neurontin dosage for anxiety

t been effective so I am planning to switch to Neurontin. What is the average dose of Neurontin for pain management? More specifically, with a chronic pain level between 5-7. Is there a database for Neurontin dosage? I will be ramping to 300mg of Neurontin per day but am wondering if that's too conservative.

Does the Neurontin make you sleepy? I also take it for the pain in my feet. It doesn't make it go away but without it I would go insane. It also seem to help with my thigh muscles. They tend to work better when I take it. I only one pill 3x day because it makes me so sleepy and when the electric shocks hurt so bad and I have one toe that abosolutely is madden it feels like someone is pulling the skin down as hard as they can over the top of it. I'll then take 2 which does help.

I am currently stuck between a rock and a hard place. I am on 1600mgs of Neurontin (400mgs a day) and it has been working as a good mood stabilizer for me. In fact, we realized that the issues I was having in March were related to bouncing around on that dosage. I was given 1200mgs a day (mandatory) and 400mgs to take as needed to sleep. When I quit chewing I stopped taking the extra dose because I felt that I didn't need it; then I started cycling with the sun again.

Please do not worry about Neurontin. I have taken it for a long time and at twice the dose your at. I have not had one problem from it and it does work on my nerve pain. I have had absolutely no side effects even from the increases I've had. In my opinion, it is a completely safe drug. If you have any douts about it then Google "Neurontin Side Effects" it should give you a really good indepth look at the drug.

The last time i quit the percs (109 days ago) i stayed on the neurontin for 2 weeks. getting off of it is pretty nasty, you sweat a LOT and have anxiety (do some research on neurontin withdrawal). It will help you with the WD but be careful your body doesn't become dependant on that as well, because stopping the neuro is hell also.

Looking for people's experiences with Neurontin 1) in general and 2) specifically if its helpful for withdrawal. Hi everyone, I have heard that gabba is good for anxiety and it is all natural. Is this true? and I think I will go that route instead of benzos when I wean.

s started to become hit or miss for me again.. Sometimes the dose works well for my anxiety, other times it raises my anxiety level.. I have been on an increased dose (1600mgs a day) for a little while now and having issues with it.. the first three, 400mg doses chilled me out really well last night.. But the last dose before bed time caused me some serious anxiety. I have ativan and Xanax XR in the cabinet for 'as needed meds"; I rarely take them.

I have tried almost every medication and procedure recommended. I am now taking Neurontin, and am wondering if anyone takes Neurontin, what dosage has been helpful, and if it has made a difference in the condition of your headaches/migraines. Thanks so much.

I took neurontin for approx 10 years. It helped with my muscle spasms a great deal. I finally developed a tolerance to it up to the maximum recommended dosage, so switched to a different med. But it worked very well for me, with low side effects. Good luck.

Medication is very individual; what works for one won't necessarily work for another. How bad is your anxiety?

I'm taking the generic form, just recently resumed but have used it in the past. Neurontin is Rx-ed for nerve pain as an "off label" use, that it, treating nerve pain is not the function for which it was designed so it's not listed as a use on the manufacturer's label. It is actually an anti-seizure med, but it was found to also reduce neuropathy in patients. It is my understanding that Lyrica works much in the same way, and is a newer medication by the same company.

I've been taking neurontin (gabapentin) for several years, for a nerous system damage condition. It gives me some relief. A for side affects, none that I can say. Completely non - habit forming in my use, and I've been taking 1600mg daily for many years. I honestly don't feel any affects from it. In my opinion, it is a safe drug.

Anyone taking neurontin for anxiety? I was started on it almost 3 weeks ago...I was started out only on 100mg at bedtime, now I"m taking 200mg. Has anyone had any horrible side effects? After the 200mg I feel sort of drugged and really sleepy (although it didn't help me sleep, odd.) Just wondering what your experiences are.

If at all possible, you should not CT off Neurontin as it has seizure risk. I took the same amount at around that dosage for about 6 months. I did not like the way it made me feel, sort of foggy and gave me trouble with word finding and some memory issues. IT did help some with my nerve pain. I asked to come off it and can't remember exactly the taper, which we can't post anyway, but it didn't take long and I didn't have any withdrawals or problems with it.

I take it for nerve pain from MS, and it works pretty well. The max acccepted dosage is 3600 mg/day, which is a lot. Many MSers take that much, and I haven't heard of reactions like those described. Of course, everyone is different. If you can't tolerate Neurontin (gabapentin), you might try Lyrica. That made me gain weight like mad, but once again, your mileage may vary.

1200mg neurontin 1mg klonopin 20 mg lexapro, every morning and 600mg neurontin and 1mg klonopin in the eve. Neurontin has shown to be a mood stabilizer and good for anxiety. It helps...

I take 300mg 3 or 4 times a day and have been at this dosage for about 9 months for bulging C6/7. I'm scheduled for surgery in a few weeks and I want to stop the neurontin. My body starts aching horribly, and my mood really goes bad if I'm late for a dose. I'm on day two of eliminating the mid day dosage and I'm doing so-so. Does anyone have any advise for me?

For those of you who take Gabapentin (Neurontin): Just curious what side effects you have experienced (and at what dosage), and how long they lasted? I just started this last weekend, 300mg once a day at bedtime. I am having a really hard time waking up in the morning and for the first half of the day I feel a little "loopy" or my head feels "swimmy"....if that makes any sense.....
