Hello, I am taking a very low dose of nefazodone because I'm prone to having serious side effects from most meds, especially anti-depressants. When I increased to 75 mg and then 100 mg, I started to have horrible acid reflux. I'm currently taking Dexilant in combination with Carafate and, as needed Zantac, to try to control the reflux. I'm still experiencing serious discomfort until several hours after taking nefazodone.

m not big on side effects and all that. I have been taking paxil for 4 days now and on day two I realized that I was yawning so much that my jaw was starting to hurt (yawn) I cant stop. Im really really tired and the yawning is getting quite annoying. Is this normal and when does It usually stop? Im also obese weighing in at 257.4 lbs with only a 5'2" height. I heard alot about paxil making you gain weight. I dont want that. Im trying to become healthy.

Hello. I was taking 30mg of mirtazapine at bedtime. Then, on friday I took only 15mg. On saturday I did a lot of sports and running and didn't take any Mirtazapine. On sunday, I took four beers and haven't taken any Mirtazapine since then. On monday I was having headaches and was harder to think. Do you think this is because of the alcohol or just because of withdrawal symptons? Thank you.

hi, two moths ago i took 15 mg mirtazapine for sleep, and the next day my face look sagging and swollen , within week my lower cheek sunken in, anyone noticed the similar problem with mirtazapine or other antidepressants?

I am now trying to remove the mirtazapine and cut the 7.5mg cold turkey and was awake all night not having it and severe panic attacks in the night and during the day with severe nausea. So now Im trying to take a 1/4 tablet of mirtazapine which is approx 3.75mg. How should I go about this? I do have a doctor appointment booked as I think withdrawal is already an issue.

I've had chronic, severe nausea for the past year and I can't take it anymore. I get nauseated after everything I eat. It doesn't matter what. I can't even have breakfast anymore (I went from eating solids to drinking liquids, and now I can't eat anything at all). s action on dopamine and norepinephrine might be the only thing you need more and especially since mirtazapine is sedative and Wellbutrin is stimulating. Taking both medications will take care of all your monoamines which are thought to contribute to depression. I would not recommend Effexor. Zoloft is usually good at treating GAD since it's a ''soft'' SSRI but I don't think it will do any better than Celexa.

even when I went on the mirtazapine. My Dr. prescribed xanax for me and it helped hold me until the mirtazapine started working. I also take 30 mg. at night for depression.... I couldn't tolerate anything - made me agitated...

Thank you for the response!! Shadow is a 5 y/o neutered male. He's been tested for Fliv, cancer and been xrayed. The only thing they found was an elevated white blood count and a slight fever. So he spent 2 days at the vet getting IV fluids and broad spectrum antibiotics that was last weekend. He was eating okay until Friday and I called the vet and got the Mirtazapine. I'm running out of money quickly and I'm sick with worry that he's not going to make it through this.

It really helped me for a couple of years. Withdrawal was minimal. But the 2nd round I took it for a few months then weened off, the withdrawal was really bad on me. But it could have been a bad mix of anxiety on top of that. It will make you crave sugary foods! But it will kill anxiety and depression. It made me super creative as well. Loved it while my body was agreeing with it. :) I prefer to be med free these days though. Good luck, hope it works well for you!

I was on Mirtazapine since Sep. 8, 2009. I moved from 30mg to 45mg about 1 and 1/2 weeks ago. But since Oct. 31, 2009 I've been completely off the Mirtazapine (Remeron) and haven't really noticed any issues. The mechanisms of mirtazapine are different than any of the antidepressants you tried in the past. Mirtazapine is an antagonist of most 5-HT receptors and adrenergic receptors. Unlike most conventional antidepressants, however, mirtazapine is not a reuptake inhibitor and has no appreciable affinity for the serotonin, norepinephrine, or dopamine transporters, nor is it an MAOI or have any efficacy at inhibiting/inducing any other enzyme for that matter.

The Doc prescribe me with zoloft and i went to the ER and they prescribe me with klonopin.I am not sure about Mirtazapine i really don't know much about any of this anxiety medicine..But i don't take meds for my anxiety i keep telling myself i will fight it on my own.So good luck to ya hun on your medicine hope it works for you...
