When i saw my MS Dr. on Friday we talked about the gabapintin, i originally started it for my headaches. But I stil am having headaches and I am not sure what else they are doing for me so she is having me cut back on them. We are tring to get me off some of my cache of meds...so I cut back from 4 a day to 2 a day. Didnt think much about it but i am feeling like crap , headaches are worse and feel like i am having hot flashes, I havent had hot flashes for a long time now.

While Gabapentin is used as anticonvulsant, it is also indicated for shingles or postherpetic neuralgiaand also for hyperhidrosis, headaches, diabetic neuropathy, hot flashes, and fibromyalgia. Common side effects of gabapentin include dizziness, somnolence, fatigue, fluid retention, nausea and vomiting. Take as prescribed and check with your doctor if you have any side effects. just curious if anyone knows what i can do to help with the hot flashes or sweats...i know its a good sign the drug is leaving ur system but just wondering if there is anything that helps even a little.....i'm sweating like a pig...but know its good....thank you for your input....

I had a pacemaker put in about 2 months ago after ungoing 2 ablation procedures for WPW. I have been experience hot flashes during the night and also a few during the day ever since. I am wondering if this could possibly be a side effect of the pacemaker or would it be happening anyway due to my age (52) and menopause.

normally i get them if i run out of the meds that im on but this time its different because i havent ran out of my meds and im getti8ng the hot and cold flashes. normally the pattern is i get cold flashes all day long i turn my heater up to 78 degrees and im still cold. than at night when i go to bed its like every hour im having hot flashes than like 30 min utes later it turns to cold flashes.

I think it has something to do with the thyroid thing. I was experiencing the same thing. I had a TT 3 years ago and started having hot flashes off and on. If you have any other symptoms, get checked for any virus or other sickness, but just hot flashes is usually normal. I have them, mostly at night, and our bedroom is in the basement where it's nice and freezing. Just stay hydrated and hopefully they let up. They should go away post pregnancy. Good luck!

No your not I sweat all day and take cold showers. I feel so hot I drink cold water and stand in front of the fan. Im 32 weeks and at night i sweat so much even though I have all my fans on.

Haha I have had the same problem! I took my last pill on Nov 28 and have had hot flashes off and on since then! Mine seem to be worse at night but I have had students comment that they were cold in my classroom and I am pulling up my sleeves because I am hot! I would like to know too!

Hello, for the past few weeks, I have been getting hot flashes and have noticed that my body temperature has changed. I used to be cold all the time, now I have to have a window open at night. I am only 43 but had a hysterectomy which my doctors says I could go into menopause 5 years earlier then normal. Is this something that could be caused by fibromyalgia?
