neurontin

Avatar f tn You are experiencing side effects of Neurontin, is all. Diff people react diff ways to it. Me, I have nausea that bothers me a lot. The weight gain you ask about is one of the side effects, as are the other problems you are having. I've been taking it for two years, and I also started out on Lyrica, but becuz of cost I had to switch. Neurontin has only been around for about 15 years, so for at least for that length of time you're good.
Avatar f tn Anyone have any side effects from starting neurontin or suggestions on how to adapt to using it. It's kicking my butt so far, so only taking it at night but a bit zoozy in the mornings. Am on 300mg, have titration orders but don't want to add any more at the present until I adjust to this night dose. anyone?
653169 tn?1303446369 ve been told the start up side effects on Neurontin are about the same as Lyrica and it took me a little less than a week for that sleepy dopey feeling to subside, and after that I felt ABSOLUTELY normal- like I hadn't taken anything whatsoever. You are on a very SMALL dose, so you'll adjust to it quickly. I'll tell you a funny story- my first week on Lyrica- I accidentally backed out of my garage when the garage door was only half way open.

Avatar m tn I have no symptoms and feel great; I am 54 and wondering if HEP C would kill me or if the treatment could cause long term effects that could ruin my health. The longest living male in my family was my father 86 and had slow progressive dementia the last 10 years.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Neurontin has alot of side effects. I took it and Ik alot of other people that have taken it and that are now taking it. I personally feel that the bad outweighs the good when it comes to this drug and Lyrica. There are so many bad side effects. Pitted edema, weight gain, blurred vision, sleep eating, can cause more pain than before you started, hangover into next day, brain fog, headaches etc... Just look up adverse reactions to this drug and see if you are experiencing them.

Avatar m tn I cannot find significant information specific to nerve pain ("burning", painful sensation when touched - even clothing hurts) that has been present since lumpectomy/sentinel node biopsy in December. I was able to control pain with Neurontin, but discontinued after a month due to bad side effects of dizziness, slurred speech, memory loss.
Avatar m tn Welcome, glad you found us! I'm so sorry to hear you've been suffering for so long. So, did the Neurologist give you confirmation that your symptoms are related to the Valium? Or, was it just a theory? Does he think the abrupt d/c of the med and the serious w/ds caused rthe symptoms, or just the med itself? These kinds of situations are so very difficult, because the facts are, it's rare that a person would have such long term effects from a medication, or from a med w/d.

Avatar m tn I was initially on pain meds (tramadol and vicadin) but got off due to bad side effects. Flexeril helps for a short term and helps then with sleep. I am also on NSAIDS. BUt finally got on a new transdermal cream with Ketamine and Ibupropin. You can't take Ketamine orally or you get hallucinations and Ibupropin kills my stomach. So far the cream has helped some. I would like to know more about your symptoms and what happened. Because it sounds similar.

428506 tn?1296557399 Sometimes those side-effects will work themselves out. If they are not serious side-effects, I would give your body more time to adjust. If ANYONE can find something that works everyday for nerve pain, I am all ears. Been looking for something that is effective, for the past 10 years. I think I've tried them all. None of us can expect all the nerve pain to disappear.
Avatar n tn She began having serious side effects. I started reading on the internet about long term effects. Now she has nearly all the side effects to greater or lesser degrees. The worst is falling. She's fallen 4 times in the last week and is covered with bruises, new and old. She is now taking 14mg per day and can't stop. She has been in two different detox facilities but as soon as she gets out, she starts taking it again. She is basically an invalid.
