neurontin

172023 tn?1334672284 If you are a self pay patient, you know how expensive Neurontin (gabapentin) is. My dosage is 600mg twice a day. CVS wanted $218 for a thirty day supply (60 tablets, 600mg each). Walmart wanted $110. But get this...the curious pharmacy tech looked up the price of 300mg capsules....$13 for a thirty day supply, 300mg, two capsules twice a day (equals one 600mg tab taken twice a day). Can you freaking believe that???? $110 for the 600mg, $13 for 300mg.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I kicked over to the generic version of the Neurontin because the pharmacy started giving me crap. They had to special order the 300 and 400mg tablets in and over half of those pills came in bubble sheets. It would take them 5 days to fill the med and I got tired of the hassle. But, now that I am using the 600mg tablets, that's not an issues and I can use my pill cutter to lop them down into 300 and 150mg portions. It'll be more cost effective for me that way.

Avatar n tn The most common anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS - Non-Steroidal Anti-INflammatory) are Motrin (Generic = Ibuprofen) or Aleve (Generic = Naproxen or Naproxen Sodium). I agree - use only one of these. If you use Aleve be careful if you are on Neurontin because is a small amount of cases Aleve will interact with Neurontin and cause a 12 - 15% increase in the absorption of the Neurontin (I know this from first hand experience).
Avatar f tn what do u mean by generic medicine, where do we get in India, I am from bengaluru,INDIA
Avatar f tn Patent comes off dec 2009 if I recall. As far as cost - if you have insurance once it's generic it usually goes on the cheaper generic copay list if you have that sort of insurance. so for instance if with your insurance you pay $30 for non-generic drugs on the approved list and $10 for generics on the approved list - you'd be paying $20 less/month for your valtrex. Typically it's 30% reduction in price when it goes generic initially for paying out of pocket. drugstore.
Business man2 This drug is still available as a generic, it looks like the price of the drug has increased due to higher cost for Walgreens to purchase it. I'm afraid the other drugs available for BPH will probably be as or more expensive than Doxazosin, but I would check with your local Walgreens pharmacist for more price options.
Avatar f tn s co-pay through my insurance is so high! $80 for 90 days. I could understand this price for the brand, but for generic? Anyway, I had tried this version as I had to with my last insurance, it and I didn't do as well on it. I tried it for a week. I an wondering if it was just my imagination. So if anyone has made the switch successfully, please post!
Avatar f tn it is a wrong name for drugs just to make more money for the first drug maker who did the drug generic is the same drug made from another drug maker, this is why the name generic is very wrong, generic sounds like the drug is different but only drug maker is different.
Avatar n tn brand entecavir in india is about 100usd per month so you don t even have to look for the lowest price of the generic which is half that prce.generics are very good to lower prices, virad has reached as low as 7usd per month in some asian countries both antivirals are useless on virus and only lower replication but the infection goes on and usually more cells gets infected under these antivirals. THEY ARE NOT AN HBV CURE!
Avatar f tn I have looked at different types and am a bit confused as to what is the difference between clomiphene citrate (brand) and clomid(generic)/ ovinum. The price for 30 50mg clomiphene citrate tablets is £151 but for the generic version for 30 50mg tablets its only £60. Does one work better than the other? please help am really desperate now!
649848 tn?1534633700 Just thought I'd let everyone know -- I picked up my refill for Tirosint this morning and the price has doubled, from what I've been paying. I've been paying $85.44 for 3 months; that jumped to $170.88 for 3 months. My insurance doesn't cover it, though it does save me a few bucks ($55 on this refill). I've contacted Akrimax, but don't know if they will respond or not.
5333788 tn?1366569346 Been off of it for 9 days. Was prescribed the generic brand of Neurontin 100mg Was advised by my Psychiatrist to increase dosage of Neurontin to 300mg on Friday. Still having crying spells. Was told that I was going through withdrawal symptoms from the Lyrica. Can this be possible even though I was taking Lyrica for a short period of time? Sorry if this does not make sense. Have been seen by a few doctor's, gone through many tests, the list goes on........
Avatar n tn Usually the price goes down about 30% once it goes generic. The real advantage is for folks who have insurance that have a flat rate for generic prescriptions - right now valtrex is either on their no discount list or at a higher rate - for instance my own it's $30/month. Once valtrex goes generic - for my own insurance it drops it down to a $10/month charge for me.
1359227 tn?1282522148 Neurontin in my opinion as a patient on it is a hit and miss. Sometimes it works for some things and other times it doesn't. I took it in 2003 for reflex sympathetic dystrophy of my right leg and it did absolutely nothing for the pain. Now I have unexplained full body nerve pain and it brings the pain down from a 10 to a 6 on most days and my dose is slowly being raised, so I suspect I will soon be relieved of the full body nerve pain.
Avatar m tn Guys I just bought my regular dose of baraclude .5mg today and there has been a price drop to inr745 for 10 tablets from 2450.BMS has finally made it a little affordable for all of us.
1378325 tn?1285346625 Express Scripts normally prescribe 90 days at a time, could this be where the confusion lies? Call a local pharmacist and just ask the difference in price with them, if the generic is cheaper then you know to question Express Scripts. It sounds like a mistake to me.
681148 tn?1437661591 My pharmacist just told me something important about Neurontin that I thought I should share with everyone, since so many people here are also taking Neurontin. He said that I should take the Neurontin either two hours BEFORE I take my nutritional supplements or two hours AFTER I take my nutritional supplements. He said that this is because nutritional supplements can make the Neurontin less effective.
649848 tn?1534633700 I've been hearing horror stories that brand name levothyroxine (Tirosint, Synthroid, etc.) has been skyrocketing in price.(I take generic T4 and T3, so I'm not familiar with what the prices of brand names usually run.) Some people noted that they noticed the price hike started to happen slowly after the recall of Levoxyl last year, so they were thinking it had to do with fewer brand name drugs available=price hike. It seems Levoxyl is in production again, but only somewhat recently.
1475202 tn?1536270977 s good news. I think if we give more time the price will come down more. $4 generic list at wal-mart would be great for a lot of people.
Avatar f tn If this is the first time you've experienced these symptoms in the 3 months you've been on Neurontin, I would highly doubt that the med is the culprit here. The symptoms you describe could be a result of a whole lot of things. Anxiety, for one, like you mentioned, you be the cause (or a contributing factor)...a virus...a simple change in your digestive patterns, GERD ("reflux"), etc etc.
