I been having pains on the sides of my throat, NOT like a sore throat, but a pain that hurts when I sneeze, cough or sometimes just turn my head. Its down around my Adam's apple or maybe just below it on both sides. I told my Dr. and he said, gargle with salt water. But it not a sore throat pain. Any ideas what might be causing this pain ?
my doctor put me on some antibiotics, amozicilin and peniciline at different times and gave me medication for the fever. while the mouths sores and neck pains resolved, the sore throat, ear pains and the fever remains. i feel a burning sensation in the area where the sore is in my throat with radiating pains to the ear on the same side of the throat. i have since stopped smoking and cut down on my alchohol consumption. i feel very sick that i will need your advice to help deal with the problem.
When I looked in the mirror this morning, I noticed there is a large, single purple spot near my swollen tonsil. This is where the sore-throat pain is coming from. It looks raw. It has a few white flecks on the spot itself, but no white spots anywhere else on the tongue or throat or anything.
Other than this, I feel fine. But the painful swallowing is killing me. Any ideas on how long this will take to go away?
I have been experiencing neck pain below my thyroid on the left side for 2 moths, suddenly the sore neck went into one side of my throat and ear Left side. It gets worse after 5-6 pm and I have to take serious pain meds to get it to calm down. I feel like I have the flu or something But I have no fever and no other symptoms. Covid tests all negative. My doctor put my on a huge dose of augmentin and it’s not helping.
Cause it would make sense if I have a cold in my head or sinus infection or throat infection of some sort on that side of my head mainly for the lymph nodes on that side right near my sore throat to swell a little bit. So if it was hoc causing this cold/flu symptoms of runny nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat would ALL of my lymph nodes also be swollen not just on one side of my neck? I just want to know for peace of mind.

A little backstory - I developed a cold sore on my lower lip 2 days ago and a lymph node is also painful on the same side of my neck - near the very end of the lower jaw but below the jaw itself.
I started Googling stuff and found that swollen lymph node might be a sign of throat cancer.
I then went to check my throat instantly and found 3 small sized ( < 2-3 mm) bumps that are hard to touch and are flesh colored, situated on my palatoglossal arch.
I know my normal is typically 97.9. My sore throat still persists and now I have a sore neck...nothing looks swollen on my neck but its mildly sensitive to the touch. Last night I my right armpit near the pectoral started to hurt, but it doesnt look obviously swollen, and the now the slight pain is coming from my upper pectoral by my armpit. No groin pain or enlargement. I am freaking out because of my neck and armpit...and the fact that I havent eaten anything in 72 hrs.
I got sick a week ago.. sore throat, cough, runny nose and I found another swollen lymph node in my neck. Its twice the size of the other one.. Its starting to scare me.. I showed my Dr. and he said its nothing to worry about.. he told me to go back in 2 weeks and we'll discuss another biopsy.. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated..
kind of near my right tonsil somewhere in the right side of my mouth/near the throat. Looking in the mirror, I can barely see a white-ish look on my right tonsil. This has gone on for about a week or so with no improvements. Acidic things don't bother it, but rough foods do a bit.
Also, I'm 19 years old/dont smoke/drink occasionally/don't use chewing tobacco.
Is this something to be worried about cancer-wise? I read it developed painlessly if it is cancer...
The glands on either side of the neck, under the jaw, or behind the ears commonly swell when you have a cold or sore throat. Glands can also swell following an injury, such as a cut or bite, near the gland or when a tumor or infection occurs in the mouth, head, or neck.
Glands in the armpit (axillary lymph nodes) may swell from an injury or infection to the arm or hand. A rare cause of axillary swelling may be breast cancer or lymphoma.
The pain in my neck and sore troat will not subside . At over 100 days since possible exposer if the sore throat was due to acute HIV would I get a positive test for sure. And I've noticed white spots in my mouth on the sides down into my throat. They look like somthing a chewer of tobacco would have but I don't chew .
Do you have a fever or any pus in your throat (white bumps or patches near the tonsils or the back of your throat)? If do you it could be a strep throat. IF no fever and no pus but just a red throat it maybe a virus. It should pass in a couple of days if it is a virus. If it dosen't get better then see a doctor and be honest about the oral sex. They can easily do a throat swab for GC and also a culture for strep throat or a rapid strep test and culture. Hope this helps.
Your persistent symptoms of sore throat, ear pain and lymph node swelling could be due to a throat infection, most probably streptococcal or a viral infection. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain.
s terrible and a lot. Did you do anything? Is this an injury? Is your throat sore like strep? Is it within your skin like cellulitis? Just trying to get a few more details. The obvious question, this doesn't seem to be getting better --- considering a doctor? Does ibuprofen help (as it reduces inflammation and is a pain reliever)?
I came back but i still feel a little dizzy some times and have a mild pain near my neck, I am getting worried about HIV. Doctor examined me if I have sore throat, swollen lymph nodes near my groin and said I am fine. I did not have any fever yet,no night sweats, no diarrhea, no vomiting, but sometimes after 5 weeks i see 1-2 pink colored rash on my arm or thigh region and still have a mild pain near my throat, doctor said its because of cold weather and prescribed some medicines.
after 8 weeks i took another elisa test that came back negative again. but the thing that bothers me is persistent sore throat that i can feel it through out my neck. i took antibiotics and any remedies that doctors prescribed but it is still there. i tried to convince myself that my risk has been near missed but when i notice this kind of symptoms that now has been gone and my sore throat and a bit of weigh loss i can't do my work.
