Avatar f tn What is the cause of my neck pain? Is it a pinched nerve? back pain pillow This discussion is related to neck issues.
1230181 tn?1269951024 because I was having a host of symptoms, pulse in my ear, migraines, foggy brain, memory and word problems, and one of which was neck pain. Well the neck pain was actually not all that bad, maybe brought on by poor posture. Well she ordered an MRI, and it show a 5 mm herniation chiari 1 malformation. My neck pain has increased to the point where it feels like I have whiplash, though I haven't done anything to cause it.
Avatar n tn I began experiencing back pain that mild to severe back and neck pain along with numbness, tingling etc. about 2 and half months after side impact car accident. Is this possible?
Avatar f tn I had whiplash in 2006 and in 2007 I had an MRI with the following: 1) Reversal of cervical lordosis and 2) Disc bulging with oesteophytic spurring at C3-4 with bilateral foraminal narrowing. At C3-4, there is loss of disc height. There is 3 mm disc bulging with osteophytic spurring with compression of the ventral dural sac and slight cord flattening. The midline canal diameter is adequate. There is moderate foraminal narrowing bilaterally due to oesteophytic spurring.
Avatar n tn I had a whiplash injury in June and found a great doctor to help with pain. He is a pain management physician. He told me at my last visit that my pain is from my accident and that I should get an attorney. He said his diagnosis is cervical facet arthropathy from trauma. Today I get his report and it says his assessments are 1. Cervical Spondylosis 2. Cervical facet arthropathy Now those seem to contradict each other. Spondylosis seems to mean age related degeneration like arthritis.
Avatar f tn The next day I woke up and could not move my neck and it felt very similar to the whiplash feeling I had years ago but this time it is worse. My neck feels so sore and I keep feeling like I want to stretch it out but no position helps. There is a tightness in my entire neck and it's going down to my right shoulder. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me physical therapy again.
Avatar m tn I have never had any problems until a year ago I was rearended by a truck and since day one had severe pain in my right side of neck and back of neck. Also my shoulders and right arm pain. When I had a mri done a month later it showed a goiter. I was put on medicine synthroid and never any further tests. Recently I changed doctors and she wanted to see why my neck is so swollen in the front and found lots of nodules along with my goiter.
Avatar n tn I have sharp pain under my right shoulder blade and my neck when i bend. Its been 3 months now and is still there. i had a car crash whiplash injury months ago. Also i had a bad cough that lasted a while and i had pain under my ribs from coughing so much. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn I have a neck injury from whiplash in a car accident over 20 years ago. Good times. The muscles are crazy the way they are all connected. Releasing the back of the neck from your front muscles of your neck is common. I did medical massage which was a life saver, saw a chiropractor and did physical therapy. All helped significantly. I would consider getting a full evaluation.
Avatar m tn Hello mitchst. Thanks for writing into our forum. Absolutely there seems to be a connection with neck pain, whiplash and high blood pressure. There are ongoing studies looking into this. Here's an article http://www.bpassoc.org.uk/can-whiplash-cause-high-blood-pressure/ And this article: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/08/070802090711.htm Have you considered physical therapy or chiropractic care for your neck?
Avatar f tn Presented to ER with severe headahce (worst in my lifetime) eye pain and vision loss, red hot stiff neck, fever and general lack of energy. Was on prednisone for 3 months and Skelaxin (muscle relaxant). I am much better but still having weird head pains (feels like my brain is sloshing around) neck pain on right side with tenderness right under the ear, and eye pain (both eyes feel sore behind the socket). No longer on any meds but still having symptoms that no one can diagnosis.
Avatar f tn No spinal tests done and did not hit head during accidnet--just whiplash over the steering wheel of car. Still having neck pain, headaches --not as severe--and eye pain (although no LOSS of vision like before). Been off all muscle relaxants and prednisone for 3 weeks now. I will schedule complete opth exam to rule out any underlying eye problems and do you mean physical therapy might be warranted given whiplash diagnosis and still recurring problems?
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if neck inflammation can cause head pressure and quick jabs of pain inside your head.
Avatar f tn t know if maybe my neck lump could be what is causing the whiplash? Should I be persistant with my doctor? I feel bad because I do not want ot question him but he does often forget things about me. Including delivering my daughter via c section. If you have any information on whether this could be related please let me know. My head hurts too much to over think this.
Avatar n tn Go back to the dr and let them know that this is a problem you have noticed since the accident. Insurance should pay for any therapies. You could have damaged the disc or vertebrae in your neck.
Avatar f tn I have whiplash from headbanging (i wont be headbanging any more) i had tingling in my left hand, but it went away. im 25, and on naproxen for about a month. I'm 2 and a half months into the injury and my neck still feels off. What should I do?

Avatar f tn I had a very minor whiplash injury 10 days ago but was able to carry on normal activities and run for over an hour a couple of days after. 4 days after the event my neck pain worsened and I suffered from extreme nausea.I had a severe headache and was admitted overnight for a CT of my brain which was fine. The following day I had another sudden severe headache and was taken into hospital again. The MRI and MRA were normal, and I was discharged with a diagnosis of whiplash injury.
Avatar f tn The reason I ask is because two weeks after my FNA I had neck pain on the whole left side that felt like I had whiplash and I also had a cold/sore throat. The neck pain lasted about a week and the sore throat lasted maybe 3 days. No one else seemed to think it was related to the FNA, but I couldn't figure out anything else it could be.
Avatar m tn Can a whiplash neck injury with chronic pain, headaches and twitching also be the cause for a constant ringing and pressure in my ears ?
Avatar f tn Had CT and Xrays. It is typical of a whiplash injury plus I have one of the discs in my neck is degenerating however that has no bearing on my unstable ness. A lot has to do with muscle spasms that occassionally occur - usually when I am stressed. I would like a preventative measure. GP seems to think a nerve has been damaged in the process which also gets triggered with the muscle spasms.
Avatar m tn PT should be able to help u if this is the only injury u have,.,..I had whip lash and u can have pain all down ur back, up ur neck, thru ur shoulders etc...so see a Dr tell them what all is involved and see if PT might help. Good Luck and keep us posted on ur progress.
Avatar f tn But I read that people get headaches in back of head with neck pain. Rarely do I get headaches in the back of head when having neck pain. Always in front of head near hairline and temples. I'm a big worrywart so I'm constantly freaking out about this.
Avatar f tn Chronic neck pain is difficult to treat. You describe everything you sould have with neck pain, cracking, popping, difficulty sleeping. You really need to back to the doctor and start over if he dosen't respond to this then maybe find another docotor.
Avatar f tn Several days ago I was diagnosed with whiplash following a car accident. I did not hit my head. I have felt relitivly fine except a little sore up until this point. My neck x ray was negative and all of my reflexes are intact. Today I experienced a new symptom, I have been feeling dizzy, lightheaded and "foggy" to say the least. The outer part of my hand including my little finger feels strange, almost like it fell asleep (but not quite).
Avatar m tn I read recently that they have been doing studies of whiplash and it totally describes what I have gone thru all these 29 years of constant debilitating pain. I should mention that I also have gone to 2 different pain doctors. My 1st pain doctor shook my hand and said :"thank you beat me." I thought I was going to cry on the way home. In this study they mentioned that whiplash should be treated immediately. I wish I could remember what they called it.
