Avatar_n_tn I have had sore throat/right side neck pain for about 6 weeks. It feels irritated and sometimes a full feeling in my throat. The pain also radiates to my right ear. I have seen an ENT, who seems to think it is some type of lingering infection in the muscle tissue. throat cultures, and mono tests negative. I also have a history of post partum thyroiditis, approx 2 yrs ago. I have an enlarged lymph node also on the right. I have taken almost 3 weeks of antibiotics, with no improvement.
Avatar_f_tn My husband has been having something going on with his neck. It's a pain that is sore to the touch on the left side of his neck. Doesn't look swolen and doesn't feel light a knot. It hurts or is sore when he turns his head. Don't think it's a pulled muscle-he said it just feels sore right around his throat area, but on the outside. any ideas on what this could be?
Avatar_m_tn For the past three months my son (19) has developed severe stiff neck, sore throat, and pain in lymph nodes (front side under jaw bones) The sympthoms come on suddenly, last a few days, then disappear for a month.. The first two cases were treated with antibiotics and anti-imflam but tests for bactical infection have been negitive. No fever. ENT Dr. does not see any significant inflamation and infectious desease specialist ruled out meningitidis (although no test performed).
Avatar_n_tn A few days after the rash first appeared I developed a sore throat which got worse and I still have. I have never had a sore throat like this before. Its very painful, usually only when swallowing but occasionally it will just twinge almost like a cramp. Its not raw or scratchy, no horseness or cough, can't see anything unusual.
Avatar_m_tn I m having ear pain and sore throat and also have sore mouth, my tounge, upper area of mouth and also hav pain behind the ears...been like this for a week now. I m worried as I had a pap smear wich came back with hpv and ascus and I also hav large fibroids wich I m getting treatment for. My great worry now is that is this sore throat related to hpv as hpv can also cause head and neck cancer. I will be glad if someone can help me on it.
Avatar_n_tn It will go away with meds for a few hours, but I do not want to keep taking those. I also have a sore throat, and stiff neck. This is all on my right side for the most part. I forgot to mention in the doctors post that I have wisdom teeth coming in, which could somehow be related I suppose. I do not have any dizziness/vertigo/vomiting/nausea/upset stomach/muscle pain nothing but a sore throat, horrible headache, and stiff/hurting neck.
Avatar_n_tn Your persistent symptoms of sore throat, ear pain and lymph node swelling could be due to a throat infection, most probably streptococcal or a viral infection. Strep sore throat needs to be treated with an antibiotic as strep is a bacteria. Viral sore throat is best treated with rest, warm oral fluids and (OTC) Tylenol (acetaminophen) or ibuprofen for pain.
1079987_tn?1258044516 Hi Meg, i have some sinius and Post-nasal drip (PND) issues that cause a chronic sore throat and cough. This is something some with chiari here seem to have in common however i could not say it is a symptom of Chiari or just coincidence.
Avatar_m_tn Today I noticed that the left side of my neck, not so much the throat as the area right next to it, has been rather sore and aches with a strange pain. I can feel a slight pain in this area when i swallow anything or touch or press on it. Ive taken a few pain relievers to no avail. It is from below the jawline to about where the adams apple is. My throat doesnt really hurt, just to the left side of it. Does anyone know what this may be.?
Avatar_m_tn I had a sore throat since about a mounth after with possible swollen lymps groin and neck with a pain in my lower right abs. 393685_tn?1425816122 Does anyone else out there have or had a terrible sore neck? it hurts so much in the back. Mythroat feels like I can't swollow where it feels like that little adam's apple won't move. even my jaw hurts. I went to the ENT - he wants to see the actual US films . I called the pharmacist and he said prednisone should not be the cause of any pain I am having. Would this nodule cause so mych pain ? adn IF it spread to lymph node could this be my pain too.
Avatar_m_tn Hi I am having a sore throat and muscle spasms especially in the side of the neck and upper chest. Which STD could it be? Please someone answer so I can get that tested.
Avatar_m_tn I've been having a sore throat and pain under my chin right in the center by where my tongue would be it's on the outside the doctors just say it's my tonsils I've been through prednisone and 2 antibiotics and no relieve when it get's real bad it feels like something stabbing the outside of my throat area so far no lumps have been felt except my lymph nodes which doctor says is normal with throat problems and there small. does any body have any ideas what this might be?
Avatar_m_tn I started having a sore throat about a week plus one day ago. It wasn't all that bad, just sore to swallow. I went home for the weekend hoping that my parents care would heal me up over the weekend, but we tried multiple things and the sore throat wouldn't go away. It only kept getting worse.
Avatar_n_tn I have had enlarged cervcial lymph nodes on and off for approx 7 months, neck pain anterior bilaterally-as if it is the lymph nodes that are sore. I have pain in both sides of my neck-feels deep and at times I get extremely sharp pains in one specific area of my anterior neck (again appears like it may be in one or two lymph nodes) when I blow my nose hard.
Avatar_n_tn I've had very bad throat pain for the past 3 or 4 months. It started with throat pain then short of breath like if I'm airhunger. I feel like my breath may not be strong enough or there may an obstruction that reduces the airflow. Now I have chest and middle back pain now it started like 1 month ago, my posture has completly changed. Now my chest has "sunk" or feels like in a down position. ( I dont know how to explain) and my neck is protruded, like in forward position.
Avatar_n_tn I've been having pain, possibility that it might be my wisdom teeth, also i have sore neck like when you move your neck to fast and you pinch a nerve but it won't go away. My throat has also been hurting and i have been coughing up coagulated nasal mucus, that has dried blood in. Lastly i have been getting headache's that won't go away, and a painful feeling in or behind my eye's. Does anyone have an idea of what i might have, two week's before this i had a tempurature of a 103.
Avatar_m_tn As well I get left sinus infections along with my left throat gland becoming swollen and sore .
Avatar_n_tn He said that first off the pain that I mentioned was a tension headache, and the pain in my neck is muscle pain. Plus, he said that none of the nodes in my neck were swollen - the only reason they could be felt at all is because I am very skinny, and they need to be 1cm or larger to even take a biopsy. This was a huge relief, but I was still confused a bit. Partly because I can still feel the nodes only on the left side of my neck and not on my right side at all.
Avatar_f_tn If amoxicillin and calvepen (phenoxymethylpenicillin) didn't help I have to wonder if your sore throat, sore ear, and sore neck are more from a virus. But 2 weeks is a long time for a virus. I'd get a second opinion if I were you. Dr.
Avatar_n_tn I recently had a flu like illness with fever and unable to get out of bed, after the flu like symtoms went away I was left with this pain in my throat, its deep and is dull and throbbing, it even hurts to talk. I seen an ent and he said I have reflux and a deviated septum, he gave me nose spray and nexium, for the last 4 weeks the pain has moved to my chest and back area about six inches down from my neck line. I even seem to be feeling tired alot, and even a slight headache.
Avatar_f_tn So this past week ive had a lot of pain in my left ear, swollen glands all to the left side of my neck and any time i swollow the pain gets worse. I've also got some mouth alcers. Could I just be run down?Any suggestions as to what I need for treatment?
Avatar_f_tn Patients need to take the entire amount of antibiotic prescribed, even after symptoms of the sore throat improve. Stopping the antibiotic early can lead to a return of the sore throat. Pls consult a physician and get yourself evaluated as physical examination ir required to make a diagnosis. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.
1147816_tn?1261609415 I've learnt a lot about deep/diaphramatic breathing from my singing lessons but I admit I do find it very hard in the classroom because I'm constantly being observed - and because I can constantly feel the pain in my neck or throat. Even when I'm talking socially I sometimes feel my throat getting sore - and it can be hard to talk or sing. Naturally, and unfortunately, this has led to a state of deep depression, but I have now been free from tears for about six weeks.
