Common Questions and Answers about Neurontin and lexapro

neurontin

620877 tn?1282764097 I am sorry to hear you are going through this. Are you taking DMD's? I am sure the anxiety from the Neurontin and Lexapro is a side effect of those meds. If you are on DMD's that can increase the negative effects on our mentality. I would definately talk more with your Dr. The sad thing is...usually their answer is more meds. I am definately not an expert, but do you do any sort of yoga or tai chi?
Avatar m tn I am now prescribed .5mg xanax 2times a day 20 mg of valium at bed time along with lexapro and trazadone (if needed). I am also prescribed 100mg neurontin 3 times per day in between the xanax to help with withdrawal symptoms. Is this a safe cocktail and is it hard to get off neurontin?
Avatar n tn I am on 20mg of Lexapro and 30mg of Remeron. Was on 10mg Lexapro and 45mg Remeron, but the weight gain is very real so I am attempting to get off the Remeron. When I asked what I could add to the Lexapro (since I have treatment resistant depression) I was told Seroquil might be a good addition. Sometimes I'm not sure if my doctor really knows what he's talking about. I don't want to gain weight on Seroquil after finally getting off Remeron.
479459 tn?1246742019 I had the crawly skin and anxiety for a while. Actually took Lexapro. Neurontin or Lyrica would work onthe crawly skin, it did for me. Hopefully somebody more informative can answer you, sorry.
Avatar f tn Next June I have an appointment with a rheumathologist. Actually I am on lyrica 75mg bid, neurontin 400mg, Lexapro 10mg and klonopin 0.5mg. Sometimes the pain is horrible and nothing helps. I don't know what I have.
579469 tn?1311705550 Hey there...I'm glad today has been such a triumphant one for you! Just thought I'd throw in my tid-bit about Lexapro. I was prescribed Lexapro and while I thought at first it was helping me with depression..3 years later I realized that my life had just passed me by. I was a zombie, had gained a TON of weight and stopped having friends or any kind of social interaction AT ALL.
Avatar m tn It may require several dosage increases before you notice any improvements, and generally speaking, when Neurontin is used for anxiety-type situations, it requires a much higher dose than when it is used to treat Neuralgia. Any which way....please let us know how you're doing, buddy!
8496079 tn?1398412516 Has the drug Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) worked for Fibromyaglia pain within a few days of taking this medication for the horrible pain from the Fibro? I was put on Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) yesterday by my doctor for my Fibromyalgia Condition in addition to the Norco 7.5/325 I can take up to 4 pills day as needed for the massive pain I'm in.
1029865 tn?1252418538 I was taking 1 mg of xanax 3 times a day now i take 1200mg neurontin, 1mg klonopin, 20mg lexapro in the morning and 600mg neurontin, 1 mg klonopin in the eve... If I was you and you need it I would ask for it twice a day. Because that will wear off by the eve. I have major depression, general anxiety, panic disorder and social anxiety.
19579692 tn?1480373351 Hi, About two months ago I started getting unbearable itching on mostly my upper body. I've had no increase in the meds I take (Oxycodone, MS Contin, Neurontin, Lexapro, Benzodiazepines). I've seen my MD, pain doctor and finally a dermatologist. I'm now on Hydroxyzine but can only take right before bed due to extreme sleepiness. I am awaiting all blood test results but so far they look good. Sarna lotion helps but have to keep applying every half hour.
Avatar m tn Then, about 2 ½ years ago I had a near-psychotic meltdown, mostly about the devil and evil spirits, and was diagnosed with OCD and prescribed Anafranil and Zyprexa, which helped with the irrational thinking and obsessive thoughts a little. Between now and then, I have been diagnosed with OCD, Social anxiety disorder, GAD, major depressive disorder, ADHD, and most recently, aspergers/high functioning autism.
Avatar f tn Yes I hate Lexapro. The headache will pass in a week and some of these side effects. But after that I was jogging and loss all the strength in my legs. I was taking it with Neurontin and klonopin so I don't know if the combo caused it or the Lexapro but once I went off of it I felt so much better. I would call your doctor about the side effects but the headache is normal and will go away in a week. The rest I don't know and the nervousness isn't good.
Avatar f tn Hello there. I would say continue following the instructions upon your prescription until you see your doctor again. If Prozac has noticably helped you that's good but i do know of other anti-depressants that are more focused on anxiety. If it comes down to it you may ask your doctor about Buspirone and/or Lexapro. I'm sensitive to anti-depressants Lexapro has seemed to help a bit and ive taken Buspirone (Buspar) for 4 days now noticing some improvement.
Avatar m tn I have been looking over the Thomas Recipe, and I have some questions. First here is a list if med's I am taking Flexerile, Soma, Cymbalta, and Neurontin. Will any of these medications help, or hurt doing the Thomas Recipe? I really don't have access to the valium. I can't taper down because I have taken my last pills today, and I am dry. I noticed the recipe said to watch taking MAIO's with some of the supplements. Does anyone know anything about this.

1309535 tn?1297200280 I had the same problem with Lexapro and Effexor. My mind worked overtime at night. I felt great as far as mood and anxiety went but I had insomnia. I tried ambien and trazedone to no avail. Trazedone left me awake feeling like I had to bricks on my eyelids. I finally started taking Klonopin .25 at night and that helped. Then my doctor put me on it AM and PM. Somehow I still had some residual anxiety that left my mind in overdrive. Neurontin can help with sleep also.
Avatar n tn You can also ask the doc to consider neurontin or lyrica. I've taken both for neuropathy pain.
Avatar n tn I DESPERATELY WANNA GET PREGNANT AND THEREFORE, NEED TO WEAN OFF ALL MY MEDS... I NEED HELP TO WEAN OFF... I AM CURRENTLY TAKING DEPAKOTE 500MG, LEXAPRO 20MG/DAY, TRAZADONE 300MG @NIGHT, AMBIEN 10MG (WHICH I'VE STARTED SPLITTING IN 1/2). NEURONTIN 600MG 4X A DAY... I ALSO TAKE ROBAXIN & BACLOFEN ALMOST EVERY DAY... FENTANYL PATCH 12 MCG/DAY (WHICH I MAY NEED TO GO INPATIENT FOR. SO I'M MORE CONCERNED WITH THE PSYCH MEDS) THANK YOU IN ADVANCE...
Avatar f tn i was diagnosed with bipolar 6 years ago after a head injury and was taking zyprexa. Soon after, I was hospitalized with pancreatitis. The doctors immediatly took me off the zyprexa. Since then I have quit all alcohol and never did take drugs. I am currently taking Lexapro, but i don't feel it is what i need. I am constantly tierd, gaining weight, have constant muscle pain, especially in my feet and legs. I still suffer from mood swings, the ups and downs.
Avatar n tn But if you still have anxiety maybe you should switch to klonopin, that what I did. 1200mg neurontin 1mg klonopin 20 mg lexapro, every morning and 600mg neurontin and 1mg klonopin in the eve. Neurontin has shown to be a mood stabilizer and good for anxiety. It helps...
Avatar f tn I suffered a major deppressive episode 13 years ago and am still on anti-depressants. I asked my doctor if I could wean off the meds, and she told me that b/c of my one depressive episode and my family history of mental illness I will have to be on the meds for the rest of my life. I don't want to be! We don't even know how I would feel without meds. I'm afraid of the long-term effects. I'm on 20 mg of Lexapro and 900 mg of Neurontin. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Avatar f tn My psychiatrist is thinking about it for my anxiety, since nothing is working since a terrible and weird and untreated Paxil withdrawal four years ago. And to the poster, she says it's okay to take with klonopin, if that's any help, since I'm on klonopin and asked her about that.
497950 tn?1255863927 m on Zoloft and Depakote - I still cycle but not as badly - I feel like a fat whale and have gained about 5 lbs (not that much really) I really liked how Lexapro and Depakote improved my sleep and lowered my blood sugar readings (I am also diabetic) but one dosage of the Lexapro gave me dysphoric mania and that is not good and a higher dosage gave me "pure" mania and I couldn't sleep and was quite crude SO.... Hope all goes well...
Avatar m tn Also, just tapered off Lexapro I was also on this for 10 years and it took me 6 months to taper down. Been on 1mg Xanex for 10 years and stopped abruptly last week. Stopped the Lunesta 5 days ago cold turkey, and same thing with the xanex- Severe withdrawl symptoms appeared 5 days ago. burning beginning in chest, extending down to bladder and palpatations, shakiness, severe feeling of nausea, and an urgent need to move my bowels after the episode "Episode" lasts about 1minute.
Avatar f tn s, all the anti manics including lamictal, old antipyschotics and the new antipsychotics, which thanks to them I am now prediabetic. I am now on Lexapro, xanax and tegretol. The tegretol is recent but I am having trouble with restless legs with it. I might mention that I have also had 21 sessions of ECT. Is there anything left for me?? I am feeling pretty hopeless at this point.
Avatar f tn I have beenbtaking 8 50mg for the past month. I also take seroquel, lamictal, lexapro, st johns wart, l tyrosine all for depression and bipolar. Will I have serious withdrawals if I quit now? Will all my depression meds help soften the blow mentally? Anyone been ok when xeroxing off tramadol??
1298907 tn?1272886488 I tried neurontin. That was a horrible experience. It made me violently ill (nausea and vomiting) and kept my mind in a cloud. I'll never try that one again. As others have said, we all react to medications differently. This is just my experience with them. Hopefully your experience will be a good one.
689327 tn?1240229164 In the past yr I have been on celexa, lexapro , Zoloft and now back on lexapro because the 200 mg of Zoloft was making me shakey. None of these AD's seem to work aty anxiety and depression. The only slight relief I get is from klonopin, which I have been on for a yr also (low dose .25mg 3x's a day. My podcast keeps telling me to be patient because it takes time for these mess to work .
