I am taking a very low dose of nefazodone because I'm prone to having serious side effects from most meds, especially anti-depressants. When I increased to 75 mg and then 100 mg, I started to have horrible acid reflux. I'm currently taking Dexilant in combination with Carafate and, as needed Zantac, to try to control the reflux. I'm still experiencing serious discomfort until several hours after taking nefazodone.
I've had chronic, severe nausea for the past year and I can't take it anymore. I get nauseated after everything I eat. It doesn't matter what. I can't even have breakfast anymore (I went from eating solids to drinking liquids, and now I can't eat anything at all). Sometimes I feel like I'm not even hungry, and other times I feel horribly hungry. I can only have small meals now and I can't have dairy or bread.
Anyway, there are lots of options - ranging from a number of medications that have been well studied such as nefazodone, mirtazapine, and the tricyclic antidepressants, to supplements that seem to be effective (although probably somewhat less so) such as hypericum and s-adenosyl methionine. Finally there are a number of medications that are not routinely prescribed for depression that might be of use, and that list is a bit long to put here.
In any event, the answer is yes.
The interaction has also been reported in patients receiving atorvastatin, lovastatin, or simvastatin with other potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitors such as azole antifungal agents, macrolide antibiotics, HIV protease inhibitors, and nefazodone. Clinically, high levels of HMG-CoA reductase inhibitory activity in plasma may be associated with an increased risk of musculoskeletal toxicity.
Due to the risk of life-threatening and fatal toxicity, patients with renal or hepatic impairment should not be given colchicine in combination with potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitors such as itraconazole, ketoconazole, voriconazole, nefazodone, delavirdine, protease inhibitors, and ketolide and certain macrolide antibiotics. In patients with normal renal and hepatic function, the dosage of colchicine should be reduced when used with potent CYP450 3A4 inhibitors or within 14 days of using them.
m not big on side effects and all that. I have been taking paxil for 4 days now and on day two I realized that I was yawning so much that my jaw was starting to hurt (yawn) I cant stop. Im really really tired and the yawning is getting quite annoying. Is this normal and when does It usually stop? Im also obese weighing in at 257.4 lbs with only a 5'2" height. I heard alot about paxil making you gain weight. I dont want that. Im trying to become healthy.
I am on Wellbutrin XL, Ablify and Zoloft. I am still not doing better. Do you think they would put me on another Antidepressant also?
I had been on Zoloft for 15 years, first on 100, then 50 for the last 7 years. 50 mg wasn't working as well for me anymore, and I wanted to try to switch my meds anyway to improve my sex life. Well, after a rollercoaster of a year where I tried Wellbutrin first, then Nefazodone, then falling into a very deep depression I realized that I really do need to be on Zoloft. The other pills didn't really help my drive, but they did make sex more pleasurable and had quicker/easier orgasms.
I am suffering from depression but I have Long Qt and am obese , diabetic and have svt's my GP has been unable to find any medication that is suitable - do you have any suggestions?
At the time I was taking Nefazodone and recently weaned off of that. I was on 50 mg Z for 3 weeks and was bumped up to 75 mg one week ago. My anxiety has been bad so I am taking klonopin for that. I'm not doing well emotionally and thought the zoloft would work by now since it's been a full month. I also have no desire to even try sexual activity because I know it's not going to be good with the zoloft. My doctor suggested adding 150 mg Wellbutrin.
Hi i am having major sleep issues with sleep seeing as i call it. I wake up and see a whole new place than i am actually in. many of them include people to talk to and objects to avoid. About 1/3 of the times this happens i always end up waking up on the floor and have walked around for who knows how long and didn't bump into anything. Some times it takes 5 seconds to finally have my room come back into vision or up to 20 minutes.
this is my first pregnancy and i am the same way. i 8 weeks 6 days today. all i do is sleep and i don't know how to make it any better. they said to walk more and exercise but it makes me more tired. they say it goes away second trimester. i hope it does.
Lately I haven't been having the greatest sleep, I'm 19 weeks and been feeling the normal sleepy through out the day. But even if I had a full day and i get ready for bed and I'm restless. I eventually fall asleep but wake up around 1:30 WIDE awake. And now I have been having more crazy dreams that are keeping me up. There all about my fiance cheating or talking to other girls and a lot of stuff that typically make a person jealous.

I recently started taking a low dose of Imipramine (25 mg) and have been having trouble with dreams and staying asleep. My dreams seem very real and i wake often with a odd tingling feeling and i feel a little "out of body". I was prescribed Imipramine for anxiety, not depression, but i wondered if anyone else has the same problem. I take one only before bed to help with sleep, so i don't understand why it is causing me to have problems sleeping.
