4 and CD4/CD8 to raise without meds after 4 years of contamination.

Pls let me know what will be the life expectancy with HIV 2 virus . and which medications need to start. My CD4 count is 580. cd4/cd8 >1, Having tingling and burning sensation in legs, thighs and arms from last 7 years. Oral trush also there. In India I did DUO TEST fourth generation CMIA all negative, RApid Test is also came negative. Western Blot for HIV 1 is negative and HIV 2 is indeterminate.
5) I have done the same test again just yesterday and the results were( WBC 7100/ul, CD4 46% Absolute CD4 1923/u,CD8 20%, CD4/CD8 2.3).....................How can my Absolute count of CD4 from this month is so much more that previous month? I know that the test can vary but not this much!!! Is It possible that the lab made a mistake this time?....IS THIS NORMAL? Considering the CD4 percentage is 46%? I wasn't sick or anything this time!... Help me please!!!
ID doc said swelling in my neck is worrisome so hes giving me PCR-RNA/ HIV-1/2 AB, and CD4 TEST. ID doc said if infected CD4 will initially be very low as viral load high. Im now about 11-12 weeks past encounter and will take test in 2 days. My question is how long does CD4 count typically stay suppressed after infection. Whats a low CD4 count? If its low and other tests are negative could that point to possible infection that just hasnt been picked up on other tests yet?

I have asked before on this forum a couple of questions and your help set my mind at ease both times.
After a risky sexual encounter on October of 2008 I indeed got paranoid. There were 2 situations: I performed oral sex for seconds and the guy did not cum and by the time I was penetrating him the condom broke - I realized it rigth away and stopped (20 seconds of exposure).
m still having a sore throat (after 2 weeks) which usually subsides during day and erupts during sleep. I have seen other doctors and they have handed me over Amoxillin and cough medicines. I'm also noticing my skin getting easy bruises than past.
I want to know if these tests are sufficient enough to prove that I'm HIV Negative. If not, what other tests do I need to take and when?
I get very much depressed/ anxious and my doc has to put me on 'Libotryp' tablets.
